Swings rarely get to do a solo in West End Live. I’m so glad they had Rachel do it. I’ve seen her live and I know how iconic she is. %100 deserved her solo.
We saw her this past Sunday also in the Catherine of Aragon role. She's fabulous. Reminds me of Abby Mueller but with even more range, and Abby already had that!
Having the swing (and being recognisable as a swing by costume 😂) as a lead performer just proves something really! Like omg dont doubt the swings and understudies for second. They are 🔥🔥🔥I am obsessed with this!
@@bencoatesworth7731 Yeah anytime you see a performer in Six in a costume where the color is different from the usual (Gold for Aragon, Green for Boleyn, White for Seymour, Red for Cleves, Pink for Howard, and Blue for Parr) it means they're a swing or understudy. They try to give them a costume that's unique to each performer. This is the case in most productions except Broadway (and I believe all American productions that are union) due to union rules stating understudies can't have different costumes from the principal cast members.
@@JessaRose Yes, it’s easier to tell from the Broadway cast because the costumes remained the same. I didn’t realize Aragon was a swing until reading the comments. Way to go Queens!

@@maaike150299 principals are the actors cast specifically for those roles, e.g. Claudia is principal Seymour on the West End so she will get the majority of those shows. Every week, the principals at Six get 1 scheduled show off so they can get a break/rest. On these shows off, an alternate is scheduled to play the queen (alternates can go on for any six of the queens. Alternates have 3 costumes in the UK: 2 principal costumes for their 2 main covers and 1 costume for the other 4. e.g. Danielle has principal costumes for Boleyn/Howard and the orange costume for the other 4 queens). However, if an alternate is not available to cover a queen, a super swing takes the role instead: someone who can SWING on at any time to play any of the six queens (e.g. Rachel has the black swing costume and Esme has the silver costume). It could be the sound of whatever recorded the video, I think it could be trying to tune out the audience cause I saw a few insta stories of the performance and there where times when the audience cheered really loudly and the actresses’ audio was fine
WEL is notorious for the audio just not being great in the videos. Everyone tends to sound a little off compared to other recorded videos from people in the audience.
When did Aragon's costume change to white? I'm so used to the powerful gold, white just kinda makes her seem like another wife that did nothing, no special role in the story when she's the real power that starts Six in the first place! Like she's the first wife! Where's the gold for her? The first queen? The white makes more sense for Seymour because white's a wedding color and the black is usually used for funerals, which mixes well with her story. But two white costumes on stage? It really doesn't coordinate well unlike the gold, green, white, red, pink, and blue from the og costumes. Yes, the actress looks gorgeous in the white but it's such a weird change for me. I wanna know why they changed it in the first place so if anyone knows why please tell me! Absolutely no hate the the actors or creators of the show, it's a beautiful and amazing show it's just an...odd costume choice.
Hey there! Aragon's primary costume hasn't changed. It's still same powerful gold as usual across every production. However, the actress playing Aragon in this performance is an understudy swing who has her own unique costume. As she covers all the roles, she's given her own "plain" costume with some variations. This allows the costume team to save money while still having a gorgeous costume for an understudy to perform in, as against giving her (and by extension, all the other swings and understudies) six different costumes for each queen which would be very time consuming and expensive for an actress who isn't even necessarily guaranteed to perform. So yeah, Aragon's costume is still the same!
I'm just not really feeling it this version of 'No Way.' She's a fine singer, but it feels weird to have such a smiley tone when the lyrics are about how indignant and angry she is. The 'Six' part was pretty good though. I quite like this Jane.
