The thing = masterpiece
Excellent movie and happy to see so many of thr actors are still alive . Love your videos always makes me stop and think about life and time.
Kurt Russell is one of those "Instantly Makes a Film Cool" actors.
The music is perfect to reflect on the memories of family and friends now gone. Not really sad, not happy but merely comforting. Thanks World Review.
And Kurt Russel is in the best movies! No one mentioned Tombstone but I will, that scene when he slapped Billy Bob Thornton.
Both great actors, love Slingblade too
When I saw this in the theater in 1982, I sat behind a security guard who worked on the sets for the Thing, and he stated it was all filmed inside a sound stage with fake snow, except some outside snow scenes. This movie had great actors who really worked well together, and the result is a classic that will still be good a 100 years from now.
He's wrong; the whole crew, with Carpenter, when to a Canadian location to film most of the film. some clips WERE shot on a stage, but very few.
I saw this movie at the base theater at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska south of Fairbanks. During the winter of 1982. We were working on telephone cable's that ran in these underground utility tunnels that ran all over the base.. Every time we heard some noises down there ,We would stop and and think about that movie. Sure got on our nerve's. Good damn movie.
That’s pretty cool -mon 18 Jan 2021
I'm not sure what the music is, but it always fits the videos perfectly.
I rushed out to see it with my future, and now, wife, the first weekend it was in the local theatre. We both agree, along with "Alien", the best horror movie EVER!👍
Hell yeah they are!!
Agree
Vaginas_ Vibrators Jurassic park, pulp fiction, terminator 2, silence of the lambs, tremors. (Just my opinion)
I can talk about Alien too? The first one, not the rest!
@Vaginas_ Vibrators Jurassic Park was the last movie that I paid my fee, got a bucket of popcorn and a coke and watched! Amazed at that movie, have not visited a theater since, based on reviews have not missed much.
Keith David aged like fine wine, man
I like him with the bald head. Damm he was young. He was one of my favorites in the thing
Kurt Russel will always be handsome no matter what age he is :)
They were all so handsome! Still are! :)
Awesome movie. Arguably best horror movie of all time
I would rather classify it as Sci-fi movie. In that case one of the best, yeah.
@@TurtleManOfficial I like to think of it as sci fi horror suspense
Sci-fi Horror, like Alien. But better.
I watched The Thing yesterday with my family. They did not like nor would call it horror. They just went with what the movie was labeled as. Though I was pretty amazed for the first time watching this. I would for sure call The Thing a horror movie rather than a science movie.
It is the best Sci Fi horror ever made. Alien is a very close 2nd as I think The Thing just pips it because 1. You can't see the enemy and 2. Man can that dog act.
Keith David provides excellent narration over Ken Burns documentaries. Hard to believe it's him-he was in Platoon, too! A great cast of characters and a fucking brilliant movie. It must have been a blast to film.
0:53 "You gotta be f****** kidding me."
That scene was scary!!
Despite the comments, I think Kurt Russell looks pretty fine for 68. And I loved Wilfred Brimley on Seinfeld. "The job of a general is to by God get things done!" 😂😂
Nobodys getting in or out of here! Nobody !!!
The Thing is one of my favorite movies
This music is perfect for these videos. I love it
And how about the creature? Is it still looking good? Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I had the same thought!👍😆
Burnt to a crisp and buried in the ice... ? 🤔
@@MisterVolts kkkkkkkkkk
Not in the prequel lol..tho I like it a bit it cant spit shine Carpenter's Things shoes!
I thought Wilford Brimley recently celebrated his 137th birthday.
Dennis The HiRev lol I thought he died
Rude
He ded
@@kallemnaoquinn1711 He wasn't dead when this was written over two years ago. Maybe he was 137????
In the end , as they waited to freeze to death , you can see Childs has an earring . They both had coats with zippers but I think it was Macready .
Kurt Russell is a beautiful man. He was and still is.
These cast statistics are superb. Imagine the diligent effort required to track some of these retired actors down. Thanks for your hard work.
Wow, Wilford is still around.
He eats Quaker oats. It's the right thing to do!
What amazes me is how Kurt Russell was acting before I was born, and still acting today. And I'm almost 60. Totally amazing.
My best film!
The Thing this alien film gives me goosebumps cos it's amazing never ever get bored of this film it's a drug for me it could happen I love it so much has a 5* rating I would give it more lol. Px
Too many Jack Daniel's MacReady! Brilliant and supreme movie, by the way.
Ha!
