    Is it correct that you should NOT use the file guide on the base edge and only use it on the side?? I have seen videos where someone uses it on the base and people are repeatedly saying not to

    Im a intermediate/advanced rider.. no parks, Blacks and blues groomed or ungroomed. Im in the northeast so often come across icy conditions.. What would you recommend my edge to be at 90 or 88 degrees?

    Can you take the gummy stone out and use that as a file for de-tuning the contact points? Is there a proper direction for the file?

    Hi,
    I've got a simple question: How do you know if you are using the 90° side? Does the 90° have to point to the sky or the floor/bottom?
    Kind Regards,
    Bjorn

      There is no answer for this question on the net))) it seems no one knows what they're doing, they just have been told to do so ))) what was your solution?

      it9911 if you look at the tool down the side, you can tell which has the extra angle and which is the 90. You’ll notice the file leans a little bit more on the 88 degree side.

      ho@@robertsanchez4506 how can it be 88 90 and not 88 92

    • @robertsanchez4506
      @robertsanchez4506 3 года назад +1

      @@WillTheFrozen because there are two sides to the file. One that the plastic handle is a straight 90 degree angle and the other side has a bit more angle to make it 88

      Sorry, two sides to the handle.

    If I wanted to tune/detune my edges would I do it on the nose and tail as well?

      @ktk0perry 8 лет назад +2

      +Tony Calo I don't think so, those don't make contact with the snow

      I mean if you plan on doing 3s in the snow and buttering I don’t see why not, since you might have to catch some edges when flipping around. But I guess maybe it isn’t completely necessary. Better safe than sorry.

    Like your delivery style. Was a good vid but some addition detail would have been nice, like the use of a gummy stone 🤷‍♂️ Also I would say that you don't always get a a better job done by 'professionals' especially in resorts. Had some epically bad jobs in most resorts. They just don't seem to care anymore, donit too often.

    Hello, what you said about filing the base edge I do not understand. I was thinking that if you file the base edge say 1 degree , the base edge will be 1 degree off the ground (so higher than the base, not below?) when the ski/ snowboard is lying on the ground? So you do not negative effect the base edge? Is it?

    • @redxiii1810
      @redxiii1810 5 лет назад

      Job Lomans he wasn’t referring to the high red point of the edge of the base edge. Instead he was just talking about wear the edge meets the base and how grinding that down could cause loss in the flushness

    In a v rocker, there is 1 contact point (the center most point), do you detune that ?

    • @skankwave5245
      @skankwave5245 5 лет назад

      Shouldnt you tune that if thats the only contact point?
