Cool. Someone made a puppet like Jim Henson has already done. Did you know Boston Dynamics has an actual AI walking Robot and not a puppet robot like this one.

When are they going to walk as well and fast as the robots we see in the movies? I find it a little hard to believe that we still don't have the technology to achieve this.

Can we just appreciate how tesla are the only ones in the humanoid robot industry not doing the marching motion with their Optimus bot unlike other companies
I asked ChatGTP why humanoid robots walk with bent knees and here is what it says: The reason why humanoid robots often do not fully extend their legs while walking is related to how their movement and balance are controlled. In human walking, extending the leg allows for efficient energy use and stable posture. Robots, on the other hand, rely on constant adjustments and a balance system to ensure their stability. By keeping their knees bent, robots can better respond to changes in terrain and maintain their balance, especially when moving in a dynamic environment or performing tasks. It also allows for greater flexibility and adaptability in their movements, similar to a human walking on uneven ground and keeping their knees slightly bent to absorb shocks and maintain balance. Furthermore, balancing technology in robots is a significant challenge, and bending the knees acts as a safety mechanism to minimize the risk of falling. It's an area of robotics that is constantly being developed to make robots more human-like and their movements more natural.
They could today with very expensive and advanced build, but it wouldn’t be very manufacturable and couldn’t scale. It will take time for cheaper scalable solutions to be more human like, but with the Tesla Vision based approach it seems to be about the data. Similar to V12 FSD promises to be more human-like, Optimus will improve similarly over time with more data.
El primer auto que se inventó creo que su velocidad era de 10 kilómetro por hora ahora hay vehículos que alcanzan una velocidad de 400 kilómetros por hora
So close. That slight shift of weight from heel to pad and transfer through the knee. So close. The feet will be the leap forward, perhaps. Its almost fluid like.
Probably work in Tesla factories, then branch out to other manufacturers. Optimistically it would be at least 5 years before it makes economical sense to deploy them in homes. Depend on how they prioritize the allocation of the bots.
Engineering.. a wide range of different engineering skills are needed. Take your pick on what interests you most and dive in! The world is your oyster.
That will be interesting to see where they target it. The power demands should be pretty good, it’s using 1/2 of a FSD HW4 compute (redundancy is less critical) but the battery won’t be anywhere near the size of the vehicles. It should do pretty well. For the initial test cases in factory work it will likely be possible to just have a power cable attached and battery chems keep evolving so probably not the focus in the near term.
It looks like me when I would sneak into the kitchen to steal cookies.
Walks like biden😅
😂😂
Hahagag
It's a Bidenbot 2024
lmao
Elon did say he wanted it to be non threatening
I observed myself walking. I notice we extend our knees straight and fall on our heel. We walk like this cautiously on slippry ice.
I mean, if I was a 250 pound robot that could fall over easily and break, Id walk cautiously too.🤷♂️
Goose stepping❤😂

Those are fully scripted pre-recorded movements imho.
