Thankful for you both…and the work you do! 🙏🏼 Tim and Wes, is the New Age Movement almost a Neo-Gnostic progression?? And what are your thoughts on the Passion Translation? (as I’ve heard Mike Winger teach re his concerns of the PT)

In general don't take away or add to God's Word. Truth! Which is Jesus. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God!

I’m curious to know what you gentlemen think of Michael Heiser’s teachings.

The argument that New Testament writers did not quote the Septuagint apocrypha does not strongly support excluding it from consideration as scripture.

It's wrong to call the Deuterocanonical books apocryphal. Jerome quotes some of the Deuterocanonical Books as Scripture, including those he thinks aren’t (or shouldn’t be) canonical. One of the clearest examples of this is in Letter 108, in which he quotes Sirach 13:2, and expressly calls it Scripture, writing, “for does not the scripture say: ‘Burden not yourself above your power?’” There are several other examples of Jerome treating the Deuterocanon like Scripture.

At 20:30 he says he can name popes who thought the apocrophya wasnt scripture and they were debating until martin luther, can you cite sources for that?

Off the top if my head, Gregory the Great. The view that the apocrypha wasn’t holy scripture but still edifying was quite wide spread and common even among the well known church fathers like Athanasius or John of Damascus (I think John chrysostom as well but I could be wrong it’s been quite a long time since I studied there topic but the list is quite long of known fathers who held that view). It certainly wasn’t a controversial view in the patristics era.

When Wes says the apocrypha books are not heretical is it that you should not arrive at teachings like purgatory or praying to saints or that he doesn’t think that those teachings should be considered

    Romans 8:7
“The carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”
    .
    John 3:6,7
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit.”
“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”
    .
    Acts 2:38.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
    .
    1 John 2:27
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.”

Definitely would like to see more of that. One on KJV and other translations would be great. I grew up KJV only.

The misinformation is ridiculous. The Bible was more than 66 books from the early church. The Synod of Hippo dictates the canonical books of the Bible and specifically Canon XXIV does.
