Glen Scotia Victoriana is out of this world. It has so much flavor and I love what this distiller is up to.

Great review Alan. Good to hear it's another winner for the festival releases. Picking mine up on Friday. I've loved them all, but possibly the rum cask was my favourite. 🥃

I‘m with You with this, the Nose is really great, palate really good, everything balanced.
The peat/smoke delicious, finish is for days.
But… the first dram had a bitterness that I can’t discribe. Despite the little bitterness this is a good one. Perhaps a Neckpoor thing 🤷🏼‍♂️

Loved the tawny port and the Bordeaux, also last year’s 12 year old Ltd Ed. But I have a 2006 exclusive for Sweden that is awesome, loads of tropical fruits

Excellent review Alan! Too bad we can’t get this in the States! I have an unopened 2017 GS 15. Maybe time to pop this one open!

Wow Wow Wow - looks like they have hit it once more. Lovely to see and probably not superhyped so hopefully flying around for some time. 2021 Release is still available at some places so fingers crossed on this 2022 Release.

Thanks for reviewing this whisky, Alan.
Thanks also to Michael for providing the extra information.
Hope to be able to have a sample of this whisky.
Have not had a Campbeltown festival expression, so no favorite.
My favorite Glen Scotia is a distillery only (bourbon matured) I was lucky to pick up in the distillery last year.
    Slàinte mhath

Might just be the best one after the tawny port.... Could just be Simon....

Michael Henry is fond of marrying older and younger whiskies into the mix at both Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was older whiskies in this one.

Alan, sounds beautiful. Never see much from Campbeltown except bottles from 2016 to 2020. But will keep looking.

So impressed with this one DJ so intense and puchy however it's wonderfully balanced from the treacle and hot spices fantastically oily and thick.... Awesome stuff

Got a bottle share with Bart coming this week. Had a taste of Justin's. Having had reservations about the PX involvement, I am happy to say I liked it so I'm looking forward to exploring it further. I do side more with Justin about the level of sweetness on the palate (you have a sweeter tooth than me so I may be more sensitive to sweetness) but I totally agree with you that everything is impressively well integrated.

Got a bottle few days ago... Lovely Campbeltown malt... Find it quite sherry forward and peppery on the taste... But love this style of whisky... Thanks for brilliant review Alan

Hi Alan. I've found a bottle of this near me priced at $135 USD. How much would you pay for it?

    • @thewhiskyfriend
      @thewhiskyfriend  Год назад +1

That is a lot my friend, however it is a fabulous whisky and if you have the cash lying around I really don't think you'd be disappointed... Its good stuff but a tough one.... Let me know if you pull the trigger....
