    Great video Kaedy! That little tip with the ribbon seems super helpful, I think it would make a good short!

    Thank You for your great tutorial. I, for one, didn't want the shirring to be so wide so I picked about half of them out. If you catch the right thread, you can do it in no time! The result was exactly how I wanted a pair of comfy, cute pants to be!

    Great tutorial, and great idea! I'm going to head to the fabric store! (And I was going to nitpick and say that picot is French, so the t is silent, pronounced like peeko, but apparently it is becoming more common to pronounce it pikit or pikuht in America. The things you learn...)

    Great idea! was looking for a wide palazzo style pant as I recently saw a video on wearing the pants (from stretch fabric) as a dress. You have to be able to fit your body into one leg and use the other leg as a sleeve or over your head for a halter top look. So my question is could one fit into one leg of a non-stretch fabric (such as your printed cotton)?? I love the idea of the loose cotton as an upcoming holiday will be to warmer climate and the smocked fabric would sure make the project go quickly. thank you for this fun project and I appreciate any tips you may have.

      And yes. I love it. It’s the best machine. 😍. Able to do a beautiful stitch, easily, and put up with abuse.
      I also have a singer stylist quantum and a Kennmore from the early 80’s.

    It would be great if you could do a step by step sew along for these as they are exactly what I’ve been looking for…I have a pattern for nice flowy pants but it has a thread through elastic waistband and I can’t work out how much fabric extra I need to make the waistband like yours? Do I double it? If so how does that look to cut out as 1 piece? Or is it 2? Sadly I also have to admit I couldn’t follow what you were saying about the crotch…..looking forward to more, thanks ps…you asked if we would prefer music…in my case it’s a none!

    • @KaedyC
      @KaedyC  Год назад +2

      Thank you so much for your feedback!
      I feel like I have to have the music because I’m not comfortable with my voice yet in camera. That you would prefer without gives me a lot of confidence!
      So this fabric is pre-smocked fabric. It’s usually used for sun dresses. That’s why I had no need of an elastic waistband.
      I cut two pieces of fabric for this one. A right and left leg. For my next video I’ll be making a more traditional 4 piece pajama pants pattern because I want to have a side seam to put in pockets.
      I’ll also talk about grading elastic in the next video! That should help people understand how much they’ll need to go around their waist.
      Thank you again for your detailed feedback! I really want to make good videos and this helps so much! 🙂

    What an awesome idea! 💖
    Reading through the comments I see quite a few viewers were confused re: how you worked out the crotch. It would be fantastic if you would do a video on this process in real time and making sure the camera has the best view, as many here are novice sewers. 😺
    As someone who's always had 'bigger buttocks' I so appreciate this idea for the roomy amount of fabric it provides! 😱😹😛
    As an aside, you could put elastic in the leg hem for a great pair of yoga pants! 💎💖🙌😺

    • @KaedyC
      @KaedyC  Год назад +1

      Already stealing that idea! 😍
      I’m going to do a live (so I can take questions) and then edit it into another video that incorporates all these questions.
      (I hope!)
