Wait, what?! I've done medieval reenactment in Ireland for 22 years and never heard of a big LARP event. This sounds like fun without the pressure to be historically accurate.
I’m in the US watching a French channel who is following a video from a Norwegian channel to make things for an event in Germany. The world is so small these days.
I had never considered before that you can take a base costume and transform it into something entirely different with a few tweaks. You save all the time and effort of sewing the garments, so you can pour it into decoration instead with fantastic results! I gasped when you said that embroidery can hide the machine stitching - that's a genius tip I might even use for my more "historically accurate" sewing.
I always recommend that people begin building costumes from thrift stores! No need to make pants or a skirt if you can find one for cheap! Some custom trim, embroidery, changing out buttons, adding patches, and a bit of weathering can turn a "closet costume" into incredible garb! The details and accessories, like a coin purse, bag, and weapon, bring it all together quickly!
A small tip, put something on the soles of those shoes to increase the grip. Its important to not slip around on the battlefield and get trampled accidentally. And get a pair of waterproof boots, there was alot of rain and mud last year. Always prepare for the next Schlammageddon :)
I loved how the embroidery came out on the tunic! Using that big needle and thread rather than floss really makes it stand out and look like cording and the effect is just marvelous on the stiff fabric. I also really like this notion of taking pre-made costumes/props/etc and making them Yours. It's just nice to see.
That was an AMAZING job adding the embellishments to your costume! I'm amazed at how completely it transformed the basic canvas to something truly unique and wonderful 😍 Thank you for sharing! You made it look so easy, but it takes a true artist to bring such realization to life!
Silly projects are my favorite. They exist purely for joy. For the art of it and the wonder of having it. I love your channel and everything you make and share with us.
As a very clumsy person when I watch people work with die I worry for them cause I know Id get it somewhere I didn't want it. Its amazing to watch to watch someone with the skills and confidence to try and do and manage "failures" which still seem great to me as they can be used.
I honestly was skeptical about what your new duds would look like when you pulled them out of the box, but you made them into something spectacular! I’m now eyeballing all my stuff trying to figure out what I can add a bunch of trim to…🤔
You are a LARPer too.🎉 I must confessed I've never been to Conquest even though I am German and I've turned my back on Fantasy because I prefer the plot and and roles in other genres like Sci-Fi (because I prefer to play well written NPC that provide the plot). I even made it to being part of the organisation of our own Firefly LARP which will take place in fall. But what I wanted to say anyway: Yay - one of my favorite costume RUclipsrs is a fellow LARPer😁
I thought the costume looked cool straight out of the box and then BOOM transformed with all the embellishments you've made it your own. Super cool result
Wooo!!! ConQuest and Burgschneider in one video!? I cannot wait to see you at the event!! This costume turned out absolutely amazing. The way you put it all together is really inspiring!!
I love you trying to workshop things, and also showing that things don't always work -the cape dye and stuff. But what made me laugh was the conclusion "fail", and then immediately "but MY costume is done!" awesomely done!!
Honestly, this is amazing! It’s like the costume of my dreams. The embroidery, the tassels, the bells 🤩 just phenomenal. I love medieval revival and am desperately trying to shoehorn it into my normal clothes and your outfit is sparking so much inspiration in my brain. I love it! I hope you have a wonderful time!
I'm only just under 3 minutes in and already I want to a) start LARPing, and b) go to an event where Hazariel's group is. A battle sommelier! ::chef's kiss::
Is it just me or is this costume crying out for a massive embellished beret? Maximum French! Excellent transformation, looking forward to seeing more coverage of your adventure! Also NotYourCat is proving to be an excellent prop, give him an ear scritch from us
As a German who grew up in the Rhineland-Palatinate, closer to the French border then any other bigger city in Germany and who spent all her summers as a kid in the middle of a forest in Alsace, I really feel the idea of doing everything with lots of wine and cheese also, how come I've never heard of this event? it sounds awesome! My girlfriend and I love going to medieval markets :0 maybe I should really start looking into LARP
I know I saw you somewhere offline! We met at the Conquest 5 years ago. I was one one of the gypsys -magenta skirt, veil and headpiece with organge hair. Many things have changed since then. As artist you need to join the guild of arts "die küsntlergilde" because it isn't allowed to do arts when you're not joining the guild. I hope you have much fun and a magical time during "the crisis of mythodea"!
Loved the upgrade on the medieval clothing purchase. That is my fav project, either dismantling an over-designed/over-bedazzled thrift find or adding my own style with new buttons or lace trim. (This comment is prob 4 weeks too late.) Being that the Marquis' cape is going to get wet, and perhaps due to the environment, an "earthy" tone anyway, I would upgrade first. Add more gold adornments (chains, tassels, trims) and definite repaint those letters metallic gold. If time then make a new cape. After all, he is a Marquis, mais non? He serves extra stuff.♥
When you were massaging your shoes with the grease, my adhd brain went straight to "Silence of the Lambs". "It puts the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again." All soft and subtle.
it turned out so cute! honestly it would be cool to see you get clothes from thrift stores or something to just revamp and embellish into a cool new outfit
@@HazarielAtelier ah that’s a shame! I thought synthetics have to be dyed at very high temperatures though? May not be remembering right but you had yours in a plastic tub right? If you have a stove and a big enough metal pot that should work. I’ve heard good things about Rit DyeMore. Not sure if it’s available in France but it is in the UK so maybe? :)
I love that the two garment halves are so modular! Perfect for people who like to have multiple character's or a varied color palette. Does that shoe grease waterproof your shoes, or is it merely a conditioner?
If you want to help me make more fun projects, you can support my channel on patreon!

