Louie's reaction was pure, emotional gold.
Thanks! In Polish he's Zyzio so that mixes in my head xD
he almost cried
yeah
really reminds you that louie is the youngest of the trio which means has even less memories of his mom than huey and dewey.
wow
It's funny seeing Launchpad pretending to be Donald Duck because when you think about it, in the original Ducktales show Launchpad at times felt as a replacement for roles Donald usually played in the original comics.
Is it weird that I thought it was kinda cute?
He was actually intended as the closest to Donald they were allowed to regularly use in 1987!
Scrooge: Daddy Mummy
Huey: Is this the part where one of us faints
Webby: oh I’m so on it dude
Is that a gravity falls reference
Susan Baer the very last lines from "Not What He Seems"
Did you just fuse my two favorite shows
@@susanbaer5542 No duh, obviously.
Scrooge's mother: we have plenty of old photos-
Webby: Aaaaaaah! Old photos!!! ...Sorry, got a bit excited there...About the old photos.
Scrooge's mother: Anyways...we have plenty of old photos of Scrooge when he was younger
Webby: Aaaaaaaah!
My favorite part of the episode is Fergus going "JETTISON THAT JALOPY FROM MY DRIVEWAY THIS INSTANT YOU DEADBEAT!"
My favorite part is when Scrooge says "Daddy. Mummy." Sorry I just think it's too precious.
I seriously loved Webby’s fan girl squee state in this episode. It was hilarious to watch
Too bad she never really got that much information about the McDuck family while she was there.
Snowydog Studios well they could always go back
FAN GIRL OVERLOAD
Seeing Launchpad doing Donald's classic angry move was priceless!
I wouldn't be surprised if Scrooge's dad was meant to be voiced by Alan Young if he was still alive. Heck, it arguably would've made that one scene even more tear-jerking/heartwarming if that were the case.
Now, i am sad that this did not happend...
Peter Capaldi should have voiced Fergus.
The fact that Fergus was the one who bought that dime for Scrooge to earn is something that has been known for over twenty years, something that *I* have known for years... and yet it never even occurred to me that it could be a plot twist, until DuckTales made it one. And it was amazing and very heartwarming. It's really great.
"you kept a secret about our mom? That is not okay." Wow, I did not know Bobby Had that in him.
Oh, you think *this* is emotional? The next episode is like an emotional kick in the nuts.
Yeah everyone is always like, "OMG this episode made me cry!" 😢😢😭😭
Seriously everyone was all like this. EVERYONE!!!!
What fun! 😁
We’re three Caballeros
Three gay Caballeros, they say we are birds of a featherrrrrrr
Love your shirt!!
same here
Louie's reaction broke my heart.
I'm just sad non of Scrooge's sisters show up. At least Matilda, who you know, actually was keeping castle Mcduck safe from rival clans in the comics.
True, But maybe we might see them later on in the series. If their not dead.
KajiRider1997
I think i saw Frank Angones mention one of his sisters on tumblr, like we'll see more of her eventually
Remember that Scrooge's baby sister Hortense, who is Donald and Della's mother, was named on Webby's family tree board in the very first episode. There's no indication Mathilda exists in this duck world, but Hortense has to exist. So with that in mind, there are 2 bothersome questions. First, during the visit with his parents, why was there no pictures or mention of his 1 or 2 sisters? Second, Scrooge is about 160 years old, at least partly due to time spent in a demon dimension (dunno if that means he had his lifespan increased or he skipped ahead in time, tho if the latter, he'd have been declared dead after a decade or so). So how old was Hortense when she had Donald and Della, who don't seem to be terribly old themselves?
Sadly, I think the creators said that Hortense had passed away a long time ago with her husband. Also, I don't think they have said anything about Matilda being in the series yet. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if the creators had forgotten about her. I hope they don't though because I honestly don't want them to ruin another thing from "The Life of Times of Scrooge McDuck."
The creators never said Hortense, Matilda or Quackmore were dead
Aaand Matilda is mentioned in Webby's board, in the pilot
Who’s hyped for the season finale tomorrow?
GalacticMusicalGirl 12 scrooge vs magica de spell!!!! HYPE!!!!!
Me!
Me GalacticMusicalGirl 12 me!!!!
