@LokiTheAnsuz this is not true lmao They already stated you can enhance characters like Neve to have them revive you and they showed it in one of the gameplay videos.
I feel like the combat and companion system pivoting to being more like Mass Effect is making Dragon Age less unique. Like, both franchises features a system where you take party members with you out in the field but DA and ME does it in different ways. With ME, you are commander Shepard so you have command over your squadmates whereas in DA you are a party with equal importance so you could freely switch between all members. With Veilguard, it seems like there's no longer a distinction between the 2 series. I'm still unbelievably excited for the game but it's kind of a shame that DA has unfortunately lost the uniqueness that used to separate it from ME.
I’ve been new to rpg. I’ve always been into GTA 4, San Andreas, Vice City to vice city stories, Red Dead redemption and RDR 2 to Mafia. So one day saw Mass Effect 1, didn’t know what the hell it was about. Ever since I’ve been hooked to tightly. Didn’t anything of DA. My first was DA:2. I didn’t know about origins. I’m a rouge type of player until inquisition. I played Elf-mage. Short hair, sorta like Hawke but blonde. The mage was so fun. I’m playing it now & I feel like ok, what did I miss but I love the freedom of that game, Truth be told. I don’t like Solas. 🥚. I’m confused but I’m just learning. 😢. It’s fun, that’s the important part for me + a strong story driven is necessary. I bought pre- ordered Deluxe Edition of Vail guard. All this on Series X. Im glad you explained the entirety history of 🐉age.
The fact that Harding (my favorite ginger dwarf!😍🥰) is FINALLY romancable, makes it the canon romance for me. I dont mind the action combat either. I genuinely want this game to be good, but I'm at a point where I'm very much expecting this game to fail and Bioware to shut down. Even if I personally enjoy the game, it'll be in spite of controversial series decisions and modern audience decisions. At this point, Veilguard being objectively good with story and gameplay doesn't guarantee success because Bioware is yet another company that hasn't accepted that gamers rejecting games in mass has become increasingly common. I would love for them to learn their lesson for their decisions with Veilguard, but let's be honest, there's no way EA isn't gonna shut them down after this.
Once the reviews are out praising the game and the early adopters are speaking highly of the game, the stupid top surgery scar debate and early trailer screwups will become a distant memory and the community as a whole will mostly jump onboard. I fee confident from the early previews that the quality is very high and the game will be great. We shall see.
@@beaucole446If some people didn't behave like bootlicking sheep, things wouldn't even be at this point. How do EA and Bioware's multi-million dollar boots taste?
@@beaucole446don't see anybody doomposting on gta like that. Bioware fucked up many times so its their own fault. They turned dragon age to a average game, fucked up mass effect and put out the abomination called anthem.
Is it just me or does this game, unfortunately, look really bad. Compared to the previous games the graphics and animations look that of a mobile game.
As much as I like dunking on this game as the next guy, this one I never got. The design choices and art style is horrible yes, but the actual graphics? Where? What's outdated about it? It's literally unreal engine 5
Yo Hulthen gotta ask but do you think it going full action will pull people in or do you think the controversy will repulse. I am getting the game but I’m curious on which you think is the higher force
So i think this is what everyone is not understanding about this game as a huge Bioware fan. Its obvious they went with a Mass Effect approach to RPG as opposed to traditional RPG elements. Bioware used to have both styles in their catalogue being Mass effect and the dragon age series I think they decided it was best for modern games to appear more Mass effect style in terms of the looting and simplicity of items as opposed to the original style of dragon age. Mind you I do prefer the original style but as a fan of both titles I will be fine with this style of gaming. However, I still am not a big fan of the art decision as I don't understand why they went that route it feels like its too smooth of textures and not its dark and grim art style which is what dragon age is known for. that being said as a fan of both I will probably still love this game but I will 100 percent miss the original dragon age series as I mourne its death since I guess there won't be anymore original Dragon age games. The one thing I will tell fans is remember if we do not buy this Game there will never be another dragon age game again since they won't have the funding to make anything. So as a dragon age fan I Implore you to support them and buy it but just give them the criticism they need to go back to original style.

