      I can promise you that even in countries with auto parts on every corner, they don't have all the parts you need. I needed some simple spark plugs for my extremely common Kia Picanto in Germany and 2 auto parts stores didn't have them, they had to order them. Fuck that, Amazon saved me.

    I noticed you loosened your backing plate and moved your 3 Jaw chuck around.
    This chuck should actually be mounted on a machined boss so you can’t tap it around.
    If you have a 4 Jaw independent chuck don’t be afraid to use it.
    If you don’t have one you should try and find one.
    Just true up your 3 jaw and leave it that way.

    Do boots exist in the Middle East? I swear, EVERY video you see that was filmed there has some guy in sandals. I’m surprised he didn’t used bent electrodes and make 100 tacks instead of stringers. Another thing, rather than spend hours doing all of this, why not just build up the broken ear with weld and then drill a hole?

  • @MrProdigious1

    The easy way would be to weld another ear on the flange and redrill it. A lot of fooking about there for nothing!

    • @allancoyne9053
      @allancoyne9053 2 месяца назад

      That approach would compromise the structural integrity of the piece as well as potentially affecting the overall balance of the piece. His approach doesn’t introduce those potential problems.

    • @MrProdigious1
      @MrProdigious1 2 месяца назад +1

      @@allancoyne9053 You’re talking crap!! To be fair, it should be scrapped anyway. You’d only repair something like that to get a job going when you don’t have the spares. It’ll be totally unbalanced and weakened by the welding anyway!!! Which ever way you look at it, it’s a shit repair!!!
