- This is my big bad bow mod guide. This thing has a ton of power in its spring and plunger system and I direct it to the barrel by removing the large air restrictor. I then show you how to do a really basic CPVC barrel so that it'll shoot micro darts and stephans.
I am relly pleased with the results. With stock darts, I am getting 95 feet and the arrows even get more distance now.

Cutting the triforce was an incorrect move, over time that gaping maw damaged the rubber buttplugy part.

Thank you so much! My BBB had been sitting in my closet because all my arrows broke. Then I ran across your mod tutorial! If you have a vulcan belt, you don't need the pvc barrel. Just stick the belt into the gun and it should fire perfectly, this also allows you to reload faster. I hope this helps!
If you don't have pvc pipe. You can also use a shell from a vulcan ammo belt. It fits perfect

... I just got an old Hypersight BBB, and at first glance, it looks like Mega darts will fit after merely removing the air restrictor.

@Joshroxsomuch It can only shoot arrows with an adapter for the CPVC to the original barrel. The shots are much better now though due to the lack of air restrictor.

Yes, It's simple actually. All you need to do is cut the orange part and then attach (with your choice of adhesive) a small piece of cpvc to it. Next, you need to adapt a cpvc coupler to your Big bad Bow. If you are unsure how to do this, PM me and I can direct you to several sources showing you how. Essentially, you are making an "arrow shooting attachment.
+Piisceiss It has to be CPVC. It fits differently. Also, check the outer diameter.
@TheLilevan No, but cpvc can be found at local hardware stores. Just make sure it's 1/2 inch CPVC not pvc.
Question: How do I mod an old Nerf Bow n' Arrow to shoot both BBB Arrows and Micro Darts? I want to shoot micros without losing the ability to shoot arrows or BBB missiles
Make it so that the CPVC is flush with the end of the original barrel.
cpvc is smaller than PVC, but be sure the dart fits the inside of the cpvc. Sometimes the inside it too small or too rouch for a dart to fit inside, and you have to hollow it out a bit on a lathe or with a drill.
plus, as an added bonus, the arrows that it came with still fit just fine without having to remove the micro-dart barrel
When you took the air restrictor out, you took off part of it and put it back in the gun. You don't have to do that. When I modded mine, I took out the whole air restrictor. To make sure the barrel would stay together, I used duck tape. Perhaps if you took that part off and applied duck tape to hold the barrel together, your gun would have a little more power.
Hey guys I just made mine a new and better way! so if u got a resistance band laying around (that u don't need) take the plastic part where the part that the rope thing goes though the plastic tube take the foam and the tube and put the tube on the end of the robe. IT REALLY WORKS ( maybe not if u got the wrong chord.

Did this, got more spring power in my bow, got 170 ft max distance with streamlines. Now its time for a hopper clip.
josh bacon I had a nerf bow, don't remember if it is the one you are mentioning, but the tip of this bow that held the arrows sort of coned in a little bit at the tip which didn't allow smaller darts to feed in so i cut the coned tip off and it can fire normal darts and the arrows now. Maybe a similar mod will help you :)
@longshot686 Yes, but a different coupler would allow for other darts
rather than completely removing the AR, I would just reduce it as much as possible so even if I accidentally vacuum load a dart it won't get stuck, and that way the CPVC pipe is not needed unless you want to fire streamline darts as the attached barrel is already just the right size for the micro-darts

well, I suppose it is a little large so the dart ends up flying off target unless you're really close, but seriously, just drill or punch a few holes in the AR and if you're going to use a CPVC pipe cut it about 1/2 inch shorter than the barrel and gently tap it into place inside the barrel using a mallet and a dowel so a dart can sit with the tip flush with the end of the barrel, it'll use less material, get a bit more range and reload faster and easier
for aesthetics, try to make a bow conversion thingy, from a actual bow to a crossbow type thingy, that would be awesome

if you cut your peice of cpvc to about the length of a stock micro, or just as long as the original barrel, you will have MUCH less deadspace and have the most out of that powerful stock spring. :)
The pegs, your knife method is asking for finger trouble. I always filed them down.

on mine i took an old crayola marker ( the big ones and hollowed out the internals of the marker and put that into the barrel of the BBB and then i can fit the clip system darts in it and also shoot BBB arrows
Is it normal for my bow to NOT be able to shoot arrows? Or am I just stupid and there's somehow, a certain way to shoot the blaster? Help pls.

Ebay, I got 4 10-dart refills for about twelve bucks, shipped... I even found Mega whistlers, 2 6-dart refills for about seven bucks, shipped.
You do realize that this was 3 years ago, right?
cpvc costs like $2.50 for like 10ft at Home Depot and a coupler is like 25 cents

I found my old 1998 Hyper Sight (same as the BBB) from when I was a kid and want to bring it back into service. So I have two questions.
First, would fitting a much shorter (flush with the stock orange barrel) pcv sleeve effect performance?
Second, would the old gun have an air restrictor like the new one? When dry fired it sounds like it doesn't.
Instead of a cpvc barrel I used a crayola tube. It works just like the cpvc and it's cheaper

i tried using pvc ,half inch of course, but it was too wide to fit the barrel is cpvc smaller? anyone who knows please answer i want to use this gun sooooooooooo bad.
when i did this mod my BBB will shoot but it would always jam the jam is caused by the rubber bit attached to the plunger slamming itself into the ring of the air restrictor is there a possible way to fix that? if so can someone please tell me
Is there any point in using the "bow parts"? Or are they just for show?
wait wait wait, what do the pegs look like inside the barrel at 4:04? If i do take out those pegs, could i still shoot out arrows that come with the bow?

Mine already has the bow parts on.I managed to pry it open temporarily while doing the mod, but now the bows screwed up. I'm a huge Drac fan, somone PLEASE tell me how to get these parts off.

Hey so that thing Sticking out of the barrel is the air resrtictor? If you take it out will it be able to fire megas?
i tried this and it didnt work it went 25 ft but then i put the restrictor back in and it went 34 ft
i left the air restrictor with the 3 section thing you cut off out of the bow,will it function just as well?

The numbers he gave are random estimation of his. He didn't really measure them. He probably meant 45ft when he said 95ft.

I modded mine my way, and I detached useless parts to make it easly cock, and a stock.
For the Barrel? If so, then I think it would be unpractical in my respectful opinion.