ill bet thats not everything people should know... imo this might be the worst dragon age game in the series... by far the worst! even if you ignore the elephant in the room! and tbh, if there werent dragon age in the title, i wouldnt even recognize it as a part of the dragon age franchise... (except for solas)
This game looks like they copypasted The Sims into a Dragon Age game. The races of Thedas don't have any unique characteristics anymore. They all look like humans cosplaying as another race. I'm not hating on the people who are actually excited about this game and being positive about it. But from what all I have seen about this game has just been bad news. The character creator is uninspired, the only good thing from that creator is the hair physics, but I am not playing a Dragon Age game for the hair physics. I am playing for the story and gameplay. I really hope I am wrong here and would be glad to be proven wrong when it releases, but I feel like Bioware doesn't even care about the fans that have been there since Origins and they are trying to gain a new audience that barely exists. Again I hate saying things like this, but this game doesn't look good at all, it looks like a mobile game, not a dragon age game.
23yrs ago I made the decision to work in radio instead of at an AT&T call center. That decision had consequences as long as I was living in that area. Now.... I've moved to another state, and that decision that meant so much then.... Has absolutely ZERO bearing on my current situation in the new state I live in. See what I'm getting at here?
No? I'm pretty sure the desicions in past games that shape the world of thedas itself are more relevant than some random guy in a random job 23 years ago
1. I'm still not buying the game at launch 2. Yeah Lucanis is hot but god he has a huge head (broader shoulders would look better on him) 3. Everyone looks like I'm looking through a greasy phone camera lens from 2012 - hope the modders can do something and last... all DA games were very much inclusive, but I'm surprised Bioware choose to have "LGBTQ+" tag the SECOND tag on Steam. I'm sorry but "Fantasy" or "RPG" should come before that... Regardless I'll make sure to watch people's reviews who I trust after it comes out
BEWARE BEFORE YOUR PRE ORDER OR BUY! The most important thing to know: Are you a long time fan of the game? Have you played all previous dragon age games? Well your past time game and choices in the other games don't matter anymore as only 3 choices from inquisition carry over. Bioware doesn't care about old players as they seek the new "modern audiance" to buy the game. Solution? Wait for a sale or for free om EA+ a year later when probably it will be fixed of bugs and glitches after updates.
Veilguard is the continuation of Trespasser, your inquisitor is in it and you can continue your Solas romance. It is for the Inquisition fans. It´s for all audiences - you are just mean.
Not really, if they only cater to old fans they would be alienating new players DA:O sold 3mil copies DA2 sold 2mil copies and DA:I sold 11mil copies, should they really make design choices based solely off of less than 25% of their players or make a game that is accessible to new players while trying to stay true to the current fanbase. Also it has been in a playable state from start to finish for over a year now it is unlikely to have many (if any) bugs or glitches.
@@LThomas1701 And Witcher 3 is questionably one of the greatest games ever made. Also this feels highly influenced by mass effect 2 which gives me a lot of confidence in it.
Contrary to what many people say is the worst thing i dont think the only 3 choices for import is a big deal. Unlike Mass Effect where your choices matter throughout the entire trilogy, in DA we always seen self-contained games. Traditionally in DA only 1 or 2 choices actually matter... f.e ultimately from DAO the only choice that matters is if you did the dark ritual or not... and even that isnt a thing that changes the world state. DA2 is a fixed story - no matter your journey you always end up with the same world state. So while at first i was angry about having only 3 choices matter, it actually doesnt matter at all I however will probably not buy Veilguard in the state they are releasing it. Its like Mass Defect: Andromeda all over again... we even have a new meme worthy face (qunarri face) BTW NGL I really hoped we get to play or atleast meet our warden
I am fairly certain you can make a qunari that looks better than they did in DA:I. The game has been in a playable state for over a year now so I am confident it will release in a very good playable state. Lastly with the exclusion on the past events they could put a stronger focus on actual consequences for your choices in the current game unlike past games where most your choice didn't make a difference out side of their individual quest.
@beaucole446 while the game is definitely at a playable state, it doesn't justify the 10 years of development. The visuals break the immersion, character models are a joke. And while they certainly could've made the past choices matter, it really isn't necessary. Still it would've been cool to see the Divine of our choice in a scene or 2, maybe a reference towards our decisions about wardens, mages, templars, seekers etc... and as i mentioned i would've been very cool to see our warden in the same manner as we saw Hawke in Inquisition
@@Vesp3r1987 The visuals are basically just upscaled inquisition... also it hasn't been in development for all the 10 years it was scrapped and restarted 3 times. We have no idea if the past choices would even fit into the story and anything about the divine would definitely be forced and as for the warden they couldn't include them since there is the possibility that they are the king/queen of Ferelden and were in Tivinter.
@beaucole446 the warden always disappear after the events of Awakening (or the other origin dlc's depending on the order yoy play them) So they are technically king/queen only by name
@@Vesp3r1987 Yea but the point I was making is Tevinter and Ferelden are constantly teetering on the edge of war and even if in name only the king/queen pops up it going to cause massive problems. plus its been 20+ years since the warden was first made a warden so they are probably already hearing the call if they didn't already venture to the deep roads thanks to Cory.

