I can't thank you enough for he support, have some amazing things coming up this year and will be investing some funds in the channel like you know.....lighting.
i only liked the high tuning on this one. {maybe because its a 13'} . But Dave's snares are usually killers. Was there any reverb on your mix? It sounds a bit dry.
Ah my workhorse snare. What after market snare wires would you recommend? I still have the original carbon for high tension but had to replace the stainless wires and used the 13 inch fat cat stainless
I am looking through the Puresound catalogue to see if I can make something work for the stainless and carbon steel. If something can't be adapted I might need to reach out to Bibin etc.
Puresound concert wires in 13 inch would be worth a try. But I think they only make the 14. From what I read the signature wires are a certain length. For me 14s are too long and 13s are a little short but they work. 16 strands is a bit much but I wouldn’t mind clipping a few wires off the sides
@@IAMDRUMMER I have tried almost every snare wires and, in my opinion, PEARL are the best. I find the SOUNDPURE are thicker, therefore, they are not as sensitive, the sound is more rough. With the PEARL and even GIBRALTARS, the buzz is more refined and clear. Just my experience.
Doesn't Yamaha's higher lines have some evolution of Nouveau lugs like the PHX series? I wish some company went and actually started manufacturing parts for these old discontinued drums.
@@IAMDRUMMER You mean the square golden lug, right? I much preferred the Nouveau lugs for Yamaha, despite the Stage Custom ones being made of that plastic material and much harder to replace. Oh well...
That’s the ones, even now the new single point lugs still worry me on the more recent signature models. I know I harp on about but if I need a DW spare part I can walk in to my local drum shop and get a lug, these I can’t and usually if I can order one it’s months of waiting.
Dude I’ve been watching your channel for years. Your content is superb and criminally under viewed. Can’t wait till the algorithm kicks in!

Great playing man. Drum sounds killer. 🙏
Thanks brother, sounds brilliant in so many ways....better lugs too :)
I have this same snare drum 13" inch tuned high and no problem. Great drum. Quite difficult to find too.
If it has these lugs tuning student be a problem under high load......
One of the best low tunings I can remember on this channel.
It's great but in person there was this weird "honk" that was happening and I was able to tune out most of it but still sounds very PHAT!

No verb just the room mics, it’s a 14” by the way but I prefer the 13” though.

I have to try something/anything as I have several Weckl snares all needing replacement wires.

They do and it’s a much better design but this lug is so much more reliable over the original version of the classic MC lug.

Noice... and Phat ,great tone ... Bonza 🎼🎶💯✔😎👍 Be good ..
It’s pretty schmick drum, needs new wires though.
@@IAMDRUMMER Lets get a few old Toasters with coil wire, and stick em on that bad Boy .. ✔😎👍
This made me laugh way to hard.....I want to try it.

Did you get your system issue sorted?
I'm sorry, but can someone please inform me as to what "EQ Pos" means?
Eq Pods is a dampening system like Moongel except they leave no residue on the head and are only tacky on one side.
No need to crank the shit out of those lugs, you can accomplish a tight sounding crack without breaking the lugs ;)
I’m not worried about this model and the lugs compared to the gold maple custom ones, just want to find the 13” model of this.
