Trying out Walrus's new stereo reverb with some hardware synthesizers.
I recently purchased the Walrus Slöer and thought I'd try it with some hardware synths. The Slöer is an update to their Slö pedal, now with stereo input/output and a couple of new algorithms. I'm extremely impressed with the overall sound of it, and got lost in my explorations. It's got a particular texture and character that's unlike my other reverbs, and I can foresee myself using it for other ambient work in the near future. In fact, I wrote the start of a few songs while noodling with it!
There's about 90 minutes of footage, which is available for supporters of my Patreon, but I trimmed it down to about 15 minutes for RUclips. And for those of you who prefer my actual music performance videos, I've recorded a song with the Slöer and will release it in about a week, when I have a moment to get it in shape.
Thanks for listening, and I hope this is useful and musical.

That MS 20 !!!! …. Sounds awesome
Agreed
@@SonicVibeit’s gorgeous right?
@@Jin-Hu indeed!
could not agree more
esp. from 5:29
I really appreciate how you managed to pick four synths of different character to showcase different use cases. All three happen to be some of my favorite all time synths (though I've never owned an MS-20 I DO have a Malevolent which is intended to be in the same family.) The nymphes, despite the quirky and cumbersome UI is my favorite analog polysynth, and you play it beautifully. And the moog is dreamy.
The most in my taste is MS 20. Thank you for sharing your Art.
when this showed up in my feed i thought Jesus, not another reverb pedal ... but this actually sounds quite interesting
The tt303 at 2:48 fed into the reverb created such an unsettling ambient soundscape. Never would've expected that. Not just a good pedal but fantastic sounds design ideas.
Sold. That Walrus sounds amazing.
Thank you for this demo across instruments!
Dude this sounds really good!
Fantastic sounds.
The Sloer is on my list in preference to the Soma Cosmos.
I forgot completely that the MS20 is Mono!!!
The Sloer turns it into something else.
Love that smash cut to pure dread at 2:49
That's my favourite moment. Just snagged the audio and am trying to turn it into an off-kilter song with drums right now
Sounds amazing !
Great demo. Such a cool technique, using the freeze/maximum wet and then backing the 303 dry signal back in.
It's a keeper sounds amazing
Magnificent - as usual.
@5:27 I got a little bit of chills for a second. That sounds so cool!!
Nymphes 😮❤
that pedal has some real nice sound to it
The MS-20 stuff is straight fire
amazing with 303
Great!
Thats some sweet sauce, alright.👍
Sweet
❤
I've heard an audible noise floor in some demos of this pedal, not hearing that hear though. Did you do anything to address that or would you say there is no noise floor with your pedal? Demo sounds great btw! Love it's use with the MS20. Could see adding this to my 2600. Also, a moog one? Nice!
I haven't noticed any issue with noise floor whatsoever. And thanks!
Great pedal for synthesizers and Guitar unlike the nightsky which I’ve owned twice just could never get it to sound nice with a synthesizer. Too much harmonic information in the Reverb. Now this pedal is much better in my opinion.
I didn't know you kept the moog one, I thought I remembered you not being a huge fan of it (its pretty gigantic lol)
I do hope you do something with the matriarch's and this pedal tho!
quite the ambient dream! do you prefer this over e.g. polymoon or the cxm1978?
I definitely prefer this over the CXM1978, not because it's "better", but because it's more my sound. The Polymoon is an all-timer for me, and its phased delay/reverb thing is pretty special; not sure it's directly comparable to the Slöer, and I'd probably reach for each of them in different circumstances. And thanks!
😃
Hi, how did it handle the line levels please? I saw it clipping on other reviews so was a little hesitant, it does sounds gorgeous. Great demo
I've had it clip with my extremely loud devices (e.g. near eurorack levels) but never really had to accommodate volume otherwise. And thanks!
Thank you for letting me know, that is really helpful 🙏
