My brother gifted me the Slö about 4 xmas ago. I really appreciated the gift, but I didn't quite made the most out of it. A few days later, I walked in on him noodling around with it. He doesn't even play guitar, but he made it sound pretty good!
Ahhhh, good to see that Walrus Audio using their 10,000 lumen LED to not only let you know the pedal is on, but also any aircraft flying by. Nothing like staring into the heart of a white dwarf star while trying to adjust some settings as your corneas are scorched. lol
Ordered one from you yesterday, was delivered earlier. Only had about an hour with it so far but it's absolutely magical. Between this and the CXM 1978 I think I have all the reverb I'll ever need.
Pete kept cracking me up playing the Friends theme! He's playing all of this deep pace explorer stuff, and then out of nowhere: da dadada da da dadada. You're a mad lad Pete!
Nice pedal. I'm always glad to see that purple Telecaster being used. Telecasters are better than Strats to me and I love the sound of the single coil ones plus they can be used for any genre I think. Players like Joe from Gojira used a Fender Telecaster for some metal songs, and Julian Lage uses a Telecaster for Jazz which sounds modern to me while still being good for Jazz unlike the sound of Strats which I think is bad for Jazz.
In Swedish Slö means slow/drowsy and Slöer means "more slow/drowsy". I think I need to go to London and take a detour to Andertons for this christmas sale :)
My only quibble with the pedal is it has a very identifiable sound that you can’t get away from when it’s on. That’s actually a compliment for a pedal but in the case of ambient music if this pedal is a part of your rig it’s going to color your sound heavily. And if other artists use it you’ll all sound similar. Being aware of this is important if you want your own identifiable sound. I bought one a year ago and really ran into this. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past it and returned it. Don’t get me wrong though, it’s an awesome pedal and hearing it again makes me want to buy it again. So now I’m confused 😅🤷♂️
What is it with pedal manufacturers putting such bright leds on the pedals? On a dark stage you have no chance of seeing the position of the controls. I have a Fender one that doubles as stage uplighting...
FYI: When listening to the effect, the volume level is way too low - compared to that of the commentary - except after about 14:42 of the video. Perhaps more subtle / lower-key effects like this one just need a bit more volume in the audio mix. Enjoyed it nonetheless.
Andertons usually do good reviews but this is not one of them. They made this pedal sound crap! I recommend checking out the review for this pedal by John Nathan Cordy. He does this pedal justice.
I think this is the sort of pedal that needs understated playing. More chords, fewer notes. That's more Cordy's style. Pete's an excellent player but a bit busier for sure. It certainly wasn't the best demo but still there are moments of magic. Mine arrived a few hours ago and it's beautiful.
My neighbor gave me the smaller pedal when he started moving, SOL reverb....that pedal talks to me, moans, and it can get freaky .... :o very cool ambiance
There's too many of the same pedals, sorry. "And this adds an octave up" - wow. A shimmer. Like the one we have in 46969 other pedals since 35+ years. Next they come up with a drive pedal, where you can do something with the mids and a delay where you can blend 8th and 32,5ths. BORING!
this one actually does some pretty different stuff, but i dont think these two took enough time to really learn the pedal and show it off to its full capabilities. the way they were apparently oblivious to the depth knob also really made me a bit nervous. i generally like their reviews, but i think they kind of screwed the pooch on this one.
@@sagittated I realise that, and I am used to how Pete uses e.g. The Dane so I don’t think that’s what I’m hearing. It sounds like digital saturation from the reflections to me.
Nope, I don't like it. Sounds extremely dark. After watching your shoot out with Rabea recently, I think I tend to agree with him on several points. I don't really want or care for all the weird artifacts and shimmer going on, this one is going to be a hard pass from me, and I'm in the market for a new stereo reverb.
Seems just about every pedal coming out these days is expensive. I'd love the Strymon Big Sky and the Brig Delay , but that's well over £500 maybe nearer 600 for 2 pedals !
thats just nothing but annoying and boring again, pedals have become the worst commercial rip off i have ever seen so far in the world of guitar gear 🥱
The amount of depth and width to the rain mode was wild. Im listening on macbook pro speakers and I felt like it was all around me.
The Slö always deserved a stereo version, so happy to finally see it. Sounds great!