You can use beeswax to waterproof your shoes.

You might also want to look up the "Drachenfest" and the "Epic Empires".
Both in Germany and both similarly well organised.
try looking up Conquest
Alternatively, in the UK, there is Profoud Decisions with Empire, if you don't fancy continental Europe!
Exactly!
They are really big in the US. It’s worth the trip!
Cat neighbor take the job of being a fabric weight so things don't blow away very seriously.
A very good supurrrviser🐈
he pay his rent!
Fur is your answer for the cape. One can't be the "big man" without a fur trimmed cape.

It’s beautiful how we can all follow and learn together.
"I watched the NerdForge video and I am an expert now. " Relatable.
@iananelson8256 Her videos are all practically master classes so it checks out.

Since I'm not a big sewer and suck at math I typically just modify a base garment!

The sentiment of: “I watched a tutorial, now I’m a professional” is way to real 😂😂😂
one day, the cat will also get their own costume.
yes
The power of embellishment!! As well as experience with specific products, knowing not to panic when the shoes looked purple
A small tip, put something on the soles of those shoes to increase the grip. Its important to not slip around on the battlefield and get trampled accidentally.

Last year was dubbed the Conquest of Mudodea for a reason XD (also why i did not go it rained non stop and i was like no thx)
That's an amazing costume I half expected the belt to have a pallet knife instead of a dagger 🗡️ 🎨
Attempts to back stab an enemy... jingle jingle jingle ... "oh crap!"
Sweetie after your last video it is fun to see you so UP BEAT and EXCITED about a Costume project.

Maybe add a sheath for your battle brushes?
I think she has one… at 15:10 you can see it on the right of the dagger.
Maybe some kind of bandolier of paints, something highly impractical but full of aesthetic (ie very French😁)
@@ourabouras Ohhh, YES! Please, leave a comment about this, not just this answer, it'll be more visible!
Suggestion to make your group's look even more French: Everyone carries a croissant.
Sauvignon is a good wine … well so French 🤭
Use the Baguettes de magique
Beaujolais!
Oh my god what about a foam croissant throwing weapon!!! or a baguette sword!!! 🤣
Now I'm just imaging everyone in that group carying around an emergency croissant in a designated pouch 😂
Never thought id hear a cat's french mrrhoew, that was adorable....as is the bardcore costume... Apparell

the way bebou appears as soon as you lay down fabric to lay on top of it aww TAT

I love that all the nerdy costume people I follow on social media all all follow each other!! The Greedy Peasant is WONDERFUL!!!
Never thought I’d want to LARP but kind of want to now. Turned out amazing. Also loved that he is using NerdForge’s tutorial lol.

Omg the Greedy Peasant reference took me completely by surprise. Tassels! xD
Same!!!! Tassels for the WIN !
WHAT?! A city of LARP? Have so much fun!! ❤🥐
As a longtime larper I love this! Such a great idea to take something pre-made and add your own flair.
I honestly was skeptical about what your new duds would look like when you pulled them out of the box, but you made them into something spectacular! I’m now eyeballing all my stuff trying to figure out what I can add a bunch of trim to…🤔

Oh j'adoooore, ça rend hyper bien ! L'outfit avec le chapeau et la palette est incroyable xD Trop trop joli et fun ♥

I kind of love the blurple shoes
I like the word "blurple!"😂
Awww, have fun there! I've been attending DrachenFest since 2017 as a Landsknecht. 😊
It's amazing what some embellishment and a dye job can do to elevate an outfit. Love the results!

This costume turned out absolutely amazing. The way you put it all together is really inspiring!!
Brava! You transformed a stock item into another glorious creation!
I had to go back and watch the unboxing because the final transformation was so epic, they didn't even look like the same garments. Amazing work!
Embellishments are always my favorite part of any DIY project.
I cannot wait to see the blog for the larping event!! It sounds like so much fun.

Thanks!
Finally. An event to awaken my harlequin phase 🤡
Next one: Redoing the cape and make it over the top
I think we need a video of your partner making a new cape 🤩
Yay you´re coming to Conquest of Mythodea! Will be there as an NPC at Atteron at the Camp of the Knights. Hope to meet you there!
Your costume looks so much better now that you've decorated it 😍
the bells are definitely the best part imo
WOW! Your decorated costume looks so great! 😍
Using the chair feet to dry your shoes is both amusing and smart. Will keep in mind for future things

Leather grease and elbow grease is all you need!
The yarn embroidery turned out great. Wonderful costuming tip!
You should add another sheath to your belt for a paint brush.
Loved the transformation! Good old chain stitch.
I just imagine your character painting wanted posters among other things in a campaign❤
You had me at bardcore, but then you killed it with tassles and 🪗 concertinas, you mythical medieval angel!
Your additions make such an incredible difference! Gorgeous!
You look fabulous. Can't wait to see the video you create for this amazing sounding event.
The embroidery and styling is EVERYTHING! You look fabulous xx
I love the bright blue shoes! And I love how happy this project made you
