I've never seen a guitarist work and dominate a guitar the way Olga does! WHY IS THIS GUY NOT A HUGE STAR! He's a genius and legend for those who know.
I've been saying the same thing for years 😜 I am amazed he sounds so good the way he runs up and down the stage 🍀 Angus Young is another one, i have been a toy dolls fan ever since I heard fisticuffs on frederick street 🍻
I’m 73 years old. I’ve just discovered this band. I spent the 60s and 70s in a pill crazed world full of only reggae and soul. I’m now going back and realising I was a fool to have ignored punk, blues and rock..
The toy dolls are an English national treasure. I still can't believe I only recently discovered their music. I would so go see them if they were ever to play the states. Toy dolls fan for life, THE RED
Band were from Sunderland. Finos was a nightclub in the town. Also had a song called Tommy Cowies car... Sir Tom Cowie was the CEO of a car dealership chain based in the town... Also chairman of the local football club. The song intimates a possible affair between Cowie and his secretary.
🤣 omg I totally forgot about Finos. When I was a teen in town, Finos was where the "old crowd" went, those over 30. Sitting here now age 40, laughing at how we thought 30 was really old 🤣
thanks for posting the toy dolls songs/vids. i LOVE them. there songs are timeless. my 3 year old loves to rock to them too. (i used to play them when i was a DJ) long live the toy dolls!!!
John Peel used to playt this and rightly recognised it as a classic, appreciated by anyone denied by the crap door policies of so many UK clubs at the time , which were probably shit anyway. Saw the Toy Dolls at the 100 Club and loved em, the true spirit of Oi, untainted by bigotry which crushed it. There was a brilliant streak of cheek and sataire in many bands at that time, check out Macc Lads , Spizz , ect who did't take themselves too seriously . Top notch ..
How did I miss these guys? I just learned about them today. England has given us soooooooo much awesome rock and punk music that most people have never even heard about. While over here in Amerika, we try to figure out which fucking gender we are and what color of the rainbow should go on top.
This was fun to listen to when I was 25. Now I an 55 it's STILL tons of fun - even after I crossed the Atlantic, Thanks to the web nothing is forgotten anymore.
Fino's used to be The Lees Club - they had punk bands on in 1978 - The Lurkers played there - and Cyanide - it's a shame that it wasn't going earlier or that it didn't last longer cause there was nowhere for punk bands to play in the North East - just the universities or the City Hall.
@tacomadc As you know they did have a number 1. I once interviewed him and he said that they might have lost credibility with the hit but I always felt they were satirical anyway. Olga is very talented and does deserve more success.
I can't remember the Shields gigs - all I remember is places like the Old 29 in Sunderland and the Bridge hotel in Newcastle - these would have the occasional punk gig but they were full of men with lots of facial hair and flares.
BOOTLICKER alert .. nothing against police, just their gang mindset as by your avatar blue line in a flag and deleting real colors. Just some champ from Yugoslavia (Slovenia)
QUALITY..listen to that lead and drums with the subtle bass these are true musicians..forget OLGAS look which I think is brilliant .. but some see as a joke, the music is awesome !!!! Durham Lads rule !!!!!!!!!!
I saw them them three times in "de vaartkapoen" in Molenbeek, Brussels, probably 12 years ago... but i still like them. My newborn will be named Alec (still need a confirmation from my wiife), after the toy dolls' song Alec's gone, which I like a lot.
@@staszek461 OMG, after 15 years this reply :-) I Love it... Unfortunately my wife didn't agree and my two sons now are not named after Toy Dolls' songs. More unfortunately however, they are not into Toy Dolls' songs :-)
THE best Dolls line up ever, all the afters had the odd great like Tommy G but this was the ULTIMATE time and format, would and should have been one of the worlds greatest if they had stuck together !!!!!!!!!!!
@tacomadc Just to make sure you've got it right it was Nellie The Elephant that was the hit. I know a guy who played drums with them once Dicka from Sunderland Music - he played on one of my tracks and also did some rough punk harmony on the track good fun. :)
I've never seen a guitarist work and dominate a guitar the way Olga does!
WHY IS THIS GUY NOT A HUGE STAR!
He's a genius and legend for those who know.
Aye he's a great player alright, he holds back a lot though, as the music they play doesn't require histrionics.
Olga rocks
I've been saying the same thing for years 😜 I am amazed he sounds so good the way he runs up and down the stage 🍀 Angus Young is another one, i have been a toy dolls fan ever since I heard fisticuffs on frederick street 🍻

@vunderground1 Yes, it was a mate of mine was the drummer, they all came from Birtley.
Sorry it was the Showbiz Kids, I'm getting old and my memory has gone.
@stripetuffy
