- Shannon Burke gets thrown of Satellite Radio and in his bitterness takes shots at Opie & Anthony, lying about why they were being taken off the premium channels. A pest attack is called and many, many calls are played of Shannon with his finger on the dump button. A little over 4 years later, Shannon gets in some minor trouble with the law and he's brought to O&A 's attention again.

Some of them are dicks, some are jaded, and alot of them are inexperienced and paranoid that the next call might be their last. Cops should be the best amongst us, badass stoic sobs that can have a bullet wiz by their face and shrug. not just someone who showed up for the job. Give them more money, make the job prestigious and difficult to get and you can get those people. It should be as difficult to be a cop as it is to be a doctor or attorney.

As many times as I've listened to this I never realized the irony. When this 1st started they wanted to get to the story of Don from Don and Mike running over his dog and his wife being upset bla bla bla but wanted to address Shannon first. Now the last clip is about Shannon shooting his dog and wife. Being bad at radio is a death sentence for the family dog and extremely painful for the spouse.
All these years I could have sworn Burke was holding a bundle of sage with smoke coming off of it like some Wiccan cleaning a house. And had assumed it was a blunt/cigar joke... I just noticed it's a mic smoking like a gun... Which is somehow worse.

Being clowned on like that, by two of the biggest guys in the industry, hot off the heels of losing probably the best gig he ever had. I'm willing to bet that he remembered those pest attacks, and thought of them often. Makes it absolutely hilarious to hear Opie, and Anthony, barely be able to recall him, or the incident, when they are informed of his demise.

My personal belief/theory?
It stemmed from Greggs personal insecurities. He knew if he never made the smartest decision of his life (hiring Anthony), he would've been a Jocktober bit.
Gregg surrounded himself with some of the best comedic talent in the country and when he had nothing to offer or felt left out he would "steer the ship" into an iceberg by pressing buttons like a retard or taking stupid calls or reading instant feedback.
He's a hack...along with being an autistic narccicist.

The way Opie was so adamant about how they were going to lay off Shannon now and Jimmy saying that Shannon might be coming back to XM made it seem as though maybe they decided to lay off him because they didn't want to jeopardize their new jobs or were even told to lay off by management. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Former radio host Shannon Burke is a free man. WFTV was there when he walked out of the Orange County jail late Thursday morning. Burke served time for shooting his wife and their dog and for violating his probation.

The older I get the more I realize just how damn sensitive and insecure these 3 were. The slightest ribbing and they would lose it and trash the culprit for the entire show or sometimes multiple shows.
Half the time people were trashing them because they knew how insecure they were and and knew it would get them publicity.
I also cringe at Opie always BSing about how big the shows ratings were. Anthony would say we are doing well, then opie would jump in saying we are doing really really well, better than everyone expected, double the ratings of the next guy, while Anthony would remain quiet. The amount of times opie justifies how big their ratings are in this video just screams he was insecure about them.
The fact is not many were listening to O&A at this point, same with all the satellite shows. The subscribers just weren't there. They never reached anywhere near their numbers on terrestrial after they got fired. Opie couldn't deal with this. That obnoxious fake laugh he does is so full of anger and bitterness.
