- Intern Brian showed up with an eye patch and a bandage on his forehead. The guy is known for embellishing stories so the crew brings him in to tell them exactly what happened. As they continue to grill him his story falls apart. They figure out if they want him to stay or go home because many members of the staff is creeped out by him. Some callers give their thoughts. Opie wasn't scared of the guy, he just didn't like how much he reminded him of himself. The desperate need for attention and sympathy and doing insane stuff to get it. Notice how he manipulates everyone into changing their minds by whining for 20 minutes, real girlfriend tactics.

Why does Opie get "creeped out" when people lie? I mean it's not a positive attribute, but not exactly abnormal behavior either. Who hasn't claimed they were sick to get out of work / school / etc.? Coming in with an eye patch to bolster your lie is like something you'd see out of a sitcom, it's almost endearing.
Basing the Columbine-type scenarios on that is kind of insane in and of itself. Yeah, I know it's comedy but when there's no logical connection the joke doesn't even make sense.

i once faked pinkeye to get out of work bcuz there was a party i wanted to get out of there for! I went as far to squirt lemon juice in my eye, rub it with red marker and then smeared it with Vaseline. I got sent home and then missed the party bcuz ended up getting an actual eye infection from it!
wow that is hilarious and extremely dumb at the same time. In high school, I knew people who would get high and then only put Visine drops in one eye so they would have one eye red and one eye clear and use that as a tactic for faking pink eye.
