Unique blend knobs seem to be a thing with Walrus Audio. I got the Fathom reverb thinking it had a 4 position switch: hall, plate, lo fi, and octave(?). It’s not 4 positions - it pans between the 4 sounds.
I have the slo, the older version of the Slotva, and its so good for what it does. If you want a generic reverb I wouldn't go for this but if you really want an amazing post rock/ambient reverb this is the only pedal I'd recommend.
Just picked up the Slotva and it blows my mind every time I play it. Well worth the money! But agreed, not gonna be what you need if you're looking for standard spring, slapback, etc reverb.
The 2 funniest guys on TV! I used to watch the Andertons channel strictly for the gear demos. You guys crack me up. I find myself watching your channel for gear demos I care nothing about, just for a few chuckles. Big fan!
I own several Walrus pedals and find them to have some of best build quality available and there’s always a new tone or sound with just a slight tweak of a dial. Great for recording and experimenting.
You guys mentioned you didn’t think you’ve tried the Iron Horse before in its older versions, but you did! Haha. It was the video that you ranked a bunch of Rat sounding pedals. Pete actually ranked it pretty well. Love your videos guys!
No- what they said was that didn't remember liking the earlier version this much- that's what Capt. said anyway- Pete said nothing, he was playing. They did say they failed to demo this version when it came out last year- but they never said they didn't remember playing the earlier version.
This version of the Iron Horse adds clipping options- at 2 o'clock by the way there's no clipping from either diode, it's completely open with very little compression. But this version also fixes the volume drop off you used to get when you killed the gain- making it much more versatile as now it can be used as a low gain overdrive or a dirty boost. Crank it over to the LED side, cut the gain way down, volume way up, and turn the tone up to brighten as per your rig- makes a great dirty boost for hot leads. Nuno, or however you spell it, uses a Rat that way- It adds great bite, saturation, and loads of sustain.
I just picked up the Iron horse v3, it is amazing, it pairs great with the eras. The iron horse is based on a RAT. The Iron horse nails 90's alt rock distortion, and the Eras is the best metal distortion pedal I ever used.
@@keithb5612 I had the filaments as my high gain pedal for the past two years, I used both the eras and the filaments at a few shows and the eras beat it out. The filaments is far more versatile, but the eras is just brutal in a good way. I found the Filaments to be a bit too mid focused and bass heavy. The eras is so smooth and thick, it even turns a single coil into a metal machine. If the filaments had a mid control, it would have beat out the eras.
@@jamesryan1939 Cheers. I use an EQ pedal on the Filaments and it shapes the sound really well. I haven't tried the Era's pedal yet though. Walrus Audio and Keeley are making some great pedals. Maybe check out the Tsakalis Distortion pedals. Some great pedals coming out of Greece too.
I just got the Warhorn overdrive combo pedal today and it works SO well when the Warhorn and Eras are stacked. It’s even better than I expected it to be based on the demo.
I just thought it could sound great as the live solo guitar sound of John frusciante by the chili peppers. He often uses two distortions and a fuzz for it. That pedal could do that all in one imo
Love you guys of course, but man, that was a lot of pedal magic jammed into 25 minutes. Walrus (like Jhs, etc) are SO good and deep feature wise with their pedals, they deserve more time, especially with the last 3 pedals. Fuzz/distortion is easy, we all understand that, and it really doesn't need a lot of time, but the other pedals have so much functionality I feel like this should have been at LEAST 2 videos for all this. Pete didn't even get a chance to show them off, and he's REALLY good at quickly showing us what a pedal can do, but not at this pace. He didn't have a chance and it was clear he wanted to do so. This one was rushed, given the pedal company, the prices involved, and the consistent features/quality they've proven they always seem to offer.
The Slotva is just insane, it might be the Last pedal I ever trade!...purely because I've never got that "lost" in a sound before......I crank up my 100w Marshall and it's like being transported into another galaxy, it's pretty cool. I definitely like Walrus, never thought I would say that.....
I bought a memory boy off reverb for 80 bucks and the feedback knob was broken :/ bummer. I went to a guitar shop, let them know the situation and still bought it off me, for cheap. I saw they had a walrus Audio arp 187 (delay) brought it home and loved it so much I went back and picked up the Julianna chorus too.. went a little over board but I’m happy :)
“Iguanas are often hard to spot, as they tend to blend into their surroundings, and their coloration enables them to hide from larger predators.” … “Some chameleon species are able to change their skin coloration. Colour change in chameleons has functions in camouflage, but most commonly in social signaling and in reactions to temperature and other conditions.”
I bought a Walrus M1 and had some issues with it. It was very quiet and turning the "depth" knob while holding the bypass switch to increase gain didn't really do much. I'd say overall it reduced my output maybe 25% and really took the bite out of my signal. Is this normal for this pedal or was mine a dud? I ended up returning it. I enjoyed the sounds I was getting overall but hated how sterile it made my tone.
Pete & Cap are starting to disagree a bit like a married couple: "Do iguanas change colour"? "You can do whatever you want man, nothing is wrong!" "You don't need the manual, just try..."
Does anyone ever complain that the volume of your dialogue is lower than that of the playing? It's a constant back-and-forth between me and the wife; her saying "does it have to be so loud?" and me responding, "If I want to hear what they say."
Two different countries with two different languages. Danish and the norwegian language are a bit similar when written. Danish and Swedish are very different spoken and written down.
That Chapman Tele just sounds and looks so nice! The price is also very good if it wasn't for that stupid infinite logo on the fret I would buy it without hesitation as my first tele. Wish Rob would stop with that nonsense logo.
Walrus Audio creates better marketing and buzzwords than pedals. Save your money and stick with tried and tested brands like BOSS, Electro Harmonix & TC Electronic.
Talk shite. Walrus pedals are generally outstanding. Yeah they're expensive, they're American made & pitched at dedicated musicians who want a premium product - if you can't afford it then don't buy it.
You guys are just lovely.
No you ahhh.
I didn't need to see anything more than the thumbnail with Pete next to a Slo. I already know this video is gonna be killer
Yup,-

