I almost peed myself laughing with the neglect/re-homing advert, that part that made me lose it was the baby Marmite and the fact they blurred the kids and dogs faces. Don't know why I found that so funny, but it was pure genius.
Great reaction, check out the Irn Bru ads, they are just as clever.
That add was actually banned. Which is mad.
The joke with the mother breast feeding is that many British mum's used to give kids marmite on toast as their first solid food. It didn't do me any harm.
The UK ads are often better than majority tv shows 😄
The Marmite 'rescue' ads were made all the funnier by being narrated by Michael Buerk, a highly respected journalist and former BBC tv newsreader and presenter.
❤️
And at the time of the ad he narrated a series called 999, a show about emergency workers
The man who showed the world the 1984 Ethiopian famine.in a 2 minute report he changed the world.
Loved watching "999" which he also narrated.
A joke at the time was "Isn't it a pity that Wasps don't make Honey as they are so many more Wasps than Bees?" " They do, it's called MARMITE"
Hi Natasha and Debbie, greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
I haven’t seen any of those Marmite “Love it or Hate it” TV ads before seeing then on your channel. They were great and so was your reactions as you watched them.
Best wishes from Oxfordshire UK 🇬🇧
A couple of years ago my wife brought me a personalised jar of marmite which we still have on a shelf. Instead of the Marmite name it reads Smudgie!
Ha ha, love them, great video for you to react to. Personally I'm a ❤ and I used to work for Unilever who make marmite and their marketing was always on point. Thanks for the laughs 😃
im sorry i keep on commenting on this but i cant stop laughing thankyou for making me feel better
Natasha and debbie just watched this what an absolute pisser and both of your reactions had me in tears of laughter
Love Marmite, my favourite is the Limited Edition Chilli version known as Dynamite.
You just cannot beat marmite toast, l love it and so does my dog Lola, she is a marmite girl, those ads were hilarious, l remember them well.......they made me really hungry, l am off to the kitchen to rescue that jar...🙂
Thus, my Flickr web page is named Marmite Lens; you'll either love or hate the images from this Marmite Lens. Such is the cultural recognition of Marmite as a Love or Hate emotion. We could rename The Night of the Hunter, a classic Film Noir movie thanks to the classic knuckle shot of Love and Hate, to 'Marmite or Might Not'.
If you're ever in Brighton there's a butcher who makes Marmite sausages. They're either superb or disgusting!
You ought to watch the Iron Bru and Tango drinks adverts, p.s I’m a lover (of Marmite that is).
Oh hell now I need toast and Marmite lol... I ran out but will get some in the morning. Hey its really good with soup.... toast, Marmite and for me turnip soup lol
It makes me proud that we're so unhinged to make adverts like this - I cried with laughter at the rehoming one.
Hahaha. British humour at it's best. And a company that understands us so well that it promotes its product by taking the p*** out of itself, and us, and the things we love.
Brilliant!
“I love how they’re making fun of themselves”
Welcome to British humour.
We live to make fun of ourselves. It's makes for a great laugh. We never take ourselves too seriously.
@@margaretwaite7226 too true, im always ripping the piss out of myself lol
Loved the pixelating out the dog’s face 😂
Dogs love to lick inside those little fish-paste jars, but never seen a dog do Marmite jars...
I have lived in several Asian countries for more than thirty years. I have always had Marmite shipped out from the UK, Sri Lanka or Singapore. Cannot imagine life without it. Good on buttered toast, good added to peanut butter on toast, added to cheese on toast. Great added to meat stews, or as a hot drink on cold winter nights.
Good with beans on toast and scrambled egg on toast
@@sandraroyce5820 put it in the beans when your cooking them yum
Absolutely agree with all of those. If I can't get Marmite, I will happily settle for Bovril.....but it's not as unique as Marmite.
Good to know I'm not the only one who likes Marmite with peanut butter!
@@baccydemon3489 Marmite in beans? I've got to try that.
Brilliant video. I laughed so much I am crying. My favourites are the rescue team and DNA testing. For a food company to acknowledge that there are people who actually hate your product and make an advertisement campaign based on that is pure genius 👏
This idea is such a kind of cultural touchstone here that it's entered the everyday language and people will use the phrase "it's like marmite" or "it's marmite" to mean something divisive.
"Have you met Carol's new boyfriend?"
"Oh yeah. I thought he was a right laugh, but I can see how he might be a bit marmite."
