Ant dropping a Rollercoaster reference is amazing. A terrorist played by the guy from That's My Bush blows up rollercoasters at amusement parks around the country. Ant might be one of the first people I've heard reference it.
I love the completely impossible physics in this movie. One of the best is when they're running at the end, and a giant wheat thresher is carried over their heads, 5 feet off the ground.
The special effects were fairly crappy, even by 1996 standards. Go watch the scene where the "bad guys" get killed by the tornado. Their truck exploding looks like something out of a 50's drive-in B movie.
"Is there an F5?" Dramatic pause followed by awkward silence. "That would be like the finger of God which usually makes a blitzkrieg for the closest trailer park."
How far could someone throw a bottle of booze, even assuming it was empty? Maybe 100 feet, tops? He was able to get that close to a tornado without being injured? That's extreme!!!
You CAN be that close. Thats whats so weird about them. An F-4 came over my house carrying the roof of a furniture store. Deposited the roof into my front yard. Never disturbed my pickup. The water heater in thr front yard i was using as a target never even wobbled. Tornado came down, pushed over a HUGE Oak tree, cut the tops out of the smaller ones as it was dropping down and carved a path through the forest. It was so loud i couldnt hear anything. Even the tree was totally silent. I could have thrown something into that thing it was so close. Im absolutely terrified of them now
