Immense in every way. The Drums are tribal, the Guitars riff massively and the vocal is a wonderful mix of venom and fragility. One of my go to tracks for sanity for a long time now.
The crowd OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I move more in my kitchen now 40 plus years later !!! and still love em. Bones are old and worn but still have a good jig about !!! On a good day !!!!
¡Que grandes los Toys Dolls! recuerdo que empece a escucharlos por esta epoca, cuando tenia unos 15-16 años, han pasado mas de 30 años y aun sigo escuchandolos :)
Remember when I got my first (import) record and I went so excited about it I could not sit or stand still in my room. The shows were legendary and wild back then. If the audience does not flip out here I wonder what on earth can make them flip out.
Just watched the video which was brought to me via various posts of Nellie the Elephant starting with Mandy Miller’s version on which I have posted various comments along with the some under the ‘Nelly....’ version by Toy Dolls under which I also posted comments re Toy Dolls themselves qv. This, in turn, led me to this video which has expanded on my already affectionate love of Nellie and now, having watched this video I’m off to bed (hope I can sleep alright), bye ....... zzzzzz
Who the hell sits for a punk rock show. Screw that where's the energy?! This is punk man, not some orchestra where you sit and be quiet and clap at the end.
What a dead audience. When I saw Toy Dolls in the late 80s the pit was insane. Lots of fun, plenty of movement. Olga and the band even appeared to look like they were having fun by the crowd's intense reaction to their songs.
What the hell kind of crowd was this? Toy Dolls gigs in those days were wild - you went to them because they were so lively. Have this crowd been given Rohypnol?
Crowd looked like it was doing some weird new "thing" they were trying at the time or something- _"You know what, let's teach the establishment a lesson by being still at gigs, man that would mess with their ignorant minds!"_ You could see they were itching to dance but wouldn't let themselves 😂
You can see people behind the first couple of rows being a bit more rowdy, but back then there were a lot of venues where you would get kicked out for 'aggressive' dancing at shows. Some places wouldn't let you jump up and down, or even swing your arms around. The Safety Dance became a massive hit partially because it was satirising those kinds of bouncers and how widespread the issue was. There's also the fact that they're filming, so the film crew might have instructed them to crowd in on those first couple of rows which are lit up and not make any noise that could be picked up on the recording.
One of the most musical punk bands! Love Toy Dolls
I love toy dolls to!
Definitely
Me Too! I Love The Toy Dolls! They Should Come To Portsmouth, UK
Eddie van Halen even gave Olga props on his guitar talent. Olga really is one of the greatest guitarists ever!!! 40 years strong!!!!!!
Van halen is a dutch musician from the City Nijmegen, i was born there.

Pretty much means given acknowledgement and respect.

Mid '80 at english tv, it was the same for all kind of bands, M.Tatcher reings... watch "top of the pop" same era
They were still mostly an unknown band in 1984 and only had one album out. For this they were probably the opening act and no one ever heard of them.

If the Toy Dolls can't move this crowd, no one can.
