Great job, Sir. I know, you probably do not care what I think, but I appreciate your short and intelligent introduction to the matches, then right into the action. This is only my second video of yours, and I will subscribe immediately. Keep up the great work.
The point of a5 is more likely to prevent b4 by white, that's why Bogoljubov responded with b3--had he started with a3, black could've gone a4, freezing the queen's side pawns. Playing a5 with the idea to go Nb4 is a silly plan when white can just prevent it with a3.
"So, if you want to play like Alekhine, it is very difficult. He managed to sacrifice five major pieces starting the game with only 3." That's just.... wow.
Thank you Caleb for this very famous game. Could you please change your board configuration to a lighter set-up (ie board theme : 2nd RH column and 6th rang from top) thank you. I believe this is the best for viewers.
It's definitely playable and more popular nowadays but it should come with a warning label. Compared to 2.d5 and 2.Nf6 it is much easier to make a mistake early on
0:34 How dare you roasting my loved dutch Caleb. HOW DARE YOU!!!1!!!1!1!!!

The late great Irving Chernev claimed that this was the greatest game ever played. But it has to be said that Boguljubow played badly.