It's only occurred to me just now that this must make no sense to people from other places! 😆
Or maybe he's got a yeast infection...
Well. Some places, I was shocked when a friends older Malaysians parents knew but she didn't, basically think empire and the ref might work.
This morning, my 4 yr old daughter said at the breakfast table, “i don’t like marmite, look at the label it says made from bums!” She had us in tears laughing the cheeky little bugger, she definitely doesn’t have the gene, i always suspected she was swapped at birth! 😂
Little genius.
Tried marmite when I was a kid and spread it like peanut butter , took me 20 years to try it again spread thinly , I now love the stuff . It's a food that should come with instructions 😂😂
Absolutely!! I think what has turned so many people off it is that they tried too much of it on their first tasting. A little goes a very long way.
It did once upon a time when I was a 'rugrat'
Yep thinly is best, love it !!
When I was at Naval college one of my mates ate a whole jar in one sitting! For a bet obviously. Even us Marmite lovers were nearly puking watching him.
Its not food its scum scraped from the bottom of brewery tanks 🤮
I've never seen Debbie laugh so hard as when that baby showed its disgust for Marmite! Fantastic reaction lovely ladies ❤️
The only thing that would have made it funnier, would have been if mom stared eating it again.
😂😂
When I was born, early fifties, Marmite was given out in health clinics to new mums. We were born to like it!
@@mikearmitage1577 eeeew really? You sure it wasn't Bovril? That was nourishing and used as a booster for health. Marmite just sounds wrong on every level
@bethcushway458 It’s worse when you put it on (REDACTED).
The marmite rescue ad has always been my favourite. Seeing it in your video has just made my morning 😊 Thanks for your hard work guys. I’m off for my toast and marmite 😋 ✌🏻💕
That really was epic. The ad team r genius. And Debbie losing it with baby vomit one really made me laugh til I cried. If there is one thing we can do in the UK it's take the piddle out of ourselves! Laughter is such a tonic. Gonna watch this episode again & again! THANK YOU BOTH. 💕
Just discovered The Natasha & Debbie Show and absolutely love it. Haven't laughed so much in such a long time. Going through all the vids atm. Being a Brit, it's so endearing to watch their reactions. PS - Marmite - lashings of butter and very thin layer of marmite is the best way to eat it. ❤ Keep these vids coming ❤ NW London
A fellow gentleman of culture. Well met, sir.
I feel exactly the same, so look forward to their videos, love them ❤️
Can’t believe I’ve never seen any of these adverts yet I’m a huge fan of marmite especially marmite cream cheese from M&S and the baby bell ones 😋😋😋😋😋
Wuss, you're supposed to have a thin layer of butter and a thick layer of Marmite. Though Texans hate it when you give them that the first time they try it.
@@Ven183 I spread it like chocolate spread hahhahaha
What a lot of people don't know is that Marmite is a great cooking ingredient even if you
don't like it on it's own. Try a teaspoon in a beef stew for example and you may be surprised at the improvment in taste it makes.
Dissove in hot water put it on potaoes before you roast...yummy
It's a great natural replacement for MSG.
It is, I use it in my vegetarian dishes.
Bovril is better in stew.
I like a blob in my spag bol 😋
Thank you for that. I hadn’t seen a couple of them. Your reactions to them were great 😂 my brother in law hated marmite, so my sister would give it to her kids, then tell them to go and give daddy a kiss. The reaction was very similar to the adverts 😂🤣
I get through a jar of Marmite a week. I don't understand how anyone can live without it. I would inject it if I could. Great reaction, ladies. X
You can get help. 🤣🤣🤣
Wow. I like Marmite, but wow.
Takes me months to get through a jar and both my wife and I like it (our son doesn't).
@@gailcrook2687 I would reject it in an instant! :-)
@@johnburton4577 The key is to spread it on as thick as chocolate spread, John. :-)
@@debrarufini6906 too salty for me that thick.
I’m pretty sure there’s a legal requirement to try Marmite when you’re 7 or 8 years old. Then, if you hate it you have to try it again in your mid-twenties just to make sure that you really ‘hate’ it. 😂
I tried it in my mid 60's it's still awful.
7/8 that's way to old.
Apparently in the kissing add the actors in real life had opposite taste. The boy loves it and the girl hated it. Good acting.
Neggers cheggers! Even the smell is gopping!
