Wish some modders could make a mod which nullifies this fall damage nerf.
I mean the game is all about how you choose to deal with zombie horde, now they simply limited your choice. Why limit the player?
Just be creative and make double or triple fall mechanism.
i just wanna thank you for this channel. this is one of my favorite games and these videos make it even better!
You are quite welcome! I am happy to help the 7 Days community as much as I can!
God I miss the good old days when I played 7d2d on pc back in the day. I really do hope that the fun pimps gather more crew and make this game go up the roof, because it has so much potential! And for the top of it I can't stop playing it, it's such a great game, I just wish they would revert back so the zombies would take fall damage, just so that the game has more variety to these bases. And again I love your content, you explain to the depths some things I wouldn't know about and I played this game waaay back in the older versions... Can't wait for the new update to drop, I'm so excited!
Never knew this dang it!!! Makes me miss the console days lol good stuff dude!!
Agreed! I miss sending the zombie jerks plummeting to their deaths!
Thats disgusting. I mean, I wouldnt have objected to them needing to fall from a greater height to be killed than a squishy human, because while its exploitable, it also takes a LOT more effort to create a 20 block+ falling distance for your horde base just to get the benefit. Or instead of taking health damage, they turn into crawlers when they fall far enough because their legs broke. You still have to kill them, but at least there is a benefit to the absurd amount of digging and building required to get the effect.
Ah well, its not like it changes the good old steel pit and pipe bomb routine, it just means they only take damage when you blow them up. Still pretty lame though. Its not even like its a cheesy exploit like the endless killing corridor where the zombie jerks would run off a cliff then get back up and go back to the start. A human body falling 20 blocks SHOULD be hurt badly by the landing.
Yeah I wish TFP would spend more time on finishing the game and less time on making changes like this.
@@SavensWorld Heh, how about adding in more to the storyline than the initial quest blurb? That might be nice. Thats honestly one of the funniest parts of the game to me. You literally start a storyline and thats all you get. A note from the mysterious duke, another note from some mysterious person who helped you, and a bunch of traders who somehow get fresh supplies twice a week with no explanation of how or why.
You would think after the last decade+ the game has existed for, some thought into either taking the storyline element out entirely, or giving us a little more to work with, might have happened. I really wouldnt object to a little more to the game than "survive till the horde eventually drags you down or you get bored playing."
So recap;
12 m = 2 dmg
15 m = 10 dmg
20 m = 20 dmg
50 m = 65 dmg
100 m = 106 dmg
Also each fall is 1/3 of their Total health so three large enough falls technically can kill them
So two 50m drops do more dmg that dropping all 100m in one go.. rough
Get on top of a 150m mountain, dig a pit to bedrock with ledges every 50 m and hope zombies don’t just dig through the mountain to you I guess
Edit: every 50m because two 50m drops would do 130 dmg but one 100m drop does 106 dmg. I wonder if there is a “terminal velocity” or equivalent
huh? 50m is only 42 hit marks not 65
@@mibattlebuddies4926 it is actually 65, but the fall damage is capped at 1/3rd of the Zombie Health
What about multiple falls? Is the total fall damage limited to 1/3, or is it 1/3 per fall?
This is my question as well have you found a answer by chance?
cant u just put stairs for them to go up again and fall until they die?
I want the answer to this if it's 1/3 their life its only 3 trips.
For science!
Another great info bomb. The upper cap is a little insane but the lower mechanics can be wrote off as drunk physics 🥴. Like how an inebriated person walks away from an accident unharmed when they should have been injured by it. 🤔 makes me wonder. Did you try alcohol as a damage reducer on that last video? I’ll have to go rewatch it.
Just tried to bring back the old console pit bases with pillars or arrow slits as the floor so we could shoot through but the zombies fall animation now glitches them through the gap😢
Yeah that glitch is really annoying
this was helpful
Mission accomplished! 😀
I played the console version and i recently got a pc and got 7d2d, im currently making a base with a moat knowing they cant die off of fall damage, but i planned to put blade traps at the bottom and to have a spot for me to shoot them as they fall, is this effective or am i wasting my time digging a 20 block+ moat around a big building like the junkyard in the desert
Wouldn't mind then not dying from fall damage if it at least debuffed them, like creating crawlers due to broken legs or at least making them slower or unable to sprint would be cool
Can you kill them by dropping them over and over? As in, have a sledge hammer pushing them or simply tricking them to fall over and over?
Good video, but further questions: does this mean 1/3rd of their maximum hp or remaining hp? Also, is there an altitude where the zombies can't sense/path to the player and just go into demolish mode?
Wait, can't you make a three tier fall trap?
It seems to me that this light fall damage is super unrealistic. I feel like decrepit zombies would take more damage than we would from those heights and completely obliterate. The developers are definitely missing out on some fun zombie body explosion mechanics.
It is possible actually make a 100 block deep pit and make a little bunker on to of that, then funnel them throw a small passage at the entrance and make a beam across the pit you standing on one side with a some fortified walls and near the beam place the sledge turrets on the sides to push them off the beam and with at least 1 block away from the beam so they can't destroy the turrets also have some stairs on the side so they can climb back up and repeat the process and they will die after the 8-10 times they do it. XD
lots of unanswered question. 1/3rd of current health or max health?
It's driving me crazy I want to find the answer.
What are the rule for console?
Whats the difference to console?? That's what I play on and I'd like to build a pit base for horde night. Do you know the block number for death?
Not off hand, but fall damage is much better on the console version. Pit Base designs are highly effective on console.
How much damage will every trap to each type of zombie?
I've elected to stick with Alpha 18, does anyone know if fall damage is comparable in that Alpha? Excellent video, by the way
I never did this and I still think the fall damage limit is ridiculous im fine with them being harder to kill but they should still be able to die with fall damage
Agreed wholeheartedly!
@@SavensWorld it's nice to see someone else really like and play this game especially since it is one those old relic games compared to more modern zombie games
@@SavensWorld Same id like to see them break there legs at like 30 and then take multiplier damage after that fall since they are not landing on just there legs but there whole body or possibly have a damage cap option in menu so they get down to a quarter health or so if that is how we want to run it
That was quite pleasing ;)
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
Best channel!
I appreciate that! Thank you 😊
I think it's wrong that zombies can Die from Fall Damage but we as in Players can.. we suffer more then Zombies is not really right.. Zombies are more Damaged then the players so a Zombie falling should be Crippled far worse then we are since their body is already Damaged..
Fun Pimps? Psh, more like Misery Pimps!
Huh, I didn't think Zombies took fall damage
They kind of do
Whoever downvoted Saven has some explaining to do.
It's all good. Haters gonna hate 😎
And this is how unfun pimps are killing this game...
🤔... I'm not that interested in zombie fall damage, but it does help to know what the damage output is for ZFD...😅👍
*Now if only they add Mod Weapons for Vehicles; now that would be a video I'd enjoy watching! 😈👌🏼
That would be awesome!
terrible,
