This was an interesting build, not actually knowing what I wanted to make when I started. But it worked out well. It's a good brain exercise if you're interested in testing your creativity.
It's hard to believe you only have 90K subscribers. I just found your channel and have watched almost half of the videos you've posted. I really like the way you narrate and explain everything. I'll pass the word around, I think you are extremely creative and I wish you much success.
@@NewtonMakes u welcome and thx for doing something from our history and i hope u can check and do more from our history wood working our wood working history very great
My 5 year old great grandson, Eli just watched this with me with great interest, but when the video came to the end, he looked at me and said "Papa, that's not real". We both enjoyed the build though and Eli found that part believable. Good job my friend!!
I love the sentiment at the beginning of this, "I don't have a project on mind, but I want to make this part, so we'll see where it goes" I relate to that so much, and it infuriates those around me as they can't understand why I would do something if I don't have a use for it
@@NewtonMakes I find it hard to get non makers (at least people who don't see themselves as such, even though I think almost all people are, just in different ways) to see it as such. Then when you can do/fix/make something, they ask how on earth you know/learned how to do that. Lol
It was a bit challenging to figure out how to apply it to a project, but the build itself is fairly straightforward. You shouldn't have any problems making it.
I wish I could offer something like this for sale to everyone but the time it takes would make the item very expensive. I have a website in the description. I placed items for sale on my website. I accept custom requests via the contact page.

I am just addicted to your very creative work. All your videos are great! Thank you for sharing your passion.
Thanks for checking them out. Just trying to have some fun.

Haha! Perhaps it wasn't. Who am I to say if it's real? 😂
awesome graphic additions.
Awesome project! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
No telling, but it's likely to be incredibly silly. That's my jam!
It's a beauty. I made myself one a couple of years ago, with some rubber bands so it could work in any upsidedown. I truly loved it!

That's how we grow as makers.

Man super cool video Billy, and great way to pay tribute to a old ingenious invention 👍 keep making
Some of those pieces were pretty tiny. It was a little tricky making the cuts, but overall a fairly simple design. Which is why it's so cool.
So cool, definitely going to make one of these locks

@@NewtonMakes already have the project in mind. It will be a large sized lock for the kids treehouse
LOVE that idea!
That box is so cool and the ending is epic haha xD! People were really smart back in the day to come up with such genius design.
Perhaps my most goofy video 🤣
how is the lid actually fixed to the box? i can't seem to figure it out, it seems like the lid would just lift straight off
Who the heck is Newton Makes? Ohhhh... :D Fun project and nice looking outcome! I don't think Lockpicking Lawyer would be challenged though. 😈
He's a pale rip off of Clint Makes. 😉
Love it, was thinking it would be cool to have the plexiglass as part of the exterior of the box so you can always see the mechanism.
They would have been a really cool idea. Perhaps in a future build.
Then every thief would know how to open it, kinda beats the design idea don't you think? At least for now, the treasure is safe.
I’m a locksmith
Modern locks are designed very similarly
♥️♥️♥️
Make one for a folding box
Благодарю.
How do I ask you for my services?
I need a treasure puzzle box made for my girlfriend. I need this type of Egyptian lock incorporated in the design.
