HBO had just hit the network on cable back in the 80s and I remember getting a week for free and I watched this movie, no lie every single day. Best police car chase movie ever.
I saw it when it first came out. Opening weekend and the place was sold out. We had to sit too close to the screen, but it was magnificent! I bought the album, Briefcase Full of Blues, too. Love it. Needless to say, I've seen it many times since and always enjoy the hell out of it. 😎😎
They'd done the high speed drive under the L at a lower speed and sped it up. It looked so fake that they got permission from mayor Jane Byrne to actually do it at a 120 MPH using a stunt driver. The people walking along the street we also stuntmen to make it seem even more real. It also held the record for most wrecked cars in movie history. They were also real Chicago Police cars that were about to be replaced, with many being used multiple times. The scenes with Jake and Elwood were filmed separately and sped up when you're watching them drive.
The boy was 14 year old wen he played in the movie now he is 53... that is crazy when you think to it, this is my favorite movie of all time and all the actors that play in it will always have a place in our heart
I love this video. The Blues Brothers is one of my all-time favorite movies. I love that that it gives age they were then & the age they are now. And what they look like today. Sadly 😔 so many of them passed away. This movie made me laugh so hard when I 1st saw it. And it still does Everytime I watch it.
What amazing talent in this movie. Still one of my all time favorites. As the people came onto the screen, I'd laugh and recall funny scenes they were in. I don't generally care for these types of videos, but this movie holds a very special place in my heart and memories.
This film when it first came out helped me get through some really tough times on operations. Many years later you look back and realise how important the vision was of dan Dan Akroyd and John landis. This film did for blues, jazz and soul what the Rocky films did for boxing. Looking back is good now and again but that's it you have to move on.perhaps what this upload highlights is ( we ALL age ) that we should try and live a good life enjoy the moment and every day try and be a better person than the day before. Some people arn't dealt decent cards at outset or may be some of us are down on our luck but somehow we have to try.
I was 12 years old when this movie was released, and is still my top film of all time. So sad so many of the legendary stars of this movie have passed on. I introduced my granddaughter to this move this year, she is 12, and she absolutely loved it. Shows a great movie will always be a great movie.
Some good pictures sometimes it doesn't seem fair when I look at it life is really a short only if we could turn back time thank you for sharing these photographs 👍🇺🇸
John Landis aged extremely well ( he didn’t aged at all ) Carry Fisher still so beautiful, Forgot the eagles 🦅 guitarist Joe Walsh , he was in the jailhouse prison scene , so nicely done , thank you so much for researching and editing all the info as it means a lot to me , the blues brothers motion picture is my all time number 1 most legendary most favourite film ever made , I know ain’t alone on this opinion . Thank you so much
I really love the blue brothers 2000 its was great movie. Rest in peace to those who pass away may they soul rest in peace. I continue watch both blue brothers
In that time they were Kings....the 80s was such a different time....and now they are just old....part of a dying generation that will never be forgotten

Aww,thank u 4 that. I'm sorry many of them are gone now, but in some cases, thatz 2 b expected May they rest easy. For those who r still with us, they look great. Can't believe it's been almost 40 yrs. That flick was hilarious.....i was 20 going on 21 in 80 (December b'day). I will b 60 the end of this yr. God bless the living & the dead😄💞
One of the all time classics that could of spun off multiple sequals for not the untimely passing of John B. Bought the DVD 20 years ago and played it well over 100x
The only natural constants in life are birth, time, and death. Constants to the extent that they ultimately define the life and times of each and every individual whoever lived, irrespective of longevity. Perhaps we should all take this moment of retrospective to look at our own, what we've done with the time since birth, and spiritually ponder how to make the very best of what's left of it for ourselves and others. Funny, but with all the turmoil and dissension today, I can't help but think that would transform this world into a much better place. 🙏🙏🙏

A one of a kind gem that deserves to be rewatched forever. Nothing less

Cool. There's something intrinsically charming about watching a movie on a VHS tape.
I wound up buying the uncut version on DVD the 25th anniversary edition. It also shows the extended street music scene with John Lee Hooker.
Danny Aykroyd 💗 this man sooo much. Mucho crush for years. And the fact that he's so gracious and a class act, makes it more so 💗
