As parents, we've worked very hard to raise him to be the wonderful person he's growing into. I appreciate all u said above, makes complete sense and I've experienced firstgand that apathy from troublemaker students and their parents. I'll never understand why those kids get coddled and remain in regular classes, allowed to continue causing disruptions, when school is a privilege. I think the schools just want the govt funding for those sped kids. The greed and apathy is everywhere. 😔 Just the other day, I was subbing 6th grade. As the class heads out for lunch, I notice a girl lagging behind, fidgeting desperately with the zipper of her backpack that remains in the classroom while at lunch. I ask her what she's doing, and she shows me a padlock and little key (from a diary) and tells me that it won't work bc someone has now broken the zipper the padlock holds secure. I say Why the lock? She says a classmate robbed her of all her stuff in her backpack. Mind u, we live in a small mountain town of maybe 600 people. I was so sad for her. No consequences on the little stuff in the beginning and it builds from there. The kids nowadays have hurt-feel-ioma and can't take criticism. They need to learn how to rationalize situations and stand up for themselves without killing someone. This is why a 2 parent household is important. In most cases, the government has forced the man out of the home and the Mom is working 2 jobs and can't watch them just to put food on the table, Sad! I grew up around guns. My great-grandfather & uncles took us all hunting. I'm a woman. Taught us to not be afraid of weapons but to take them serious and not treat them like toys and not to point them at anything or anyone without knowing the consequences. We've stopped teaching responsibility and consequences. We need to get back to those values and back to valuing life. My heart weeps but tears aren't going to change a damn thing.
That is in a different time with a different frame of mindset. In today's time, people, children, are not always mentally well or mature enough to deal with stress and anger or whatever. Politicians, the NRA, and yes, many parents need to stop acting like they don't see what's happening. The world has become so unsafe at our own will. We like to pretend nothing is wrong it's just a few sick individuals. No, well, today, crazy tomorrow. We're just continuing to allow these things to happen because the politicians, the right, the NRA, and anybody else that feel guns make them who they are or safer won't do the right thing.Guns are not making us safer, because if so why are the bad guys killing the goid guys?
I also grew up around guns, hunting was practically required in my town. We had after school gun safety classes in the cafeteria. My dad never locked up his guns, I could say that it was ok because I was taught to be responsible, but the truth is that I just didn't care about them. One day a woman in town dropped off her two sons, ages 11 and 12, and their 12 year old friend to go hunting together. Somehow one of the brothers accidentally shot and killed the friend. Those kids had to grow up with that guilt, when it was the mom's fault they were out there to begin with. Teaching children to be responsible around guns doesn't negate the need for responsible parenting and proper supervision.
Bad kids are not the responsibility of the school or law enforcement. The PARENT(S) ARE RESPONSIBLE. If they don't raise their kids with any kind of empathy for others, letting the kids think everything is, "all about me", and they become self-centered monsters and worse, and who think that they alone are victims and need not care about life and laws, that is when senseless violence happens. These kids don't value life, property or have any self-control or values. It's not just that they were raised badly, it's that they weren't raised at all.
Who decides who's important? We, as the US, need to address these issues without egos n politics. Things have to change, the laws need to change to allow law enforcement have more abilities to take more precaution actions. I can hear the outcry already, but how else we can stop ANOTHER school or mass shooting. My heart bleeds for all involved, we've lost family to the gun violence. Senseless deaths😢

@@jacquelinerobinson2122 what do you suggest? Come and take them
I also grew up around guns, hunting was practically required in my town.
@@jacquelinerobinson2122 Good job blaming everything but the individual.
@area.man. Did you see I said "Well today, crazy tomorrow. Not mentally able to handle mental stress or mature enough." That's all the individual.
Im so damn sick of y'all thoughts and prayers. Do something over 20 yrs of children being unalived.
My prayers go out to all family members of the victim 🙏 😪
It will not be seriously addressed until someone of importance loses a loved one to gun violence
Every parent that loses a child is someone important!!! What are you talking about!