I think you have to try it at least once a decade, I'm now in my 40s and I still hate it.
Good to see that some companies can laugh at their products and people’s reactions.
Irn-Bru adverts next, please. 😂
I have cramps from watching this. I mean I’ve of course seen them before but never get old lol.
Thanks, guys… 😂😂😂
✌️❤️🏴🇬🇧🏳️🌈 xxx
I'm a Marmite lover and I have never seen these ads. I loved every single one. Thank you for making me laugh out loud xx
ME TOOO❤❤❤❤
Great way to start the week , marmite on toast and watching this . This was too funny 😂
Good old Marmite, you either love it or loath it, there doesn’t appear to be any middle ground.
It's a testament to the creativity of the UK advertising industry that ads like these are so funny, I'm a lover by the way.
Ok so I watched this about four hours ago and just about stopped laughing now. Happy days to you both and the whole USA from Ken in the UK xx
The "Marmite Rehoming Centre' clip at 13:12 showing the young girl skipping towards the entry kills me everytime. It's like an everyday thing
The Marmite rehoming one as I always find a poor neglected jar in my cupboard and feel guilty. 😂
But you fo buy it and after a few days, you just need a break.
I actually can’t stop watching this video! Natasha and Debbie’s reactions are even funnier than the adverts! Thank you for brightening up my day! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So I’ve got to go into hospital for a very small procedure in about 2 hours and I was an absolute bundle of nerves but honestly seeing you two and seeing some of these hilarious ads genuinely calmed me down~ Thank you ladies 😊
Also the best joke about Marmite in my opinion is:
Ma might, but Pa might not
XD
Aww thanks for telling us! You're gonna do great and be fine! We know it!! ❤️❤️
Good luck
@@TheNatashaDebbieShow
The procedure went well and I’ve been officially discharged, I actually ended up watching this video again while I was waiting since I arrived super early, thank you again 😊❤️
@@cob4467 I got home from the hospital not long ago, thank you for the good luck~ 😊😁
Glad to hear it all went well.
The RSPCA one is classic. The baby one was also very funny.
Thank you so much for the video; it was a great way to start the day! My favourite one is the rescue and rehoming one. The narrator is a man called Michael Buerk who was a newsreader on the BBC which proves that it's a piece of very serious journalism!
Remember a jar of Marmite is for life, not just for Christmas.
Michael Buerk wasn't just any newsreader, he was the reporter that covered the 1984 Ethiopia famine that led to Band Aid and then Live Aid.
They were brilliant! The re-homing was superbly done.
I likey like the likey like button but can we have more blah blah as well 🤣🤣
Hi Natasha & Debbie I absolutely love marmite especially on toast and crumpets 😂
Re-trying marmite on hot crumpets with lots of butter really is the most likely way to see the light and have a conversion experience. My Dad was the hater in our family, the rest of us liked it.
My favourite is the rescue ad. Don't remember ever seeing the gene test one, but it was really funny.
my favourite is the Zippy advert for Marmite
I remember the Marmite Love-Hate campaign adverts very well. Performed & written with aplomb. Marmite lover, here 😗. Thank you for the reminiscence, ladies !!
I love it! Both the product and the reaction! (And whoever suggested adding it to stews is spot on.)
One time here in the UK Marmite randomly sent out boxes of Marmite Toothpaste to people's homes via the daily post. My family got one. Everyone was like "WTF!!! Marmite TOOTHPASTE!!!" But when you open it up it's a Marmite Cereal Bar. Lol I held onto it for years then eventually sold it on eBay for like £50. Lol
I have watched this so many times, I love your reactions 😂🤣. ❤️🇬🇧
The problem with people new to Marmite is that they put far far too much on their sandwiches. It is extremely strong so you need only the slightest touch on your meat/cheese etc. Thanks for showing them. My favourite is definitely the rehoming ad. I laughed all the way through with you. Had forgotten how good these ads were.
Teehee, I beg to differ! Since the age of 14 my guilty(not so) pleasure has been to sneak to the pantry with a spoon and scoop up a large rounded teaspoon and shove it straight into my face and let it disolve slowly. On seeing this, my Italian husband of a few decades would start with a cry of....Oh Santa Maria Madonna!, followed by both Italian and English expletives. Until recently, when he reluctantly tried my favourite cabbage dish (yes, cabbage) fried in butter, dressed in much Marmite. He's heartbroken. He loved it. Seeing the girls laugh so much is such a pleasure. So is Marmite girls, truly, you just have to embrace it!
