You CAN be in those areas. That's why they include multiple flashlights and lighters, in case you didn't go the way you went and found them earlier. Plus, if you weren't supposed to be there, the game would stop you of course.

no the DJ, the mailman, the beggar, that guy who jumped in the beginning, and the redheaded chick are all there for some reason or another. they all generally have sinned in some way or done something they are in denial of, so they are stuck in silent hill until they come to the realization of what they did. if they are good hearted, they can leave, otherwise they are stuck there. and every person sees silent hill in a different way.
Man, I hate the fact that I solve the puzzles earlier than brad, in both places with the UV lit symbols, there where those "candle holders" and I bet they where for the right eye of the soul to look at the symbol in a different way.
BRAD! Those candles! Remember those places you'd go into where you'd find a barrel or a stack of something that had a candle holder on it? I'm sure those sigils are the candles. I recall one being in the subway with that guy and another being in this small "playground" area.
This place where the shotgun is has a coat for homer in it! Also when u find the shadow sigils, they need to be placed and turned to match each pic on the wall by them. Kthxbye.

Go back Brad! There's a painting for the art gallery puzzle in the other room of the hardware store! Oh and I stand corrected, he found the bulb really quickly after finding out he needed it. Also the Shadow Sigils thing is difficult as balls so good luck if you decide to try it. :)
I guess some fights like this one inside that secret tunnel is a must fight. You might unlock some mystery or flashback scenes...For example, I think in that bank mystery sidequest, you killed an enemy and one drawer unlock, so if you kill all the enemies there, you might unlock the "mystery" in the bank. Those are the fights that clearly look neccessary.
Silent Hill does exist as an actual place in the game. It burned down much earlier than the games though (the whole backstory of the place is actual canon in the games). Every Silent Hill main character is supposed to have, at one point or another in their earlier lives, have gone to Silent Hill. Because of the whole "Built on an Indian Burial Site" bit, it has the power to bring to life a persons fears/sins/guilt etc. And, in one perspective, is about helping people overcome them.

Every Silent Hill game has a some piece of lore in it mentioning how Silent Hill was built on an Indian Burial ground. I was just more commenting on how Secret said that Silent Hill is a place that doesn't exist. Which I assumed meant physically, but it is an actual town (in the games lore, not real life)
if you press left on the d pad with the shotgun equiped you can put it on your back and switch with the handgun, then switch the handgun for a melee. works for me
once you leave on the main mission,No more going back to side mission..I thought you'd do at least cinema..but the game has a lot of research no rush.always needs to play again, to discover all the little things,but it is good to.. shows that the game is great
@theradbrad I live in louisiana, did you get hit with that huge ass storm? My roads in front of my house were flooded, almost to the inside of my truck, had to put it up on the yard to keep it from flooding out!!! What about you?
No, not because he couldn't find stuff in a game, it's because he has failed to see things right in front of him, numerous times. And sometimes had no idea what to do even when it was so obvious. I'll give u an example, there was a place where u had to return items to owners in a building, in the apartment of the veteran he had to put the medal, there's gunshot going around, war sound's, and this guy is like "umm i have no idea what to put here, i'll just try everything". Now that just stupid.
hey i noticed theres a bunch of pull-down-able ladders as you run around. but the harpoon thing breaks easy, you should drop one some place and memorize were you left it