ME
I still can’t believe they made an awesome expanded universe out of ducks going on adventures. Its like mlp but with ducks
Joshua Pyun but better, waaaaay better :3
Mlp doesn’t have sex jokes
I don’t even understand where you got this from
@@fork3810
You weren't paying much attention during the episode secrets and pies were you?
Yeah that's what I been thinking. I feel Ducktales is A LOT like MLP. Not just Gravity Falls like everyone else says.
@@fork3810 Are you saying that DT 2017 has sex jokes and MLP doesn't? I don't get it? When? How? And where did we got this from? We didn't got this anywhere we're just comparing two shows thats all. That doesn't mean it has to be a exactly like the show. It just means we think there are some similiarities that MLP has with Ducktales. I doubt Gravity Falls is the only show that's a lot like Ducktales.
webby is me when ever a new season of a show comes out
Have you noticed that Scrooge introduced Donald wrong? He said "your greatnephiew" while he is in fact their grandson.
Yeah, I noticed that. If Donald is Scrooge's nephew. That means his sister is Donald's mum and therefore Scrooge's parents are Donald grandparents.
I mean just look at the Duck family tree.
Poke But how can Donald and Della be the nephew and niece of Scrooge in this version of Ducktales? The ages of the characters just don't add up: Scrooge is around 150 years old (as the show takes place sometime between 2011-2019), which makes his parents around 200, Donald and Della around 30, and the triplets 10 years old. Something's missing here.
Divine Falcon If you’ve watched the show you’d know that Scrooge has been able stay older due to dimension hopping, unnatural causes, etc
I just chalk it up to nerves.
oh man I can't wait to see your review of the last crash of the sunchaser...oh man does it deliver
That was quicker than I expected
SEANICCUS WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE SPEAR OF SELENE
Given the fact that Selene herself stated that she never had a spear, I think it was pretty obvious that it wasn't an actual spear...
I needed to be reminded of this episode. Not becaue it was bad or forgettable, because it was REALLY good, but because the next episode was such a drama bomb that this one just kind of got blasted out of my mind.
I need to rewatch it, and then NOT watch "Last Crash of the Sunchaser" afterwards. >.> because OUCH. Ouch ouch ouch. My heart. My feels. They hurt.
Curt Clark My feelings exactly
This episode was AMAZING! But, I do have one thing to say... I know little to NOTHING about the history of clan McDuck. In fact, I never knew this show EXISTED until I saw the promo. But after seeing the show up to this point, I LOVE IT. I may not get the references to the original show, or know anything about their history, or characters, but I still enjoy it. I can’t wait to see what this show has in store for us in the future. DUCKTALES! Woo-oo!
Discount druid stones.... I love this show :)
Shoe?
Dang it, I can't spell
I love the implication that Scrooge could grant himself inmortality if he wanted it, if he hasn't already.
I loved this episode because it was chock full of references to the Uncle Scrooge comics by Carl Barks and Don Rosa. Not just the real story behind the number one dime and the design of Scrooge's parents, but also the templar treasure, the hound of Whiskerville and the McDuck ancestors.
As someone who grew up on those comics, it was so much fun to see them being referenced.
Such an incredible cartoon, and I'm looking forward to seeing your reviews of the next few episodes. This one was great for me, as it paid a huge respect to Don Rosa's Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, and I loved how it portrayed the backgrounds in a Barksian oil portrait manner. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Looking forward to more!
There are so many great Barksian references in these episodes, there's no way I could find them all on my own! I'm hoping to spot more on rewatches.. but although i'm a big Rosa / Barks fan, i'm by no means an expert!
I know I am months late with this, but finally having just watched this episode...one moment that filled me with more glee than it had any right to? When the Boys go down the stairs with the torch out front, and its literally like a shot from the old intro. It was perhaps half a second long but it was just so great to me.
Woo-oo
A NEW AWESOME SEANICCUS EPISODE :)
Outside of some scenes from the last crash of the sunchaser, the Louie breakdown scene is my favorite scene in the show!
It very much shows us that other side to his character I've ben looking for since Episode 1.
