- Okay, hear me out.
I really enjoyed Deadpool 2. I think it is as funny as the first. New characters like Cable and Domino were great. It feels the most "X-Men" of any of the recent X-Men movies. Not the best (cough cough Logan) but the most like the X-Men comics and cartoons.
However, there was one character that I believe didn't work as well as he should have.
And I don't want to name him since his involvement in the film is itself a spoiler. I don't think he was bad or in any way ruined the movie, but I think he could have easily been subbed out for another classic X-Men character and it would have made a more interesting story.

Nando v Movies She works at a costume shop in Hollywood that works on many of the mid-tier superhero films. She also made The Comedian and Owl suits from The Watchmen. She worked on an unused iteration of Wonder Woman’s costume and a bunch of the alien costumes in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. She currently works for Henson and did costumes for the upcoming sequel to The Dark Crystal.
That's so cool. Tell her I said that I really like the Watchmen costumes.
In fact, I used to have those action figures but I'm not sure if I do anymore.

I completely agree. And I totally get it. If I wrote this movie with Blob in mind but FOX said "Hey, if you want, you can use The Juggernaut", that's very tempting.
didnt also deadpool fought the juggernault in #2 comic of 1994 ? maybe they actually wanted to deadpool to face the biggest bad because that will build up in the next movies, like he saying," we cant beat juggernault, so who will be the villain now dr doom?" and maybe doctor doom appears and deadpool fix another bad fox adaptation

If Cable didn't break into the prison Deadpool would've died in prison of cancer which would've resulted in Russell becoming evil, but sense he cause the prison break he saved Deadpool's life ultimately saving the entire future sense

Well yeah, that's the plot of the movie
I think this movie had a lot of problems, but Juggernaut was probably the least of them.
In fact, if it's a story about abused mutant orphans, Juggernaut is the perfect foil. Juggernaut has a history of playing surrogate big brother to young weak mutants, and taking out his hate for his dad by punishing the parents of abused kids.
Juggernaut would have been a great foil to befriend Russel and lead him down the reckless path of vengeance, while Deadpool tries to convince him to forgive.
Juggernaut can't hold a story as a main villain on his own because he doesn't have any grand designs or plans. He just wants to live his life on his own terms. So without turning him into a henchman, the best you can use him in a movie is as the muscle for a kid like Russel.
Blob has no pathos, I don't think I've ever seen an x-men story where the Blob was sympathetic. Since the Juggernaut couldn't possibly be beaten by this crew unless Cable actually used his psyonic abilities (is he even a mutant in this movie?), they could only stop the Juggernaut by winning over Russel, and Russel telling him to stop. That way Juggernaut get's another "fine, I thought we were friends" moment, and he can wander off into the wild like he's so known to do.
x-men evolution, blob was an escaping circus freak, who was well received by the x-men, but was rejected by jean grey and went crazy, once he got over this he was a cool guy in bad company like any of the villains in that cartoon, but your ending makes sense, convincing juggernaut to stop is the best way to get rid of him without defeating him
Yeah, I've got to agree. I get Nando's point that the Juggernaut doesn't really get his due in this movie, and fair, but I think swapping him for the Blob is going too far in the other direction. Nobody's excited to see the Blob. They build up the big drama and mystery of who's in the basement (and take the piss out of doing that at the same time) and then it's revealed to be a... fat guy? Who's... really heavy? Erm...
I know there's more to the Blob than that, but I still think it'd be an anticlimax. Even for comic fans... I mean, come on, he's the Blob. He's a third stringer in the Brotherhood at best. Whereas it being Juggernaut smashing out of the van was an incredibly cool moment, and I think the movie needed that excitement. Maybe I'm wrong - I mean, the original X-Men film made Toad badass, so they can probably pull it off with Blob, or maybe the subversion of it being Blob of all people in the van would've been a good joke, but still. I'm happy with the Juggernaut.
Main problem I had with the film? Fridging Vanessa before the opening credits. It's such a boring, obvious, obnoxious plot point. I like Vanessa, and I like her relationship with Deadpool, but taking that away didn't make me shocked or sad. It was more "They're doing this? Really? Damn, I expected better.". I'd have much preferred it if she's still around talking with Deadpool and encouraging him to save Russell. Or if they don't want to write her in the movie, put her on holiday or in hiding and have Deadpool joke about how convenient it is. Just don't kill her and expect me to be sad, because that doesn't work. It pissed me off no end to see an interesting character dynamic discarded for the sake of a cheap shock, even if the after credits scene sorted that out nicely.

