Man, what an awesome time, beautiful spider, and great honor to have you out to hand deliver our very first tarantula! Cant thank you enough, Richard!!!
Getting pooped on by a Tarantula has been the highlight of my year!!! Thanks for the awesome experience and bringing us such a beautiful animal! We'll make sure to take really good care of her.
- Thomas, Reach Out Reptiles
How cool is this!! I really enjoyed meeting A. chalcodes in Arizona…one of the top species I would love to keep!
I love seeing kids interact with spiders.
This is such a lovely idea for a series! I’m really enjoying this video thus far, and it’s kind of a really nice intro to keeping the species. Nice job! I also feel like it really shows off your personality to its very best too, you’re so friendly and outgoing and a really good teacher, so this style of video really suits you :)
Aww thanks
Great content Richard! Just a side note, Petkos jumping spider was named kiwi. But it's definitly a better name for Aphonopelma chalcodes. :D Looking forward to your next video. *cheers!
This is such a fun idea for a series, and such a great video! Two of my favorite exotic pet content creators joining forces to show everyone that tarantulas aren't scary.
❤😊
Aphonopelma chalcodes, commonly known as the western desert tarantula, Arizona blond tarantula or Mexican blond tarantula is a species of spider belonging to the family Theraphosidae. It has a limited distribution in the deserts of Arizona and adjacent parts of Mexico but can be very common within this range.
Beautiful Tarantula. This is great to see you reach out to other hobbyists and getting other's known to tarantulas and someone else educated on them. The more knowledge out there to the community the less fear about these animal's. Great to see this Richard!!
I adore my A. chalcodes. Such a beautiful lady.
Glad to see the reptile & arachnid community come together! Garret is a awesome dude, his dwarf retics are 🔥. Awesome video, Richard 🕷🕸🖤
Wow what an amazing reaction to the new pet over there at Reach Out Reptiles and amazing gift! Recently because of finding your channel, I myself fell in love with tarantulas which I never expected. I've always loved reptiles and now truly wish I found these 8 legged beauties sooner! Just got 8 slings and definitely want more... seriously I can't imagine what an honor this was!
This is super cool! Love that you are spreading the tarantula love. I decided to get a tarantula to help with my fear of spiders, and I gotta say, it sure can work! Super cool :)
Hello great video information Richard
This was so cool and ROR is awesome, great video!! 🕷♥️🐍
What a great collab! I love ROR and I love that he now has a Tarantula 🖤 Now you need a super dwarf retic lol. I have been researching them after I found Garrett's channel. And I found Reach Out Reptiles through Adam from Wickens Wicked Reptiles.
Thanks Jamie!
Spiders are good for the soul. There was an outreach zoo in Cook County Il when i was a kid. Animale outreach program type thing. They had a tarantula with them. I forget the species.
What a cool idea! I hope he loves her as much as we all would. I've wanted an Arizona blonde since I first saw one at a local pet store a few years back. Absolute beauties 😊🤘
Very interesting video. I've always been amazed by Garrett's mind. He makes some interesting enclosures. I'm glad you two could Collab for a video
hey dude.. because of you i got 1st tarantula a mexican red kneeded called talula thanks so much for all you info and videos
This is an amazing video! Excited for ROR but also, I learned so MUCH about tarantula keeping!! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. 🙂
Reptile people and spider people collaboration is a paradox. You are gonna rip the fabric of the universe. 😂
What an awesome idea
Nice one Richard, I have often thought of doing something like this in schools, my idea would be to go into schools & do a Q & A with the children in hope that it would cure any fears that the children may have
Brilliant video Richard.
I love this 🫶 spreading the T love 🥰 my son and I have just come across your channel and are doing research for his first T, he’s 12 and is desperate for one! This one is beautiful and is underestimated for its stunningly docile nature. Thank you so much for your awesome videos! Xxxxxx
So I give it about 5 years we will be seeing that lil girl with her own series.
Love it!
I love Garrets content and what he does! I saw him at Tinley but didn't really have a chance to say hey. Wish I could have a SD Retic but sadly they are banned where I'm currently living. Garret is the guy tho! Super fun vid.
I loved this video!
Nice video Richard.
Love the T chalcodes.
Saw them in the wild on 2 Arizona vacations.
Really cool and pretty Ts
This was great idea
Late to this but how cool that you are bringing people the joy of tarantulas ❤ your the santa of spiders 😁 merry webmas 😊
Richard, you should let ROR return the favor and deliver a SD Retic or African House Snake to you. 😉
He sent me home with an African House Snake....video coming soon!
Love this idea guys ! So fun
Awesome video mate 🕷️
Love the collabs!!
Awesome stuff man I finally made the jump myself I have a phidipus regius jumper. An avicularia avicularia. And a ghost mantis on the way. Wish me luck man I'm stepping into new territory but I've been doing a lot of research
@SerpaDesign needs one next! lol
Super cool video i realy injoy yuor video’s
Awesomeness video as always 🕷💚🧡❤💙🕷
This was a great video, I can't believe the cameraman for the "Spider King " has never held a T. 😆You need more reasons for videos like this or maybe a donation to a child that likes them?
Here in Australia thankfully we have strict rules about exotic species to try to protect our unique native species. I would love that spider but we can't get them.
Richard I have kept spiders in the past but never gave them a water bowl because I assumed they got their moisture from their food, as i said on another video our red back (Latradectis hasseltii) we had for 11 years and she got her water from flies that we fed her. I kept geckoes that did not drink water but would lick up the 'dew" I sprayed. I am asking out of curiosity, Do they actually need a water bowl? On a side note I knew a guy who kept death adders and had a fixed water bowl and he had to wear gloves to clean it because the venom gets in the bowl when the snake drinks and one day he felt woozy after cleaning out the bowl bare handed.
I can't understand that she only need 3 crickets a month. I used to feed my smaller funnel web (Atrax robustus) a cockroach every few days, our small red back would eat a fly every couple of days. I know how they feed and assume they all have some cytotoxic qualities in their venom to break down the cells so they can drink but unlike reptiles and mammals and maybe other groups I doubt if an arachnid would get obese.
He should have given you a super dwarf , or at least a house snake
Awesome idea to spread the gospel!!
Their daughter tho.. natural born handlerl!!
I’d love a T. Never owned one, most species are restricted where I live and no stores carry them
Two quick questions my wife and I picked up our first two tarantulas an avicularia avicularia and an Pterinochilus murinus my questions are what size enclosure from tarantula cribs should we get, we have them in zoomed glass terrariums however we are not fans of the screen lids, we are brand new to the hobby but we have been watching your videos forever and are excited to grow with our new species, we just want to do everything properly, and thanks to your care guides we have most down except the enclosure sizing, plus we can really distinguish between what the size of our spiders are as far as sling or juvenile they are each over 1.5inches
Hey I have a question. Why do tarantulas pick a spot to be the trash can in the enclosure and move all the bolas to that spot?
Hey Richard whats the longest u had a tarantula in pre molt my a geniculata white knee has been in pre molt almost 4 months as a juvenile probably 3 inch if that helps at what point should I worry
Richard I have a b hamorii male and I live in the pgh area . Not sure if you could use it . I could meet you half way . And I don’t want anything for him .
👏🏻👏🏻🕷👏🏻👏🏻
Hey Richard what do you recommend me get out of arizona blonde Mexican Red knee or curly hair for my first tarantula