Okay, here is my unpopular opinion on world decisions: The whole thing is a bottomless pit. You're never going to please anyone. There are so many different choices that, if the developers had to take them all into account, it would be beyond the scope of a single game. Yes, you could focus on a few important choices, but there will always be someone grumbling about why their choice of XY wasn't included. There will also be people who expect it to be repeated in a future 5th game, as it was originally set up by the Keep for games 2 and 3. I'm perfectly happy with 3 choices and an established canon for Veilguard.
@@SuperGiovanniSantos Yeah, sure 10 years, but how much of that was actual development? I would say it took about 5-6 years to make this game, starting with EA's forced decision to make it a multiplayer live service, losing probably 4-5 years due to lack of direction, and then settling on a single player game.
My thoughts exactly. At some point, I think, it is unrealistic to expect them to implement all the choices and acknowledge each and every one of those thousands of world states. I'd rather they deliver a great and deep story for 3 big choices than spending resources on a convoluted mess of half-baked cameos and mentions. I mean, this kind of personalized micromanaged world state would be amazing, but how realistic is it really for game development to keep track of and implement a decades long, ever growing, ever branching catalogue of choices?
Grey Wardens cannot be trusted, look at them in inquisition put under mind control by darkspawn magisters. The antagonists for this game will eat grey wardens for lunch
I just need to know that I will not buy this game, I will not support their choice to turn a dark fantasy saga into a cinecomic, to ignore the decisions of previous games, to not make the party playable, to simplify the combat, to give a Fortnite design, I will not encourage them to create more crap like this.

I'll be treating Veilguard as a stand-alone game. Too bad really. I was hoping for more effort from the developers. I guess it was more than we could ask for.
Its not though... It continues off from Trespassers, yes things that have no effect in Tevinter/story will not be brought up. Also its not a little effort, its a lot of time, money and effort to include those things that don't actually make a difference to the game and are more likely to alienate new players.
@@beaucole446 Surely they could have added more than 3 though how could they miss out the well of sorrows for instance or which divine the inquisition serves if not disbanded in trespasser especially since one of inquisitors romances could be said divine or even the fate of the warden from origins if alive.

@@beaucole446 Flemmeth is dead but Mythal most likely isnt and she said to the inquisitor if they drank from the well that she has no plans for them YET hinting that decision gonna come in to play at some point but i guess thats out the window now. Wouldnt the divine still be known throughout thedas especially if its Vivienne on the throne a mage divine in the south is a pretty big deal, would definitly have people in tevinter interested in the matter. And I only bring up the warden because the wardens in Veilguard are gonna play a big role in the story and the hero of fereldan if alive would be a living legend who stopped the last blight who was also on a mission behind the scenes to stop the calling but now they will just be forgotten about and never addressed.
tbh, Solas is cringe, always been, and always will be. Didn't think much about him when i've played inqusition, just a random edge lord contrarian. The fact that he is a romance option and actual women like him, makes them cringe too. 6/10.
Something in the video is wrong: you can't romance all companions regardless of gender, there are all flavor of romances including gay romances, but each companion comes with specific preferences. This has been clearly stated like for example in interviews with Eurogamer.
Yes and no you can romance any companion regardless of rooks gender BUT they do lean direction i.e. it may be easier to romance one character if you male vs female and they can outright reject you if you don't act in a way they like.