But they really didn't need to fridge Vanessa to give him that motivation. It's established in the comics that he's in chronic pain, so they could say that he's killing himself to not be feel pain for a while - which would obviously stress out Vanessa. Finding a way to deal with how the cancer + healing factor messes up his head would add development to their relationship.
Deadpool is also long established to be protective of children and he has never to my knowledge needed some dead girlfriend's wishes to motivate that protectiveness. He simply doesn't want to see children hurt, it's a basic part of his character since way back when he was doing merc jobs.

Nando v Movies This may be alot to ask for but can you remake the story for Transformers: The Last Knight
I"m not sure that I like the Blob better than the Juggernaut here. First off, the Blob is immovable but not particularly fast. If they want to get to Russell, they can just go around him. Second, if Russell and the Blob empathize with each other then it will be much more difficult to sway Russell to do the right thing at the end. To me, it's better that Russell be paired with someone that's generally just a bad person and he comes to grip with that in the end.
Despite disagreeing with you, I thought your commentary was hilarious. Particularly the one about choosing to skip the Fat Albert joke, and then Deadpool calling Blob "normal person."
Nando. Having now watched all of the video, and I an say that I definitely agree with your Juggernaut equal Doctor Doom analogy. It would be nice to see Juggernaut as the main villain with a team of people having to pull out of the stops to defeat him. It reminds me of an episode of "Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends" that featured that X-Men.

Could Blob be swayed to join them too? The continuity is split in a way where he can become an X-Men member and never have to appear with the Apocalypse cast. Plus X-Men Evolution showed it's possible, with a lot of help from Xavier
You could have Russel run through a doorway then Blob could park himself in front of it blocking it completely. Also, he's more sympathetic but you could give him a reason to want to fight the team, you could easily make that Deadpool just never stopping his fat jokes, and when it cuts to the fight scenes between him and Colossus, cut the music and play up how boring it is in comparisons to the other fights going on for laughs
I think they could make the arrangement for the Blob to move like an average person, not be agile or anything like some people with a considerable amount of fat in their bodies can actually do(trust me I’ve seen big boy flips and splits both irl and on the internet). Besides the spirit of the character as nando talked about can still function.
On top of that if the Blob is connects super deep compared to the juggernaut, it’ll look like deadpool’s sacrifice made a severe impact and also mean the russel is capable of overcoming an even more complex obstacle and thus worthy of becoming an xboy like everyone else.
First off, congrats on 100k. You're more deserving of that than alot of channels. Second this was a pretty great video. I especially liked the those parts with wade cracking jokes. Those were legitimately hilarious 😂. Besides that the narrative you created was pretty interesting. It would have been cool to see Blob again.

Not just again, but properly. Juggernaut looked the part, but he didn't display his unstoppable-ness. It was odd. I understand still avoiding the Gem of Cyttorak, but yeah, he was just big and strong.

Awesome video as usual, I think the only problem with this switch is it makes all the build up lead to a reveal that falls flat. I know that after hearing of this monster in a cage, if I saw the blob come out, I'd think it would be funny but I'd feel let down. What made the juggernaut so satisfying is I really got the feeling of this movie going all out with its characters.

True but they shouldn’t put Juggernaut in just for that “awe” moment or the long awaited “Colossus V Juggernaut” It seemed very ham handed. Juggernaut needed to be an integral part of the narrative, not some extra muscle friend for the kid.
He needs to be in it for the story, they have to wait for the right moment, not do it because they can.
maybe they could have russel talk to juggernaut before cable show up, the whole story in the prision felt rushed, deadpool could have ignored russel prompting him to find a new friend, and only after cable show up deadpool tries to save russel at that point juggernaut already cared about russel, but we dont know he is juggernaut yet
you could make it even funnier by having the blob start off wearing a restraint helmet that looks like the juggernaught, only for it to be revealed its actually the blob
I was let down by the shit cgi... and you can't really blame the budget this time round. I've seen lower budget movies do MUCH better CGI than that.
@@SA80TAGE I don't really have any personal experience with the development of CGI for movies, but from what I've gathered from a variety of comment sections and videos is that the quality of CGI usually comes down to a combination of money and time. Time arguably being the most important part, though money does help speed things along and set priorities.