Spread it on, then try and scrape it off again. What you're left with is the correct amount.
Greetings from Scotland Mmmmmmm Marmite !!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT !!! 😋😍
Marmite, smashed cheese and onion crisps and cheese sandwich for lunch today. This video reminded me how much I ❤ marmite!
I haven't seen these ads for so long, I forgot about them, but can't stop laughing, brilliant.
I can't stop laughing. I've seen many marmite ads in my life, but I don't remember most of these. The baby one is hilarious, and the family feud one too. The last one does it for me too. Brilliant! Thanks for posting. I don't mind Marmite, if it's thinly spread
I love Marmite! I had never seen most of these ads. A very clever bit of marketing. Many years ago there was an advertising campaign for Carling Black Label beer which was very funny, you can almost certainly find them on RUclips, they'll make you laugh too.
The kissing one is genuine, I have had that. I had a boyfriend who refused to come near me after marmite. He'd try to make me brush my teeth, sod him I got five minutes peace.
It was also funny to eat it secretly then kiss him, this was his exact reaction.
You should be reported for that.
The staple on almost every British breakfast table. Love it, love it, love it
The mistake all newbies make is they spread it on thickly like peanut butter and it’s then too rich and salty and puts them off……less is more.
Trying to advertise a staple is going to be hard....these guys just knock it out the park
Being 59 years old English and a long time lover of marmite these are all adds I love as it’s totally true that people love or hate it. I remember having a conversation over the phone years ago with my best friend from school oddly both having Crumpets for lunch. My friend was having jam and I marmite. A heated discussion followed with my friend getting a jar of marmite and then converting. Thank you for a trip down memory lane. 07
Absolutely hilarious! My dad loved Marmite. I`ve used a small spoon of it when making a big stew it just taste richer and more beefy.
No beef in Marmite...that's Bovril!
@@sheilaheald2509, but it still makes beef stews taste 'beefier'.
I use it all the time in cooking - a teaspoon of it in shepherd's, cottage pies, hotpots etc... really boosts the flavour.
@@gillianrimmer7733 exactly
Hiya Marjie, Glen off the youtube channel Glen and Friends Cooking uses marmite for Hotpots, that sort of thing, and Glen swears by it
Debbie's reaction to the breast feeding baby was brilliant!
British adverts are some of the best in tge world. They don't just slap you in face to sell their products. They are often so subtle or funny or nostalgic.
Something I love about the Marmite ads is, unlike almost all British TV ads these days, they are gently but actively taking the mickey out of offense culture and identity politics that are rife today.
Well spotted. 👍
Bollocks.
Oh my god the breastfeeding one!!! I forgot about that advert! Hilarious 😂 I am currently a heavily pregnant marmite hater, so no chance of that happening 🤣....hopefully . I'm crying with laughter, so glad you guys get our humour xxx
UK adverts back then were brilliant
I'm afraid I'm definitely in the hating camp..someone once described it as like passing your bread between the legs of a sweaty rugby player after a match..gross but true..lol. We take ads pretty seriously here in the UK as you know from the public info ones you saw and the Christmas campaigns and we do like an ad that is self depracating/funny....thanks for this Monday morning treat, going to get my breakfast crumpets heated up with JAM! 😁
I had marmite on toast yesterday for the first time in ages, forgotten how much I liked it. But I probably won't have it again for a while.
Hi Natasha and Debbie, you will love these Hamlet cigar advertisements from the 60's and 70's on British television:-
ruclips.net/video/NIckHmwZAeI/видео.html
This site says it includes all of them.
Enjoy! Steve, London, UK
if you want funny adverts you should watch the old tango ads they are just utter brilliance
Yeah, but also check out the Irn- Bru adverts too, especially the mom and son with his mates around the kitchen table.
Or the John Smith's ads with Peter Kay!
The tango ads aren't funny at all.
Just about to have toast and marmite for lunch. I’m guilty of hoarding marmite. 😳😂
You've got to remember, the British TV commercial industry has been a breeding ground for Directors who went on to be huge Hollywood Directors - Ridley Scott being probably the best example. Their creativity is what sets UK TV advertising ahead of almost every other country. That's one of the reasons you get Marmite ads as good as these.
Natasha and Debbie on a Monday morning?
I usually enjoy these 🙂
I don't usually laugh out loud 🤣
What a great way to start!