Great video great info on the game especially for a newbie like me I’m play as filthy human rogue
the biggest selling point of this game is not being a live-service and that's it? okkkk......
At this point when newcomers hear about qunari resemblance to the dragons they probably go like "wat? Wat u talkin about, man?"🤨
I’ve been new to rpg.
Hey hey just started my member shipment again !!!!!!!!! yay Commander
The fact that Harding (my favorite ginger dwarf!😍🥰) is FINALLY romancable, makes it the canon romance for me. I dont mind the action combat either. Just hope theres some nice post game content or NG+ etc. I just pre ordered the "rooks coffer edition" with the physical copy on ps5 from gamestop Canada. This game is my main focus and game of the rest of 2024. October 31st cant come soon enough!!! 😭🙏
This is all good, but like always an inserted bad joke: What about the stubbed toe ability?
I genuinely want this game to be good, but I'm at a point where I'm very much expecting this game to fail and Bioware to shut down. Even if I personally enjoy the game, it'll be in spite of controversial series decisions and modern audience decisions. At this point, Veilguard being objectively good with story and gameplay doesn't guarantee success because Bioware is yet another company that hasn't accepted that gamers rejecting games in mass has become increasingly common. I would love for them to learn their lesson for their decisions with Veilguard, but let's be honest, there's no way EA isn't gonna shut them down after this.
Which lessons should bioware learn?
Once the reviews are out praising the game and the early adopters are speaking highly of the game, the stupid top surgery scar debate and early trailer screwups will become a distant memory and the community as a whole will mostly jump onboard. I fee confident from the early previews that the quality is very high and the game will be great. We shall see.
If people stop doom posting like they do with every AAA sequel game these days it wouldn't be a problem.
The decisions they made with their games is just strange lately...it feels like after dao bioware got midlife crisis and doesn't know where to go. They turned dragon age to a average game, fucked up mass effect and put out the abomination called anthem.
Good summary! I hope.
the combat looks awesome. I loved me3 combat system with combo wheel and this seems to have the same deal
@@ShayQrchestrals resolution is good sure but it's fornite art style, by graphics I wasnt just referring to the resolution
So sad they wont use the dragon age keep.
I really hope scrapping it will be worth it… 😢
Am staying optimistic for this game
Still can't get over them not knowing who zenvran is but they made a game for dragon age and zevran can be a bigger character depending
What happens if the Inquisitor romanced Harding in trespasser and whoever drunk from the well of sorrows does not matter is a wtf
Harding was never actually romanceable??
@basicwitch3794 in the trespasser dlc there's a cutscene and dialogue with Vivienne that confirms your romance with harding if you flirt with her in the base game at every opportunity and have romanced no one else
@@AneirinRPG That literally means nothing.
1: It's been 10 years in game time. Anything can happen in 10 years - clearly it didn't work out.
2: She was never an official romance option. Confirmed in a DLC or not, she just wasn't. There was no story, there was no romance.
3: Literally who did that?? Harding is great and all but who saved themselves for Harding??????? 3 people?
@basicwitch3794 you asked. I answered it won't be referenced in the game, and I'm sure it was more than three people.
This looks so generic it's almost untrue. Another nail in Bioware's coffin.
ill bet thats not everything people should know... imo this might be the worst dragon age game in the series... by far the worst!
even if you ignore the elephant in the room!
and tbh, if there werent dragon age in the title, i wouldnt even recognize it as a part of the dragon age franchise... (except for solas)
I think my biggest bummer is the Mage class. I want my knight enchanter build. From what I understand, mage can't be a team healer either.
I pre ordered I support DA and mass effect.
Hell no, can't believe I'm the first for once!!!
4:10 we got the mage the road and the warrior lol im jk i know you said rouge bros lol

Thanks for the Video as always.... Peace
All I need to know: 3 choices carry over. Back to some light reading Exodus the Archimedes Engine for me 😊
23yrs ago I made the decision to work in radio instead of at an AT&T call center.
1. I'm still not buying the game at launch
2. Yeah Lucanis is hot but god he has a huge head (broader shoulders would look better on him)
3. The qunari look ridiculous, no matter how forgiving I try to be
4. WAY too much hand holding for me, even with everything turned off
5. Everyone looks like I'm looking through a greasy phone camera lens from 2012 - hope the modders can do something
and last... all DA games were very much inclusive, but I'm surprised Bioware choose to have "LGBTQ+" tag the SECOND tag on Steam. I'm sorry but "Fantasy" or "RPG" should come before that...
Regardless I'll make sure to watch people's reviews who I trust after it comes out
You seem like you have a great personality/ Keep it up brother.
Witcher did pretty much the same thing. I'll wait for reviews and if they say the story is good, choices in game matter, I'll play it
Veilguard is the continuation of Trespasser, your inquisitor is in it and you can continue your Solas romance.
@@beaucole446 Andromeda more like.
So while at first i was angry about having only 3 choices matter, it actually doesnt matter at all
I however will probably not buy Veilguard in the state they are releasing it. Its like Mass Defect: Andromeda all over again... we even have a new meme worthy face (qunarri face)
BTW NGL I really hoped we get to play or atleast meet our warden
All you need to know is that it’s not made for Dragon Age fans.

They lost me with the only 3 choices and terrible body proportions.
The crazy thing is that people that say this can’t name a single character from origins
How so?
I'm bored of the games I'm playing at the minute apart from the occasional space marine 2 session. I'm excited for dragon age. I might even play some black ops 6 multiplayer
I’m still struggling about these 3 choices 😂but I’ll try..
This has been a back to back, ok I can be ok without this, that, this, and that.

@@beaucole446 Well, if everything suits you, I can only envy you, but I can't accept the developers' decisions about where the series is heading. I've been waiting for this game for 10 years and now I don't see anything in it that I`d like.
Don't this Game take 10 years to make?
They could do it, but they would need to know the previous games and like the franchise. Which is not the case.
Answer: it's buggy poorly written wokeslop trash with zero choices.

In inquisition, companions have preference. In Veilguard it's a free for all
Yes and no you can romance any companion regardless of rooks gender BUT they do lean direction i.e. it may be easier to romance one character if you male vs female and they can outright reject you if you don't act in a way they like.