It's a bit sad because in the comics...Donald never met his grandparents on his mother's side (except in a dream) and was separated from his mother and father when he was quite young. He was raised by Grandma Duck (his father's mother) on a farm alone...without Della. And he seemed to be around 12-13 years old when he ran away/moved out to join Mickey and pals.
Launchpad pretending to be Donald seems like a bit of a meta-joke given Launchpad in the original DuckTales basically over one of the roles that Donald Duck himself usually does in the comics. (Scrooge's go-to pilot and all-purpose sidekick)
There is a very subtle joke in this episode that you might only catch on a second watching of the whole series. When Grandma Downy is showing them the picture of Fergus's father, Dirty Dingus, Huey and Louie start laughing at the name but Dewie does not look amused. In a much later episode Don Karnage swears he will get his vengeance against his sworn enemy, Dewford Dingus Duck!
Webby was adorable in this episode.
So was Scrooge. Probably just me though.
Here is a easter egg from the episode. When scrooge says he rebuilt the castle by druid stones it is a refferense to the original ducktales. In episode 9 or 10 of the original ducktales scrooge and the tripplets visited a castle that scrooge ansester built. But that castle was built on a driud Stonehenge thing to Save money. (Sorry for my terrible english)
If you think THIS episode is good, wait until you see The last crash of the Sunchaser. That is easily my favorite episode so far.
I see your Last Crash of the Sunchaser and raise you The Shadow War
if you think about it dewy keeps the secret from his brothers for a full 21 episodes. witch could be several months.
Shining Your Own Way Last week's episode dates the show at 6 months in-universe from the first episode.
thanks
It's only been 6 months in thier universe. I dont know if thats what you mean by "several months."
it makes sense because in the original ducktales launchpad was kinda made to replace donald in a way if you think about it
I love your shirt, it's always nice to see Donald genuinely happy.
Really trying to crank theses out before the finale, huh? I like it. :D
Yeah, after all, the season finale is coming out tomorrow morning
@@susanbaer5542 after the last crash? I thought it was the finale.
Watching this episode, this was the episode where Webby was about to die
I'm liking on how there is expanding upon the McDuck family even more than the original TV show did, Plus I never seen Huey & that upset, that scene was very emotional.
If only Alan Young was still alive, he could've voiced Scrooge's dad and it would be the perfect sendoff
Seeing Launchpad pretend to be Donald was something I never knew I needed.
This episode shows how the brother feels about secrets
Jesus Christ Seaniccus!
This was an Incredibly quick upload! Good work!
my favorite ep so far. the moment we learn about the number one dime was so heart touching
Launchpad is EVERYTHING in this episode! 😂😂😂 I live for the 6:36 moment 💗
Two episodes in less than 2 days? Jump start my heart!
The triplets were my favorite in this episode and of course all the adorable duck pictures ^^ I would watch this again and again to see all the family history of the McDucks
And don't forget Whiskers !
The cutest fuzzball ever!
LOL That Launchpad moment
Throughout the hole episode I couldn't stop thinking WHERE DID YOU GET THAT T-SHIRT?? It looks great
Della is on the moon now in the final episode
This was amusing on a purely personal level. I grew up with a vhs tape of 2 episodes of the original series; the episode with the terra-firmians, and the one with druid castle and a 'demon dog.' With this episode, both of those old episodes have been revamped and/or referenced in the new series! That's....oddly satisfying.
For me, the thing that stood out the most for me was all the Blue Candles in Castle McDuck. I'm not sure why they didn't just go with the normal white or why I was even focusing on the candles. Maybe it was just so they could add just a bit more complexity to the environment.
I really like the new DuckTales series, but his parents being alive kinda breaks with the continuity. Both his parents die during Don Rosa's "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck".
Waaaait a second.
According to Don Rosa's "Last Sled to Dawson" Scrooge's mother died in his Yukon years, before he even found his first nugget.
According to "The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck" (Chapter 9?) his father died the night Scrooge left the castle to move to future Duckburgh (then still Fort Drake). The castle itself by then was still pretty much intact.
And all that was quite a while before Scroogey got rich enough to do something as expensive as rebuilding a whole castle.
Finally "A Letter From Home" showed the castle in present day (basically the 1950's) in very much the same state of decay as decades before, housekept by Scrooge's sister Matilda.
