Funny enough, this song can have 2 meanings in one.
In French, "La Seine" has the same prononciation as "La Scène".
La Seine is a River, which is known to cross Paris.
La Scène is the name used for a stage.
So, in this song, they are enjoying the voyage around Paris on a boat through La Seine, but they are also enjoying their time, on the scène, a multi meaning song. :)

I think steve reviews (another youtuber) had brought this up b4. I do also believe this is true because how closely related and connected everythig is but i do have an ounce of doubt as it does seem a bit too far fetched that the creators of a monster in paris thought of this while in the making.

Le seul problème est que la chanson française se base sur un jeu de mot entre Seine et scène qui est impossible en anglais, mais cette version reste fantastique

I didn't know there was an english version of "La Seine". I am bit sad that the translation cancelled the pun on "la Seine" (The river) and la scène (The stage of cabaret) but we can't keep everything when translating a song. And gosh this cover is great and even better than the original version (I mean the French one) about the singing. Great alchemy between Jon's and your voice. Really it's amazing. Bravo :)
The film was made in both french and english. English being slightly later. I only knew about the song by watching it on tv so thats how ik it. It probally got put in the dark for the english because we have the american animated films that boomed around the time that a monster in paris come out. We rarely ever see even our own english animated films because of these big companies like disney, pixar and dreamworks. So seeing something like a monster in paris is more of a one of rare charm for us.
It could work as a pun on "listen" which sounds similar to "La Seine", as in "listen to my song".
The way Jon's voice plays so well with Anna's is just, perfection. It's so rare to hear a gentleness to Jon's voice and I love it

Monster in Paris happens to be one of my little sister's favorite movies. The amount of times I've had to watch it is ridiculous, but this song had always made it worth it.

A Monster in Paris is a gem of a movie that is one of my favorite foreign animated films with a special place in my heart; it’s s the reason why I love listening to the guitar and other instruments. Also, La Seine and I is my favorite song of the film because of the energy it brings, and you and Johnathan did a great job making this cover.
I don’t know how I missed this when it came out, but I heard it earlier today and now I can’t stop listening to it. As much as I love his metal music, this song really lets you hear his voice and its complexities.

I remember seeing the movie A Monster in Paris with my cousin many many years ago. We went to a grocery store and picked it from one of those red box things (where you can rent DVD movies. Idk if it’s an American thing or if there around elsewhere lol). And I specifically remember becoming addicted to this song. I don’t know what it was, but this song stood out to me as a kid and I made sure to write it down. It’s great to know others remember this song too