I met Donald Moffat in an A&P with my mom. We kept following him at a distance trying to see if we knew who he was. Probably gave the guy paranoia flashbacks until he stopped us to say hello. Awesome guy! Rest in peace Mr. Moffat or couch man as my seven year old self named him
Such an awesome film.... Wish they could do originals like this today.
Love this movie! I remember renting it at the local movie store when it came out. This was in 82 when VHS was just starting to explode.
Still one of the Best Horrormovies for me!!!!!
Best movie in history because there are wasn't any actress (Except voice act for Chess machine)
Anyone else ever noticed that Richard Dysart in 1982 was wearing a little nose ring hoop?
Thanks for another great video - overlooked John Carpenter.
I swear, Kurt Russell looks like Jim Morrison from the 1968 miami concert.
Wow one of my favorites . Boy how time flys .
How I remember going to see this show when it first came out. I just thought the original scared me.
One of my all time favorites next to Escape from New York.
John Carpenter +Kurt Russell =best sci-fi movies
In the words of palmer...",you gotta be FUCKING kidding me"
Lmao BAWHAHAHA LOL fuckin funny
One of my fav classic 80's sci-fi.
Love this ..I wish I had this with me and aee everyone I love from happy faces when born and to now and see everything and everyone around me
Great film; saw it a few times back in 82'...and have the DVD version too, nice, interesting! Love the plot and story too, most of all, based on the short story, "Who Goes There?"
@Roger Borroel
:
Man, you should see the Blu Ray release, if you haven't already hehehehehehe
Kurt is still just as handsome as ever!!
The greatest ever movie
Great flick . I remember reading about it in fangoria magazine
I loved reading Fangoria in the 80s. I was really into Tom Savinis work
Juventud divino tesoro 🤔👍
The first time I noticed Wilford Brimley was in the show, Borderline. I had a bad feeling when he opened the back of that truck.
This movie was terrifying! Even at my advanced age! One that I will remember, stuff you’re CGI!
Who's in 2023?
My very favorite
Filmão
The Thing (1982) directed by John Carpenter and Alien (1979) directed by Ridley Scott both of them are my favorite sci-fi horror movies because I believe both of them are all about fear and paranoia and isolation and yes i consider both of them the greatest sci-fi horror movies ever created as well:).
I made my parents take me to see this at the drive-in theater. It was not what I was expecting. I thought it was the one with the giant green guy... of course today I know that what I should of asked for with "Swamp Thing"... not "The Thing"... uhg.
Thanks for this great video 👍
The Thing is my most beloved Sci-Fi - Horror movie, a true masterpiece of filmmaking.
Most of them died in 1982, except we never got to see what happened to MacReady and Childs. Theories abound as to their fate.
Wilford Brimley just dead at 85, R.I.P.
I remember Charles Hallahan more from his days on Hunter in the late 80's. As opposed to the first 2 bosses, he was the nice boss for Hunter and McCall.....RIP
Died at 54 ! Wow that too young. He was a great actor...really liked him on HUNTER!
@@kennethwilliams7731 WAY too young. RIP Charlie Hallahan, and also Donald Moffat and Rich Dysart. Not a single part in this film was miscast, they each contributed to what will always be my favorite ensemble of all-time.
This music always freaking gets me in these "Then & Now"deals SMH
Great film-Amazing actors-They worked well together!
I love it seen is pic of them thanks.
All time Favorite
Kurt Russell is a legend.

So do you think Childs was the Thing? or was it McReady? Do you think there outta be another Thing movie?
Kurt Russell has aged very well
Best horror film of all time!
Um ótimo a coisa.
Haunting music in these vids. Freaking me the fuck out!
great movie !!!!
No pude evitar ver que puros actores y ninguna actriz que era para hombres el programa?
I love world Review !
Very cool to watch but change that music. Lol
Great video... but to me, it's John Carpenter, Albert Whitlock's matte artistry and the practical makeup effects of Rob Bottin that took this to a new level! A secret shout out to James Arness... u rocked the original...
I feel like of all of them, Richard Musar (Clark) still looks the most like their character. (Just older)
Cool video, thanks for posting!
Windows acted as fox in the warriors 1979 hes a legend
acted in 2 movies that i like so much one of the best if not the best 2 movies ever

Any chance you can do Thirty Something? And ER? They were my favourite shows back then. Thanks!
Kurt Russell hasn't aged very well - just look at his neck.
Can you tell me the composer and release date of this music please?
Not one of the most attractive overall casts!