When what the reboot suggests is true, then Scrooge was rich enough to rebuild the (apparently ruined) castle before his parents (not) died, which made them immortal.
This in turn means that Keno Don Rosa's retelling of Scrooge's life and by extension all of his works are not canon (anymore), which ... kinda shatters my whole world oO
Does this episode elaborate on that aspect some more? I still haven't watched the reboot series (shame on me) so I don't know.
Whiskers is the best thing in this episode XD
Great episode. And it's based on a Don Rosa story, even better.
Della duck is a live on the moon
Great review as usual. This is one of my favorite episode, btw are you posting The Last Crash of the Sun Chaser review today as well, because the finale is tomorrow.
I did these two earlier in the week -- if I have time after work today, I will, but I don't know if I'll get it done in time.
That's also why all of these are on-camera instead of animated and scripted though! Trying to get them done in time! If I do, I might do a live stream tomorrow after the finale... though i'm not sure yet!
Dude, tomorrow is the season finale of ducktales, mind blowned?
I'm surprised you didn't mentioned the ending of the Scrooge's subplot with his father as it's another Easter Egg to another Scrooge story from the comics.
I related so much with Webby XD I'm exactly like her when I see something I'm fangirling about, grinning like an idiot and hyperventilating
I'm quite surprised that nobody mentioned Scrooge's siblins in this episode.
Well Hortense is dead so why should we mention her, and IDK if the writers still remember Matilda?
I’m in my late 20’s and I have had an incredible bond between my dad compared to my mom.
Cool three Caballeros shirt I can't wait in season 2 where they will show up on ducktales it going to be amazing!
Good stuff man looking forward to seeing your thoughts on the last 2 episodes!
This episode is really good, so it took me a few rewatches to notice that the premise is completely batshit. How did Scrooge's workers restore the castle without finding the treasure themselves? And if any of the McDucks knew where the treasure was, how were they once so poor?
Finally getting caught up after a weekend of camping!
Can't wait for the new review but take your time!
Webby in this is gonna be me in the season finale
Cant wait for your review of epusode 23.
Hey Seaniccus, after you do your review of the season finale, could you do like a speculation / theory video for Season 2. You know, based on whatever happens in the finale, the info we got at comicon, and impressive knowledge of the comics.
I don't want to promise anything until after the finale, but hopefully I'll have a lot to speculate on
Wow, first time you’ve done a DuckTales Reboot episode review one day after the previous.
Yay another video!
The next review is one of THE BIG ONES
I can't wait for your NEXT review.
This was a fantastic episode
it was a real good ep.
I like it.
I like your shirt, Seaniccus.
Will you please do a spoiler version of The Last Crash Of The Sunchaser? I want to know your full reaction to this episode
HYPE IS REEEAL FOR ME FOR SHADOW WAR 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😂🤣😁😋🙂🤨😶😚🤗☺😑😉😏
wait wait wait wait
if Scrooge re-built the castle
and the treasure is /in/ the castle
why doesn't Scrooge know where it is
or at least why is he so surprised (well, as surprised as Scrooge can be) about secret passages and stuff?
The dog was probably the Black dog, a monster from England/Scotland.
Webby is the embodiment of twitter stan culture 😂
So if the castle was moved from Scotland and rebuilt.....wouldn't he know everything in the dungeons?
Or did he rebuild it in Scotland and they just traveled there? I forget
I can't wait for next two episode review
This was an awesome episode!
Was a great episode.
Scrooge is 151 years old
😱😱😏
I love his t-shirt
I really want to know what you have to say about the episode after this.
Two videos in two days? Oh boi
The best episode
I love these so much great vid
I like watching your videos and can't wait for your next review of The Last Crash of Sunchaser. But... maybe you should use a different music this time instead of usual. I'm not saying that music is bad (I like it) but let just say this episode TLCOS got us pretty hard and I don't think that your usual backround music will fitting or make it feel easier (or better) for us this time. I am pretty sure you saw it, so you know what I talking about, right?
was such a great episode
Where did you get that shirt and where can I get one?
Aw no more sideburns lol :P
Really looking forward to your next review. I hope you cried as much as I did.
he kinda looks like shaggy if he dropped out of mystery incorporated
