This guy is one of my favourite YT content creators. He's just recently got back from the US, and not so long ago filmed in Canada. Believe it or not he is sometimes defeated by challenges, but they tend to be more North America. Don't let his size fool you though, he was ranked as the 15th best professional eater in the world. Given your love for Fish and Chips he has just uploaded a video with his sister doing another monster Fish and Chips challenge. He's sometimes his own worst enemy though, he frequently starts eating too soon when the food is piping hot, and often comments he should have let the food cool a little first. He is a fitness nut with a very controlled diet the rest of the time to maximise his metabolism so he can burn it off. Plus he doesn't eat for a day beforehand and a couple of days after doing a challenge.

Gravy in the UK Melt butter in pan. Add tablespoon of plain flour Mix until a paste. Cook on very low heat to cook out flour flavour. Slowly add beef or chicken or vegetable stock to the paste and mix. Soo good
Check his back catalogue it goes back 7 years, he tours America 🇺🇸 loads of times. He's 5foot 10inchs,he has a podcast called breaking bread with his mate gosh gudgeon, very funny banter. Gravy is like flour & meat juice with water mixed together.

Curry and gravy are staple ingredients in the chippy meal (in the north of England anyway). The curry can be english, chinese or irish each have their own flavour profiles and recipes. The gravy is normally a thick beef broth brown gravy.
He's a fellow Yorkshireman, and, I think a fellow Loiner (A Leeds lad). He's got the typical Yorkshire self-deprecating humour, and, like others say, is a legend.

There is always a post credit clip you missed. I regularly work in a venue he did a challenge in a couple of years ago and he has been to a few places near me. It's always a thrill to see that. He lives about 90 min away from me. Cracking vid! Please do more. Preferably one with Mrs Beard in it.
He actually did a challenge at my brother's restaurant in Texas, which is how I found out about him. I've been hooked ever since. Also, every Christmas, he dose a music video and the proceeds go to a charity. Some of his video's are short, so you can react to a few of them at a time.
In manchester in the 70s there was a chippy near old trafford cricket ground tha was run by an elderly chinese couple...the gravy, peas,and curry were all served with the same ladle....so curry flavoured everything including babbies heads( steak and kidney steamed suet pudding)..also northern gravy is sticky like napalm😈👍

Standard curry sauce was introduced when immigrants came to the UK back in the 50's/60's and designed for the western palette. Singapor noodles has often included curry sauce.

we have lots of different types of bread , in our stores a standard wheat loaf comes in medium, thick and some times extra thick toaster, also some brands do a sliced farmhouse , and some of our stores have in store bakery and bake unsliced loafs so you can cut it to which ever thickness you like , and it normally taste better to . we also have granary , wholemeal , soda , black , polish bread and many more which i cant think off

Chip shops here all have the option of mushy peas, curry sauce, beans and gravy, some also sell pickled eggs, pickled onions and pickled gerkins. Go north into Scotland and you have the added delicacy of battered and deep fried Haggis and battered and deep fried Mars Bars, also a lot of Chippys also do Kebabs and Pizzas
OMG! Just looking at that plate of food untouched was enough to make me feel full already. I love fish, but I could probably only finish half of one that size with a small handful of chips.

I’m a Fish & Chips purest. Just Cod, chips and maybe mushy peas with a side of bread and butter. I think this stems from when I was growing up you couldn’t get all these sides of gravy or curry etc down in South-East England. Not that we had fish and chips often. Just twice a year, the night before going on holiday and the day we came home from holiday, two weeks later, so mum didn’t have to cook!
I love Beard meets food. I found it by pure chance (just like I did with your channel) and he's great. You need to watch more of his videos as he completes 99% and one of his regular things he does is to ask for a dessert menu after every food challenge.
The gravy is usually made from beef granules ( Bistp etc, and the Curry sauce is usually a very mild version of Chinese style Curry as opposed to a Vindaloo, madras etc) I couldn't manage that challenge, the fish would be enough for me

Chip shop curry sauce and mushy peas is a normal thing for the most of England, a lot of northern chip shops do gravy, and our bread used to come in 3 thicknesses, thin, medium and thick, I think most loaves now come either medium sliced which is probably more your thickness of bread in the US, and thick sliced, which he was eating ❤

If you are going to get Fish, chips and mushy peas. You get the gravy on top too. Especially in the North where Beard is from

Chip shop curry sauce and mushy peas is a normal thing for the most of England, a lot of northern chip shops do gravy, and our bread used to come in 3 thicknesses, thin, medium and thick, I think most loaves now come either medium sliced which is probably more your thickness of bread in the US, and thick sliced, which he was eating ❤