The silicon/LED blend on the Iron Horse is epic!

Love the way Pete has been working arpeggios into his playing. Sounding like a Danish Eric Johnson here.

I don't even have a guitar yet. But really considering this hooked into my MPC 5000. Then resample into my sp12 to dirty them up.

The Slotva reverb pedal sounds incredible!
Ya. Even the previous version, the Slo, sounds really good!

I have the Slö, Polychrome and M1. All of them are really hard to get off the board (and not because of the Velcro).
I love my slötva, presets in the form factor it has is a game changer
Love you guys from Texas, best content on the interwebs 👊
I don’t know if there’s a swedish connection to Walrus, but Slö is swedish for lazy or dull (as opposite to sharp), två simply means two.
To me slö primarily means slow and is sometimes used as lazy or dull.
I have the Slotva and the way you described it is on point... it's a dreamers pedal

Yes!!! The all do sound as good or better then they look. Amazing pedals.
Now that you explained your recurring dream; I understand where your humor comes from! Nice vid.

the captain and danish pete are the best players and the best host i like just listening to you guys your the best thanks
I don’t need more pedals damn it 😂
But you want some !
Me neither ALTHOUGH because I do sell some to upgrade, at least I'm not keeping everything and thereby just hoarding.
Random fact; in swedish, ”slö” means lazy or sleepy and “två” means two.
You guys have a super cool job. Always admiring how fun it would be to work in a place like this.
I own 2 of these. Love them both. Only complaint is the led light is too bright. Esp on the tap tempo juliana walrus
No, they dont change color. It is the Cameleon. It may change shades of gree but it wont go multi color.
Yes.
2:16 Aren't "just the black keys" a pentatonic scale? 🤓
I like the full Brazilian mode.
I love my iron horse
When Pete laughs to himself, he was thinking the same thing as me... He has such a dirty mind.
Dry flange? Vibrato.
Full Brazilian was beautiful
I need to get that Iron Horse
lol yous two were on fire for this one
That Chapman ML-3 is so good. Sounds as good as it looks.
I just came here to hear the Slotva. I don't really need anything else right now.
Will you do a video on the new Neural DSP Tone King Imperial MkII?
Iron Horse on the Tele is Beautiful! Lol l can get 4 Donner pedals for what it cost.
Nordvang Triple Gain?
That dream was real.
That iguana made the band WATERPARKS what they are

Lee on Fire :D
The ever elusive iguana whom conveniently changes his spots at his leisure.
Pete is the king of noodling!
No no, the Ages is their gain pedal, Pete.
Hi, does anyone know the brand and model of the stool the Captain and Pete are using in the videos ? Looks like a Tama drum throne of some kind ?
I would use the poly chrome on a keyboard not a guitar 😉
Slötvå means drowsy two!
What are those patch cables ?

The master knob twiddler and picker crush it again. +1 respect. 🥃👍.camelian
M1: begins to sound like Joni Mitchells guitar...🤔
The Mako is super expensive...:-(
Talk about Orange Guitars
How "suprising" that Slö 2 is literally called - Slö 2. Well, at least it isn't Slö 6...
I refuse to watch in 4k. And Ilisten to it on my phone. Its safer for my GAS.

Danish Pete is getting skinny!!! Bikini season is coming ;-)

Full Brazilian 😂