How many do we have to see in 1 week?
No safety precautions at that school?
Why?
The officer said there was an SRO in the school…
Wait for the whole story. It's either bullying or someone "disrespected" someone. Pathetic that you need metal detectors at school doors.
Another incident, wtf ?
It’s a mental health issue. Can we all agree on that?
Too much stress in school. Not enough playtime. Specially in high schools. Children should be allowed to be children. They’re being turned into robots.
Absolutely not. Every tragedy is NOT a mental health issue. That phrase is thrown around to frequently. Bad parenting and entitlement are major factors. If the shooter did have a mental condition, then where did he get the gun? Why didn't the parents intervene and get the help needed.

Yes, but that is not the AGENDA for the COMMUNISTS that have taken over public education. The agenda is what you are witnessing in schools.
The Georgia event wouldn’t have been prevented. That state has no red flag laws, no requirement for guns to be locked up and no age limit on the use of AR-15 style guns. So no, it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Fellow Americans, I know you want to protect yourselves and your families from this kind of horror. Do any of you realize that we have more guns in the U.S. than our population?
No joke. Other countries do much better than us without totally restricting gun owner ship. Wanna step up? Nobody is after your second amendment right. But, we need responsible laws.
Seems personal, which somehow makes it seem slightly better than if the kid had shot at any random individuals he could find. "Guys guys, don't worry. It doesn't seem to be random. It appears the individuals had a prior issue w/ one another and the perpetrator took it way, way too far. But it *does not* appear like they ever intended to continue trying to find more victims, so we can take solace in that!"
People take solace where they can, I suppose, but I think there is far too much fretting nowadays about whether what could have happened, or could happen, is even worse than what did or is expected to happen, when the line of unacceptability is clearly crossed either way.
@@maremma14 Neither type of violence is desirable, but as a parent, I would be more concerned with indiscriminate gun violence. I understand that unintended targets are often hit during personal disputes, but random, indiscriminate gun violence is terrifying.

How is that possible? Does that mean another child could have it?
Lawmakers better not say, more securtiy is needed cause there were security at the previous school and it did not prevent it from happening. Serious talk needs to take place now, not later anymore

Instead of blaming the gun in yet another pointless debate do something that can actually make a difference
This doesnt even bother me anymore. What is sad is that everyone is hoping the government will fix this somehow when it is clear the government or media doesnt care about you or your children
Just keep paying taxes so they can help Ukraine, Israel and illegals. Thats where they get the big kickbacks and power
Everything you wrote is dispicable and or wrong. The fact that any kid killed doesn't bother you says a lot about your sad life. And, "everyone" is not hoping the government will "fix this." It's not a "government" issue. They have no controls over school districts. Furthermore, without children and adults there is no country and no government. Every person in government was once a child and most have children. Calming that" they don't care about children" is just stupid. And, your general ignorance and conspiratorial notions that "they" get kickbacks for war efforts or anything is simply silly. Have another Mountain Dew, watch some more wrestling and pray to your orange god.
How can government start to solve the problem when they can’t even begin any meaningful conversation number 1 and why do people look to the government to begin with #2. I thought folks like you want less government.

Follows on the heels of the one the other day. Be very aware if you have kids in school, these evil incidents seem to come in clusters. GAWD, what a thing to say. There was a day, the worst that would happen to you if you got in a fight with another kid is a bloody nose, or a head wound if you got in a rock fight or dirt clod fight. Now, you are dead frequently.
I cannot appreciate my childhood enough. Free to come and go to school, never a care. Parents going in and out of the school, no checks, no metal detectors and brining cupcakes to class for a kids birthday party. Never having to fear the police, they were there to help us. I could take off all day, someone in the neighborhood knew where I was and would let my mom know. Leave at 9 in the morning, come home for dinner, sometimes lunch. Go out, on my own, to the local stable and ride all day, no worries.
We had guns in our house, my dad was a competitive target shooter, and skeet shooter. We shot guns from the time we were seven or eight years old, we learned safety, and the guns were put away the ammo was locked away, NOT with the guns and we respected that. My dad was an NRA member and if he were alive today, he would NOT be.
Why ARE WE allowing life to BE like this?
WE aren't. This is being thrust upon us.
