    Great pack between downloading and playing it took me about 3 min to get it going. Yes it’s that easy.

  • @lucyferina
    @lucyferina Год назад

    You can also create your own kits after loading reality, copy a kit you like and if for example you didn’t like the snare on that kit, but you like the snare on another kit, you can copy just the snare you like from whatever kit to your newly created kit. Same can be done for any other pad. You do this in the module after you have already loaded Reality. By the way I just got this about 3 hrs ago…great product.

    Thanks for the tutorial! I just bought the Roland VAD507 with the TD-27 2.0 module and am disappointed by the sounds right out of the box. So I am thinking of buying an external pack with better sounds and did some search in the internet. There is a lot! First choice seems to be VST via PC or loading a pack directly into the module like V Expressions. Because there is no way of testing them in your own environment I wonder if it is possible to buy different packs from different providers to be sure I'll get the sound I want? An expensive way maybe but I don not want to lose anymore time with all the technical stuff and just get playing!

    Hi Alan. I have q question: Is there any way to fix, change, modify the samples from TD 27 Sound Module that sound, let's say: Floating/ lisp/ bubbling? I mean especially accoustic toms: Stainless, Maple, Birch.... and Accoustic Snares, like, for example: Hard Wood Fat Snare, Beech Fat Snare, Brass Snare, Picollo.... I mean, those accoustic Toms and Snares sound like they were under water

      I agree. I don't know what it is with this module, but compared to the TD-30 the stock samples sound off and odd to me.

      So again, it's contact Roland. It's likely an update/upgrade issue.

    My goodness! Way to complicated whatever happen to download a file into the module choose on the module what you want to play and presto end of story. I was really going to get this but i'll some how screw this all up and probably loose information on the SD card and the module. Looks like i'll have to just tweak my own sounds. and i thought i was pretty tech savvy.

    • @VExpressionsLTD

      These have been the same steps used for Roland backups for decades. The steps aren’t hard at all. You actually described the exact steps I demonstrated. 1. Download a file. 2. Put it on the module via a card. 3. Choose on the module what you want to load. You’re scaring yourself for no reason. You won’t lose anything on your SD unless you purposely choose to format/write over something. In both cases, you are asked twice if your are sure you want to. I even show that in the video. Doesn’t sound that hard really.

      Thanks so much Allen, I guess I’ll give it a try and see what I can do. I must say the sounds you created are great that’s why I even thought about downloading them in the first place. Apparently you put a lot of time and effort into it. Also BiG UP’S to your demonstration on all the samples you were slamming on. It was perfect, great drumming!!!!! IMO these sounds are competitive with virtual software if not better. Lots of people think there’s no hope with the module sounds. At the end of the day it’s all subjective anyway. The average person who’s listening to different genre’s of music everyday through different media platforms whether it’s headphones, earbuds, boom box, in the car or whatever, they don’t care what or how it was recorded or if you used ez drummer, Steven Slate ,superior drummer etc to the everyday average listener if it sounds good then it is good. Let’s not forget everybody is not a musician or artist or an engineer. Let the music play!

      I agree. I just want to okay the damn to things. It’s difficult to set the pad and cymbal settings.

    • @VExpressionsLTD
      @VExpressionsLTD  3 года назад

      How is it difficult? You literally just chose/verify the pad type for each input and you're done. It's not difficult at all.

    is it the reality packs intention to remove all rolands kits and replace it with 60 of your kits ? and are they v2 compatible , i have read your manuals to the best of my abilty but i am not following if your kits replace rolands kits as 68 factory kits only 100 kit slots available and your kits 60 in total sorry if i am repetitive

    • @VExpressionsLTD
      @VExpressionsLTD  Год назад

      Page 43 of your Roland manual explains how to copy a kit from the backup on your SD card if you do not wish to load everything at once. It is also recommended if you wish to retain extensive trigger setting adjustments. Otherwise yes, you can load the entire expansion, it will overwrite your current module's state, and you may have to choose your pad setup again. Remember, you can also copy the original Roland kits from the module's backup memory. So, the choice is completely up to you. All expansions are v2 compatible. Hope that helps!

