People these days do not want to hear biblical truth because it 'calls out' their sins and embarrases them. Instead, they twist and turn the scriptures in awkward directions to make the bible fit into their own lives rather than they fitting into the bible's truth. I had a friend who disagreed with remarriage after a divorce BUT when her divorced daughter wanted to get remarried, my friend changed her whole stance on what the bible said and accepted the remarriage without question or explanation. And I'm talking about someone that knew the bible very well until she had to make the choice of upsetting her daughter.
In life we all have to make hard decisions whether to follow God or let people change our minds with their unbiblical reasonings.

@@fishnchips2423 I have listened to dozens upon dozens of hours of videos on this topic, possibly even hundreds. And what I have found is that those who support divorce and remarriage do not relay on the Bible to form and shape their beliefs, but rather have multitudes of opinions, thoughts, feelings, stories, and personal anecdotes to support their position. To me, this is manifest evidence of their lack of light.

"Till death due us apart" these words are powerful and too real! You and the Sharon from MotivatingU2win here on yt are of the few teachers that get it right when it comes to OSAS, divorce and re-marriage and so many other topics. ----- When it comes to the exemption clause of adultery she explains it in the context of Jewish culture at that time (betrothal and how it's a bit different than engagements today) how Joseph would have been able to put Mary away if she had actually cheated since they were betrothed and hadn't actually married yet - so adultery in that sense is what Jesus means. Yes, it may be a while until I get to that though. I was going to go through all of Jesus’ words first, and then hit Romans 7 and 1 Cor 7 and then probably start getting in to those types of questions more towards the end. But that’s a good point because many try to make that argument. Don Smith tried to say unbelievers aren’t bound and joined by God. That’s convenient and allows for a lot of divorce and remarriages, but it’s not something found in Scripture. God bless you bro.

I gave the specific situation I wrote in the previous comment because some people may make a distinction saying that 2 unbelievers could be joined by the Lord, and 1 unbeliever and someone who later became Christian could remain joined by the Lord, but if an already Christian decides to marry a non-believer then the Lord would not join them. The idea would be to address those situations separately perhaps.

@ The reason they were called wives (and called widows if their husbands died during the betrothal, and called adulterers if they had relations with another man during the betrothal) is because they were legally married as a result of the signed marriage contract. Just like a couple today who is legally married after they say their vows and before they consummate their marriage. Instead of this period being a matter of hours like today, back then it could be for a year. But it was still a valid marriage in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of God.
But now I have to ask you, why would God command a man not to divorce his wife (1 Cor. 7:10) if divorce/separating what God has joined together without remarriage is perfectly morally acceptable? Doesn’t Jesus say it is possible for a man to be guilty of causing his wife to commit adultery (Matt 5:32) by putting her away without just cause (even assuming he himself does not remarry)?
