    Lyrics below:
    Dear Prudence,
Won′t you come out to play?
    Dear Prudence,
    Greet the brand new day
    The sun is up,
    The sky is blue
    It's beautiful
    And so are you
    Dear Prudence,
Won′t you come out and play?
    Dear Prudence,
    Open up your eyes
    Dear Prudence,
    See the sunny skies
    The wind is low
    The birds will sing
    That you are part
    Of everything
    Dear Prudence,
Won't you open up your eyes?
Look Around, round, round, round, round
Look around, Round, round, round, round
Look around, round, Round, round, round
Look around, round, round, Round, round
Look around, round, round, round, Round

Look around, round, round, Round, round
Look around, round, round, round, Round
    Look around . . .
    Dear Prudence,
    Let me see you smile
    Dear Prudence,
    Like a little child
    The clouds will be
    A daisy chain
    So let me see,
    You smile again
    Dear Prudence,
Won't you let me see you smile?
    Dear Prudence,
Won′t you come out to play?

If it helps... I heard "Peek-a-Boo" on Sirius satellite radio a week ago on channel 33 "1st Wave" and I've been devouring Siouxsie's work since then.
I keep believe I never knew who sang this before. I'd heard this song in the past, but I guess I chalked it up to someone else.

+Rob Heathers "I keep believe I never knew who sang this before. I'd heard this song in the past, but I guess I chalked it up to someone else. "
Perhaps because it was originally done by the Beatles? Lennon wrote the song for Mia Farrow's sister Prudence. When they were all living in India in the late 60s, she was obsessed with meditating and he wrote the song as a way of convincing her to take it down a couple notches. :-)

Bittersweet memories of my punk friend and I singing this during lunch break at school while our friends were banging to the rhythm on the tables. Such a beautiful mixed group of friends we had: white, black and everything in between, punk, new wave, disco, preppy, all enjoying the crap out of this song and many, many more, I truly and deeply miss the 1980s. How I wish the youngsters of today could have such an impactful, loving, carefree decade to keep them going on years later.

What makes you think they arent ("the youngsters of today could have such an impactful, loving, carefree decade"). Just because you dont get it doesnt mean everyone else is also stuck in the 80s. Every generation says the same thing and thinks their music and youth was the best times. Theres plenty of great music still out there and if you dont see it, then you havent look hard enough. There is more now with the internet than ever before. Sure theres lots of crap too...but the 80s also had them.

      @chillchica9626 2 месяца назад

@@avidadolares sure, there is still plenty of great music for kids today, but as a tail end millennial I can tell you that things are definitely not as carefree and laid back today, even compared to when I was a child. 9/11 literally changed everything. When I started elementary school the doors were never locked and we could pretty much wonder wherever we wanted at recess. After 9/11 the doors were locked and we were kept much closer to the school for fear of having to evac us if something else happened. We never worried about school shootings, to the point that during hunting season a lot of kids kept their guns in their trucks because they were hunting even before or after school. A lot of us carried pocket knives on us all the time and it was never an issue unless you took it out at school during a time it wasn't appropriate to do so, and even then you went to either the teacher or the office at the end of the day and got it back. Cops weren't called about it or anything. Kids today would catch a weapons charge if they took a knife to school. So yeah, kids today still have great music but they are far from as carefree as we were back then. Things have been completely changed and I watched it happen in real time.

Categorize or "labeling" the styles or musical genres are part of Musical Deconstruction (part of music history). If you have the opportunity to go a music academy or simply to know the basics of music theory you will realize that...
Differentiating between different styles of music is not difficult. Music must be distinguished and differentiated. At this point, the different genres/styles of "Dark Alternative Music" are differents and not fail into the same label..

@@apolonyus-sun Music "must" be distinguished and differentiated"??? Why? I understand genres (country, rock, electronic, classical etc) but to get to that level of micro-categorization is enigmatic of how GenZ/Millenials approach gender identification. Yes, you can over-label and thus over-complicate a subject to a point that it devolves to people arguing about where it 'fits' over simply enjoying the music and moving on.
Take Classical music for example...it's pretty known what to expect to hear when someone mentions Classical Music...you immediately think of Beethoven, Mozart, Hadyn, Wagner...but there is no sub-categorization of that whole genre...Why? Is it because it's "all the same" or is it just that its not as popular, and thusly, not focused on to sub-categorize? And, if so, where are the 15 different sub-categories of Classical music?
To put so much effort into doing this with modern music...it's akin and stinks of the Indie snob claiming "I heard them first and..." at your local starbucks.

Same here, there's not many really good cover versions in my opinion but this one isn't too bad. I know it's a Beatles song and I can see where Oasis got their inspiration for Wonderwall from. I can count on one hand how many good cover versions there has been. The Beat's version of "Tears Of A Clown", The Jam's "Move On Up" , Japan's "I Second That Emotion" and No Doubt's "It's My Life" for me are the only decent cover versions. There are some songs though that artists have covered and totally ruined but I won't go into that, needless to say that the vast majority of them are Boy Bands. We Are Number One But Baggy Trousers By Madness Thanks for letting me know. I'll look that up. I thought Japan were a very under rated band. Songs like Cantonese Boy, Life In Tokyo, Quiet Life,Visions Of China,European Son,Nightporter,All Tomorrow's Parties and of course Ghosts and I Second That Emotion never got the recognition they deserved. Also the album Tin Drum which is my personal favourite hasn't got a weak track on it. Not forgetting the brilliant "Forbidden Colours" David Sylvian did with Sakamoto. I still play their albums and they have definitely stood the test of time. Cheers
