  • A commenter asked me to break down Steve Gadd's amazing solo in Chick Corea's "Dear Alice" off of The Mad Hatter record. As a Steve Gadd fanboy, I couldn't resist! Thank you Ito for the suggestion. This video is for you! Er...and anyone else interested in learning from one of the greatest drummers of our time, the incomparable STEVE GADD!!

Great transcription, you really put in the time one this one. Great drumming as well! I subbed! Also, I love the drum kit are you use 8x8, 8x10, 10x12, 12x14 on the toms, 16x22 kick? I have same walnut finished Gretsch kit … slightly different sizes! Great work! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you so much for the kind words! Not gonna lie, Steve Gadd has been a huge influence on me....as well as just about every other drummer on the planet. :) I bought that Gretsch kit in 80s. It's by far my favorite. I stopped using it live cuz it was taking a beating. Now it never leaves my studio. Cheers!