Keep 'em coming, girls.
(A Marmite hater 😉)
As a proud Brit we do make some funny adds but i'm with you i HATE it. P.S. i HATE Twiglets too!
I grew up hating Marmite while my mum and sister loved it. I remember getting my American friend to try it when he came to visit back in 2008. I've never seen anyone run for the sink so fast! 😂 He was so embarrassed because he was so polite, so running for the sink to spit, while heaving, was out of character for him. It was so funny. 🤣
Love the ads - HATE, HATE the product. Love the ads so much, I bought a jar - it's neglected as I hate Marmite, but I had to support the ads.
I hate it husband loves it. I wish I could upload a photo on here and show you the size of the TUB of Marmite we currently have sitting in our cupboard. Damn you Costco!!!
I've got a big one too! Jar of Marmite❤ of course. Marmite haters are so dirty minded!! 😆🇬🇧
I like watching the marmite tasting reaction videos, but a lot of them are ruined by ppl sabotaging them, spreading way more than they should, knowing they'll get the worst reaction for a YT video, it's tasty in small amounts, but there's no need to ruin someones day for the sake of a video, these ladies are genuinely hilarious with their reactions to foreign humour and adverts :)
The Rescue team advert actually received a lot of complaints in the UK, because some people felt like it mocked and downplayed the real situation of animal neglect. Of course a lot of people enjoyed it for what it was, but the concept was dropped after the complaints.
Personally I think it would raise awareness of animal rescue charities not mock them.
One word: brilliant!
That's for the reaction, ladies. Thank you.
I’ve never appreciated just how funny these adds were until now, thank you 😂
😄 Now you're ready for the 'Tango' (soft drink) ads 🤣
Brilliant ads - so self-deprecating - and I’m a marmite lover.
Sorry! I was raised on marmite, and can't get enough of it. Out of interest, have you tried it on toast with peanut butter? Sounds odd, I know, but some people rave about it. Also, you can make a hot drink out of the stuff for cold winter days. Dissolve half a teaspoon of marmite in hot water, (in a mug, obviously), and add a splash or two of sherry or port - or possibly brandy. Think I'll go and do that now.
I'm a rarity -- a US Marmite lover. Discovered it in my 40s. Love it with butter, peanut butter, and especially with cream cheese.
The supermarket near me doesn't understand what it is. Since it says "yeast extract" on the label, they shelve it with the baking supplies.
Right, and Marmite even sell their own yeast extract flavoured peanut butter.
I've not had a TV in years, so a few of these were new to me. Absolutely crying with laughter. Thank you for sharing this. Oh yes, I'm a marmite lover and marmite and peanut butter is delicious.
Just LOVE Marmite! Great video. I hadn’t seen many of these, but some brought tears to my eyes from laughing 😂
You're not burning us out. As long as you are not tired or sick of doing so many extra videos, we're all here for you, eager for more. 🤣🥰🤧🤔🥳 Happy Holidays XX
Marmite is an amazing food when used correctly. Lots of butter(or alternative) the tinniest spread of marmite (so you can hardly see it, and some slices of peeled cucumber. Crusts removed off the bread. Yum.
I'm a Marmite lover and when my son was young, I tried to indoctrinate him by mixing a little Marmite with a lot of butter and telling him it was peanut butter. Needless to say, it didn't work but it gave me the excuse to eat more Marmite. Now I can buy it ready mixed with actual peanut butter (crunchy or smooth) and it is amazing. Thank you for the laughs x
I took the Marmite gene test and my result: I'm a Marmite Lover! I love it on toast and you can't beat a cheddar cheese and Marmite sandwich!
Scrambled eggs on toast with marmite... dreamy..
I love marmite and you two made me laugh until I had watery eyes.
Oh. I was roaring with laughter. I had forgotten these adverts were so funny. Plus myself and family are lovers of Marmite.
Much love and thank you 💓
I have a restaurant close to me and they serve warm artisan bread with various dipping oils and the reason I keep going is they also serve whipped marmite butter. Oh hell yeah 😋
I bloody love Marmite. Grand to see you guys reacting to the Ad campaign. Still chuckling.

I tested positive for Marmite from an early age. This is hilarious so thank you from a grateful Brit. I regularly go on hunting trips round Spanish supermarkets ( I live in Spain) to find this rare species on the shelves. Of course there is an Australian variant the V variant. 😆