    I am looking for the simplest way of recording my audio performance made on my TD27 and getting it on my mac so that I can combine it with guitar/keyboard tracks created by other musicians. Would the bext solution be using a USB wire connection from my module directly to the mac, and then importing my drum tracks into Garageband?

    • @VExpressionsLTD
      @VExpressionsLTD  3 года назад

      Use the approach that works best to get what you need. If you need direct tracks of each instrument, then USB is obvious. If you just want the master signal, you can simply send the master signal traditionally. Your call.

    • @ajmesiti2857
      @ajmesiti2857 3 года назад

      Yes I’m just looking for the master signal. In that case is there any reason the SD card approach would be recommended over a MIDI-USB wire from module to laptop?

      @@VExpressionsLTD i’m just using the kits straight out of the box. I took the module and the digital snare drum home to work on sounds and it sounds horrible. I mean it just doesn’t sound anything like everybody’s demo reviews of the kit. Do you have to have the snake connected to make the digital snare work properly? I had a TD 25 and it sounded better than this out of the box. That’s before I edited the TD25 sounds. After I edited them they were even better once tweaked them. But they sounded awesome right out of the box. The snare doesn’t sound like it’s in stereo at all. I’m using Mackie MP220 in ear Monitors. Is that the problem? I’ll definitely buy some V expressions from you for sure, but I’d like to at least get a halfway decent sound on my own…lol Thanks for getting back with me, that’s super nice of you!😁💜

      @@bobbyjones2112 Well, Roland default kits are pretty well known to suck right out of the box. That's where we come in. I can't really speak for your IEMs, as I have not used that particular set. Your DP Snare should be connected to the module via the USB I/O. All I can really add is you should take advantage of our sale. It's only through Monday and will save you some money. www.vexpressionsltd.com/ I'd also highly recommend the IEMs or headphones on our recommendations page I linked above. I think our kits and possibly a better set of IEMs/headphones will fix you right up. No, I'm not trying to "sell you", but I know the recipe for success. ;)

      @@VExpressionsLTD Yeah, I ran into that problem like the first couple of weeks and I'm sure this is not the solution but I bought another high-hat stand and disassemble the whole thing and put it back together and I have had an issue so far in the last three months. Crossing my fingers. LOL

    • @VExpressionsLTD
      @VExpressionsLTD  3 года назад +1

      It's likely you increased the hi-hat offset during the last setup, and this is what is helping. This has been my experience, but is not the "answer". I've gotten unofficial confirmation that most hat triggers are exhibiting these issues, with the 13 being the worst of them all. Since this is the response I've received "unofficially", it is likely Roland Japan is looking at and improving the [likely] midi-range issue regarding hi-hats in the module. I mentioned somewhere prior that we noticed on pad types that allow midi-range adjustments, the issues were vastly improved, yet not corrected completely. I would keep an eye out later this year for a firmware update.

    • @AntonShields

      @@VExpressionsLTD thank you so much for responding yes I’m looking for a firmware update as well because it needs one. They can improve the connectivity to other software like EZ drummer and superior drummer. It’s not horrible but if you don’t know it’s coming it’s a pain in the butt

    I accidentally erased all the Roland preset kits and forgot to save them. Can you send me a back up of the internal Roland preset kits?

    • @VExpressionsLTD
      @VExpressionsLTD  3 года назад +2

      They're in your module in the preset section. Please take a little time to read your manual when you have a chance.

    • @VExpressionsLTD
      @VExpressionsLTD  3 года назад +1

      Your firmware update I was not completed. Either the update installation was interrupted (it takes quite some time, and you likely interrupted it), and or you need to perform a factory reset. Try the factory reset FIRST. If it doesn’t change anything, try the latest firmware installation again, followed by a factory rest again. If that doesn’t work, your incomplete update bricked the module, and you’ll have to contact Roland to get it fixed. You’ve already told me you hadn’t installed the VEX kits, so this is about the firmware update. Roland needs to help you.