😂 10/10
I ran into this when I bought one a year ago. It hurt my damn eyes. I returned it for other reasons though (see comment)
😂😂😂😂
That’s the same as my earthquaker spatial delay. Thing blinds me at times.

Whoever does the time stamps, thank you!
My dream would be a *ARP-87 + Fathom* combination. They go together so well.
This exists

God I love how you have to have a college degree for this pedal. 10/10 sounds. Cant wait to get one!
6:06 “Press sustain again and the pad will … Decrescendo? As if that’s a word” I have never heard a more guitar player sentence 😂

You can't go wrong with Reverbs. Thanks for that!
Not sure i like it as much as the big sky, but it sure sounds good!
At least it’s stereo, great playing Mister Pete

What?
Meanwhile, everyone has played the same 3 guitars and 3 amps for 60 years.
The greatest guitar player greatest guitar commercial player I like the way he advertise time just like the captain he knows
Did Captain just ask if "decrescendo" was a word? haha. The opposite of crescendo in music Mr. Lee! To go from one volume to a lower volume.
I love Lee Anderton. Don't rush it!
The Slotva was already a weird and tough pedal to work with, and Walrus went "hold my beer" on it
Goddamm 😂
Great playing Pete, but the GFI Specular Tempus V2 can't get here soon enough! hope it's this year
Does it go fully dry when the mix knob is all the way down? It's the only thing saving my money from being rapidly spent!
12:17 rvb w/ super cool riff
Days without Pete playing the theme song from "Friends" in a video: 0
Thanks for the video

It actually hurt my eyes when I owned one.
@@michaelsnydermusic I've stuck small self adhesive vinyl circles on mine and it's actually useable now!

50% mix is bafflingly at about 2 o'clock on this pedal so they just had it set too low I think and you could see Lee crank it up around the timestamp.
We gonna need a bigger slo
Sounds epic to me.
which sounds better for worship?
Strymon cloudburst or walrus sloer?
Strymon nightsky is a good worship pedal
I like to mic up my trombone and run it through this pedal for some psychedelic jazz tones ✌️

The best reverbs are always blue
Can bass crew make Ampeg RB210 vs. PF350 on 210 vs. Micro CL video?
I got the R1 and the D1... Let it be VERY CLEAR 🚨📢....
THE ONLY UPGRADE I'M DOING IS TO R2D2...
Also... Sloer sounds like something you'd buy at IKEA... Stop it!
It's annoying
It's got some songs in it.
If there was an Expression Pedal capability then I’d be all in
They have midi controls on all their Mako series.
@@sagittated Oh, really? Good to know, thanks!
What if you do not have two amps
i would have the dane with a halo pedal myself
I'm only getting mono/left speaker for this vid. Anyway I already have a Cloudburst!
EDIT: Nevermind, was coming through my Spark mini lol
for 339 bucks??? just no dude, no! 😂🙈
This is the third video this week that I pressed the like button and the count of likes went to 666... Am I the antichrist?
This video really needed a test without the vibrato so heavy...
I think the recording of the guitar is out of phase!

Sløøøøøøøøer.
I thought Sloer was grape juice
what a mess of a user interface
Walrus pedals are they only analog pedals that decrease value amd selling them is difficult. I slso hate those faders. I'll give this a miss.

I hear a lot of distortion and artifacting on these effects ... kind of an ugly noise.
He's periodically using dirt pedals in addition to the reverb to show how well it plays with others.

I can't like this as the mod depth used is ridiculous throughout.
God i wish there was also playing without that ear tiring modulation.
please don't inject steroids in your biceps Lee.

340 quid for no expression or midi, and crappy sliders… big pass
Honest question.....do you use expression and midi, or do you just like the option of having it?
@@KoaCharvel sometimes I do, sometimes i don’t, depends what’s on my board, but the point stands, this is wildly overpriced for its feature set

3 of them could buy you a used, sub par condition but running, Honda civic.
That guitar sound in the intro sounds horrible.
That tele tone is terrible. Eeesh
Your guitar audio is out of phase.
No one in the audience cares about which reverb is being used.
But if your sound is good, you're more likely to have an audience at your shows.