The biggest disappointment for me was how they introduced all these cool new X-Men characters that we haven't seen in a film yet (i.e. Bedlam, Shatterstar, Zeitgeist, etc.) and immediately killed them all off for the sake of a joke. It was funny for sure, but I really wanted to see them in action
Well, I think the Shatterstar actor said the other day that Deadpool saved all of them. I don't know if it's confirmed, but they may be back.
The problem is that Bedlam's power would take out Cable way too easily by messing with his electronics and cybernetics.

Am I the only one who appreciates that the X-Men movies streamline the origins of their characters instead of going off into tangents about demons and aliens? Like, I like it in the comics because I know there will be development later on, but in the movies it would be so awkward because it would cause extra exposition and distract from the story. Juggernaut would just be better as a mutant or mutate in my opinion, in all the movies. Maybe thinking he's possessed by a demon.

Yeah, wouldn't really work. Nando's fixes are about plot problems. The problem with Bright is the Worldbuilding, it needs a complete rework, not a simple fix.

Juggernaut being there was similar to all of the x-men appearances/references in both movies. it's assumed that it's taking place in a world where the x-men exist and have been established but in reality it hasn't been really. The movie actually made me sad because we haven't had the follow up that it assumes we should have had. It's actually really meta in that way, like a shot fired at the singerverse saying "you should be here by now but you're not"

Loved that he was in the movie but you are right. Blob would've been a better choice and there is so much more to The Juggernaut than what we got. Seeing him being the avatar of Cyterak (not sure how you spell it) would also had beed interesting.

Blob as the iconic fat guy villian for X-Men makes a lot of sense to fit into a relationship with a chubby angry kid.

I think you make a good point, especially about Russel and Blob having more of a conversation in the prison, while I think having Russel do all the talking in the movie adds some dramatic tension, since we don't really know if whatever/whoever is in the cell is actually listening to him or if he's going to get himself killed by trying to befriend them, it also kind of makes their later team up much less believable, since you're left with no idea why Juggernaut would actually care about some kid. On another note entirely, if I had one change it would be the way Vanessa's death went down. While I don't mind killing off her character per se, the way it went down was so beat for beat a cliche that I actually didn't really buy it for a significant portion of the movie, since I kept expecting the trope to get subverted somehow. What I would do is have Vanessa and Wade be able to talk through the barrier every time he dies, rather than saving that for when he dies permanently. They still can't reach each other, but they do speak. That could make Deadpool's motivation for joining the X-men to essentially be finding ways to fuck himself up bad enough that he can see Vanessa again at least for a few minutes. Until, of course, Collosus threatens to stop bringing him on missions altogether, and he ends up with one last chance to prove himself when they go on the mission to help Russel. That's my main gripe anyway, I don't know that anyone else got as hung up on it as I did.

Deadpool 2 made Juggernaut look like a chump. They could've done better there. I don't know much about him, but this movie didn't leave me with much of a desire to get to know much more about him. They treated him like a throwaway character. I think your suggestion of using the Blob was right on. Keep up the good work, brother!

I was a little unsatisfied with this juggernaut too, I liked him overall tho, thankfully we know he survived so he might get a bigger role in the future, I was happy to see him at first but I also thought it was a little short and blob would’ve been better

Fascinating concept, Nando! I love how you stage your arguments, even as I find myself disagreeing with a few of them.
Also, I genuinely like Blob as a character and would love to see him get his due in cinema. I loathed X-Men Origins: Wolverine and my breaking point with that movie came when Blob's bulky mutant skin was rewritten to be the result of an eating disorder. Shameful, ignorant, Insensitive, and lazy writing there.
With the PG13 cut and the Super Duper cut already in existence, I say "Release the Blob cut!" I would watch and enjoy it!

I hope he does Jurassic Park, the first one, and fixes that one scene. The scene where the two adults are ineffectively holding the door closed while trying to reach for the gun as the boy stands right next to it doing absolutely nothing. I feel like Nando could figure out a more efficient version of that scene.

Momentum is usually juggernauts weakness
Okay, that dialog between Deadpool, and Domino about the difference between Ryan Reynolds, and Ryan Gosling was so on the nose, it should have been in the movie.
The main problem I have with this change is we don't get the "Totally not One Winged Angel" boss fight music, which was amazing.
