Sir, You have done justice by showing the world what your great grand father has done. This house inspires not just the inheritors but any one who sees such magnificent house in your video. You should feel proud to being the inheritor of this fabulous house. With such good facilities in the house all you inheritors should return back and live together in this house.... with work from home facilities govts should give exclusive privilege for owners of these houses to work 100% from home. What a foresight, planing would have gone into building with such facilities like hosting functions for 1000s. The skills exhibited by the artisans is par excellence, no world to explain. Amazed to see the arch in good shape even after 100 years. It is unbelievable when you said the painting is never done and it is the original colour of the lime, egg shell mixture used. The shining tiles and the white granite steps look anew. Makes me wonder why we are not producing such tiles now a days.... take care work form a consortium of Chettiyars owning such huge houses, work with TN govts to facilitate orders for work from home for the inheritors..... if the house is occupied for regular daily use, the house will live inits glory for ever. 🙏🏼😊.

This a marvellous architecture . I have heard about these houses in Karaikkudi Nelakkottai etc. The granite work , carpentry , doors , windows are made by excellent craftsmen. Wonderful building well maintained no cracks,, Surprised the mortar used for binding bricks ( lime, sea shells, egg yoke, and molten jaggery etc. Thanks for posting this amazing palace building

The rest of the Tamils and their artistic/cultural heritage.
I have visited traditional houses of Brahmins also. in everything there simplicity is underlined. Only the Tamil trading community can boast of grandeur. Others lived in relative or marked poverty only.
That doesn't mean the others didn't have a heritage. My mother still recollects countless communities identified by their profession. Each and everyone has a story to share. That must be done.
