    Nice! Fantastic trick, the wood spacer for the 3/8 or 1/2 J channel works great on my old Tapco, very replicable

    The wood bit is a good idea. I always struggled getting small bends like that.

    Good stuff. I have also used scrap aluminum under the metal i need the narrow bend on. So the hinge has something to contact, and bends the piece i need bent

    How consistent can you make that J-channel using the wood? It looks great for a one-off, but I don't know about making lots of it unless there was a really good reason.

    • @innovatoolsinc
      @innovatoolsinc  Год назад

      Super consistant with the wood piece as it acts as a stopper... if you but against the wood accurately you'll be bang on everytime. The wood prevents any slippage and guarantee accuracy/consistency which you wouldnt have the guarantee of no slippage any other way....

    I bought a stortz perfect bender and it can pretty much bend anything a standard brake cannot.

      Hi Martin, I don't think you'd be able to bend a 3/8'' ''tall'' J-trim with the Stortz Perfect bender unless i'm missing something? it's also much more time consuming to roll the full length than bending on a brake if you can get the full length to fit your brake!

      Perfect bender can make a standing seam panel easily.

      @@martinsanders4087 yes i have one as well but not sure i can do a 3/8" tall J-trim with it? :s theres not enough clearance between the nailing flange and the top flange side

      @@martinsanders4087 Can you make the female leg of the standing seam panel 1" height 1/2" top & 1/2" folding leg? and it'll work with standard stainless slider clips?
      I tried to build my own version of the Perfect Bender but I was having a lot of trouble keeping the rollers perfectly placed on my .060" 3003h14 aluminum coil

    you can bend a cheater from coil... no need for wood

    • @innovatoolsinc
      @innovatoolsinc  11 месяцев назад

      For sure! But there's no waste with the piece of wood and if you want to reduce it down to 3/8" for example you'll need 8+ layers of aluminum!
