I start of by saying I got here on click bate. I was about to explode in the comments. Then after about 3 mins in I thought, "that Dave is genius"! However, I would have thought his love for Gibson guitars came from Angus Young? I'll be in the guitar buying market again in a couple months or so, I'll certainly check this out! I'm looking for a 335 more than a V. I've never seen it do metal, but who's to say it can't!
All I can say is that I have a Jackson King V Pro Dave Mustaine MIJ from 92 and its the best guitar I have. And I have a LOT of high quality guitars....
@@irmasil3 It's no secret that Dave loves Jackson. He even tried buying the company before Fender got a hold of it. You can really get some get some good deals on Jacksons of that era. However, Jackson MIJ quality of that time was HORRIBLE! It was so bad they closed down the factory.
@@amordeus2681 From wha I have heard MIJ back in the day where so GOOD that they were compared with the USA models easily. I can only comment on my own guitar which is the typical era MIJ Jackson (poplar wings, quarteshawn maple, ebony board construction) and its one hell of a guitar. I have 2 other USA custom shop Jacksons (another V and a KE1) and its EASILY up there with them if not better. Its my go-to guitar.
The more I listen to Dave recent interview, the more I believe he is in a happy place right now. It also reflects in his newest album which is heavy, fast, and very nice to listen to.
I dunno, the fact that he'll let Gibson control his speech like that (making him call Dean "The Company") came across as weak and sell-outy to me. I lost a bit of respect for him here. Not a fan of the new album, either. Much like Priest and Maiden, Megadeth hasn't put out a really good album since the 90s imo
Joe Rogan isn’t a musician. Joe Rogan is going to focus on life and personal philosophy. Why would you ever expect Rogan to know about Dave’s Seymour Duncans? That’s pretty idiotic, immature and downright ignorant.
Yknow I always find some serious validation when I grew up in the 90’s and I started listening to KISS and idolizing Ace. I’m glad that my musical journey started like so many of my own Metal idols.
This current line up is like a band again and Dave confirms it. You can tell he let Kiko and Dirk into his circle and they are able to contribute to Megadeth in a way that was missing for years. My favorite line up since the 90's, by far. And the new album shows it.
@@goofykid2027 Outside of Ellefson, Dave hasn't kicked a member out since 98 when Menza was fired. Every member outside of that left on their own. Dave DID change. Stop being a hater.
this is one of the best interviews Dave has done, he was being sincere and talking about personal battles with the cancer and then reaching out to guys like Tom Keifer to help hi,m, acknowledging they would have been mortal enemies back in the day. he claims MEgadeth is as big as they have ever been....I hope so.
Great interview! Dave seems so content and happy right now. Even when he wasn't in a good place, he always gave a good interview. Uses a lot of analogies and imagery in his interviews, which is interesting and engaging. Such an articulate, intelligent and colourful character. So cool to see and hear he's still around and relevant after all this time.
Singing is a hard craft. Generally I've never been into singers. I like people who can use their voice like an instrument. Dave may not have a conventional voice but he uses it to the greatest effect. Having a 'proper singer' wouldn't work. It wouldn't be Megadeth.
Happy Birthday Dave, and thanks to Sweetwater and Gibson for delivering my Dave Mustaine rust in peace Flying V im glad I preordered it .The one I received is flawless ,thank you Chris Jenkins my salesman.
Well yeah that kind of goes without saying. Joey is the only actual singer in terms of the big four. The reason why it works is the same as why it does/did for Slayer, Motörhead, RHCP, Primus among others: They compliment the instruments well.
Honestly that acoustic looks cheap asf. I liked his dean acoustic designs so much better. Even on the electric guitars. I mean The “Angel of death” cmon. Thats a badass guitar.
That's insane, of course but I think a good acoustic is always much more than an equally good electric ...and it's Gibson, so that's probably their idea of affordable.

Yeah, pretty much all the endorsers at Dean have gone since Rubinson's son took over. Guess Gibson will go after Michael Schenker next. The new Gibson management just treat the endorsers better now. They still have a long way to go on their production line QC.
