    For some bizarre reason no
one else has done this comparison before. Good job!
I've owned a Fathom and it's great for what it does. It just wasn't for me.
BTW, on the Fathom, there's a secret delay algorithm. In Hall mode, hold down the sustain, turn the knob all the way to Sonar, and it becomes a delay. Just do the opposite to change it back.

46 pedals...that is some investment, I have probably owned 46 in my life though, just never all at once. I have 15 pedals on my board and really just came here to bitch that the buffer sucks tone....not by itself no, but as a gang with the other 5 buffers on my board....they say buffers are like beers, 2 or 3 can might help add a little sparkle or smoothness...more than that and things start to get sloppy.

@heavybending I have listened to many reverb pedal demos and kept coming back to these two Walrus pedals, Slo & Fathom. I finally realized that the Fathom made more sense because it can do some sounds similar to the Slo, but it can also provide the traditional Room, Hall & Plate sounds. So, the Slo is more of a non-traditional reverb, and the Fathom is more of a hybrid.

I’m curious about your thoughts on using one of these with an acoustic guitar with pickups, and which one makes the most sense if you had to choose only one (I know, blasphemy…).
But still, if you could fit only one on your board, which would you recommend for this kind of setup? Guitar > BodyRez > Corona Chorus > Flashback Delay >Slo or Fathom is the likely chain (minimalist board + tuner).

    • @pedalpartners

hmmm the freeze function on the slö (dream mode latching pad) might be really cool with acoustic! i feel like walrus always take what they learn from one pedal & put it into the next i.e. fathom to slö to lore :)

I already own the Slo but I've put some serious thought into also buying the Fathom and then running the stereo signals out of my delay pedal into each of them so I'd have Slo on one side and Fathom on the other. Would this work? They'd run in parallel instead of one into the other.

    • @pedalpartners

I just ran across this video and the Slo vs Afterneath and I honestly didn't like the Slo until I watched these videos. Exactly what I was trying to find. Someone who uses their pedals for cool sounding stuff and not generic blah playing (I'm not a 50 year old cover band dude) so I can't stand those videos.
    Anyways,
Do you have an Old Blood Noise Dark Star, Caroline Meteore or an Earthquaker Transmisser to compare the Slo with? Your video's are awesome and those are the pedals I'm torn between lol. I'm going for a weird O'brother/glassjaw but heavier sound but haven't found what I'm looking for. The KMA Cirrus is also insane if you haven't checked it out, but out of my price range if you can find one. Awesome videos duder!!!!

@Pedal Partners -- are you running a specific segment/sample through, like, a loop station here, and then simply manipulating that segment/sample with each/both pedals? Thinking about getting the fathom or the ehx cathedral, any thoughts? I love that the cathedral has presets, and I like the tone, but the same can be said for the Fathom; I love water and the fact that its an underwater reverb. And that it has modulation that can make it sound more true to a real reverbs tone and artifacts. Its also compact which is nice. I'm Primarily a rock, pop, lofi, punk and grunge person, but also into ambient and shoegazey stuff - I'm all over the board. If anyone has tried both let me know your thoughts.
