Ted Nugent is the ultimate rock and roller. Grew up listening to him on Mind Blower speakers. Anybody remember those. Back in the 70's they were the ultimate car speakers.

My guess it because of the fact it says he refuses to sell his soul is prob the reason it did not get put on any of his albums. Pretty sure in order to get any record deals you had to sign up with the Freemasons. And that is pretty much selling your soul.

I remember when this aired... it was a long time ago but this is what I can recall: it was part of a TV show called Rock & Roll Tonight, and it was simulcast on the radio... I actually recorded it on cassette then transferred the 2 Nugent songs to another cassette and got rid of the rest. The other song he did was Oh Carol (Chuck Berry cover). I still have the cassette but long ago copied it to CD then digitized it for Ipod etc. so I've listened to both songs many many times over the years. My recollection is that this was some sort of one-off TV show, but that doesn't seem to make a lot of sense so maybe I was just unaware of the other episodes. Anyway I remember thinking all the other guests were lame new wavey crap (definitely know the Psychadelic Furs were prominently featured, whom I was positively averse to) and Nugent was like a blast of fresh air. What is cut out here is the very very appreciative chanting before the disembodied host starts talking (you can hear her a bit at the start of this clip).... it was "Noo-Jent! Noo-Jent!" over and over and Ted says "thank you very much rock and rollers I WITH ya! Then "let'l hear if for the Right Band, them rock and roll dogs the Right Band!" He was referring to the backing band here, who also backed some if not all of the other bands on the show. I also remember thinking they are so happy to actually have some "real" rock music vs. the other junk that night. I loved this song and figured it must be something coming out on his next album, but it never did. Weird.

in the late 70's i saw nugent at the omni in atlanta georgia. this was one of my first big concerts to watch. The first song was pretty good i thought, but along about the third or fourth song i was convinced i was witnessing a real rock and roll show. St holmes was fantastic dave was kick ass. cliff was spot on. i think dave was hanging around berkley lake area at the time...it was the double live gonzo album. im one of the noticible whistlers heard in the background rather loud at times. the key changes were spectacularthe band was a good show...saw derik at po richards a time or to long after that..pretty dayum neat, man....still waiting on the book....

The guitar Ted is using in this video was given to RUclips member ByrdmanSteve by Ted who does some really good covers of his songs. It looks like the original studded holes are covered up with a gold plaque and the Gibson TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece on that Howard Roberts Fusion is moved back about 3" to facilitate the dive bomb and vibrato effects he gets on his Gibson Byrdlands(which he temporarily retired them from tour duty from about 1981-1994). Check out the dive bomb and vibrato use with the heel of his right hand at 2:37 2:53 3:25 and 5:37.
