I love the woman with those special dogs from Africa. What are their special requirements? She responds...can't be stressed out with large groups of people, can't be passed around, can't sell them to the public. As they are at a huge people filled expo buying and selling exotic pets.
She came across as stupid... Jackals are basically African Coyotes. I've seen them many times in South Africa and Namibia. They are hardy critters that are considered pests where they're native and typically are shot on sight. The likely reason you need a permit to own one is the risk of it being released into the wild and becoming invasive.
@@chelonia7575 well I don't think banning these animals is a great solution either. I'm definitely against taking them out of the wild except for breeding initiatives, but for the population already in captivity they all need a place to live and folks to look after them. I just think these expos have to be extremely stressful for most of the animals there. I have a chameleon and he gets stressed if there's more than two people in my room so I can only imagine how stressed they would be at an expo with thousands of people.
@@chelonia7575 I couldnt agree with you more, but with me,that goes for crocs and gators. Not pets in ANY sense of the word. I've caught, kept, bred snakes for over 30 years.....the direction our hobby is going is deplorable. The police and Animal Rescue went in and removed all of them and RIGHTLY SO. When interviewed by a local newspaper, the cop said some of the cages were not secure. You guys should definitely consider going to the Nashville Exotic Pet Expo. There will be so much there and I can’t wait to go. There will be almost everything there from reptiles to birds to mammals to inverts. Definitely consider going
I’ve been here before, it’s great! Definitely recommend checking out Frazier Farms booth if you do go, I’m sure they’d let you interview them about the mammals they have for sale too.
Hi Dav Thanks for your visit at the Expo. Emily, and Ed did an excellent job. A nice variety of birds, reptiles, and spiders. The African puppy was so cute, and well behaved for their first animal expo. The werewolf cat was very different looking. 🦎🐍❤️ Cindy
I live in Texas so we've been having temps in the 80s F. When they talked about things warming up and being 21 degrees, I had this moment of wondering why they were using Celsius instead of Fahrenheit, lol.

True. And no offense to the kid but there was a lot of mistakes in their bird care. It’s kinda sad but I guess the majority of people haven’t realized how to properly take care of a parrot.
Great show! I usually only look for reptile shows, but now I'm going to have to check around for general exotics expos! I had heard of werewolf cats, but it's neat to see them! I'm glad it mostly seems to be a recessive trait, so they don't risk inbreeding to reproduce it. I also love Lydia and her jumping spider stuff! The hobby has lots of room for enclosure innovations and I'm already in favor of magnetic decor. I love what she's done! I had to re-watch her segment to look at her stuff more closely. I'm happy to see true spiders at any show :) I'm deciding what type of true spider I should get (other than a jumper.)
