  • After our meadow was cut for silage this summer the baler had left behind the odd patch here and there so I decided to rake it all up. A bit of a task by hand but we did it and stored it in one end of our barn. Here we are, well into autumn now and it has all dried out beautifully so it was time to break out our home made baling machine and get the pile tidied up.

I love ‘slow’ technology where you take time and the output is directly from your own efforts . Crafts & , time with purpose love it

Baled hay = more compact easy storage and easily transported to feed Sheep when snowy!

I personally would ‘squish’ the hay in the baler. One of the many reasons I’d never make a decent crofter?

I'm sure you couldn't go too far wrong with a squish.
