    As someone who is doing this debate a year ago, I can see that after a year. I definitely find myself wanting a unit that can do stereo. At the time I figured I just need one amp and I want the most authentic sounding one. I do believe the dream is without a doubt, the best sounding one. But for almost the same price, I can compromise a little bit of sound quality and get a helix or HX stomp or the ASC one. Of course you could always do the dream with the ruby I like a little amount of petals on my board. I love the dream. It sounds fantastic, but I like having options that are very noticeable.I know the dream has other options but I don’t ever feel like they really sounded that different.

      The Dream is way more like the real amp. I’ve owned both the Deluxe and an AC30 (1963) It actually has sag, and dynamics in both the amp section and the speaker section. The Dream 65 literally reacts exactly the same as the real Trem Channel of a Deluxe Reverb. You just have to know how to dial it in (like the amp). The Trem channel on a Deluxe has a bright cap, the Normal channel doesn’t…all you have to do to get the normal channel setting on the Dream is turn the Lead boost to 9 o’clock and you’re golden. No offence to @nobesmusic at all but you have to get the gain staging, eq and speaker sim close before you start comparing stuff for it to be of any real value. For value for money to get in the ballpark of a Deluxe and an AC30 together the ACS-1 is great but if you want to really replicate an AC30 and a Deluxe then you can’t go past the Ruby and the Dream in the amp pedal world there’s nothing that comes as close to the real amps.

    Universal Audio wins over any other modelers hands down. There's something about UA pedals that make them interact with your playing and pedals that no other pedal or studio rack can quite get. I've tried nearly everything and keep going back to UA. Have you tried the Lion?

    They both are sounding great. I´ve got myself the ACS1, but I´m always on the AC30. All all do sounds great but it basically comes down to personal preference. Tx ! I like most of the sounds better on the Dream. For the clean fender tone with a hint of sparkle, it just can't be beaten. The Walrus has more clean space on the gain knob I think ( more sparkle control) , which is a pro. For distortion, I also like the eq profile of the Walrus better. Dream had that metal midscoope thing. Distortion is very important. So I don't know which one to choose. You can't go wrong anyway.

      @mikem.1203 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@nobesmusic FYI, you can boost the mids on the Dream by switching to Lead mod and turning the dial to around 10-12 o'clock. From the manual: "Lead mod: Removes the bright cap when the knob is above OFF, so at lower boost knob settings, the amp sounds warmer. As you increase the boost knob up to the 10 o'clock position or so, the mod adds some midrange from the tone stack lift (called "lead boost"). Yes! It does have that knob, but it’s not necessarily reverb sounding. More like a mic effect in the bigger room if that makes sense.
