I used to love flying the TH-55 at Ft Wolters in Texas back in the early 1970s. Small and agile, it was like strapping on wings... and then off to Huey training at Ft Rucker in Alabama. Good job, Jimmy!
For 25 years I flew in chopper to go offshore. Even today, I have dreams of flying one myself. And in my dreams’s I’m pretty good. I’m also sure in real life I would probably suck at it. All the pilots I flew with were top notch. Being able to land on a 20x20 helipad on top of a platform.
Great job rock solid hover, landing and flight. One thing you will never forget. Won't forget my first solo feels great after you have done it. Congrats. 👍
Beautiful solo runs Pablo...with each takeoff you could see your growing sense and comfort with the collective reaching the lift point. Now you have another expensive way to jump into the wild blue yonder lol! Joseph, I forwarded your youtube link to Paul Barroso on the Rotorway Builders FB page, old friend from when I moved here from CA in 2011. Betting you may already know him or of him, but if not he's having a lot of fun with Rotorways up in Brooksville. Owning, building, reconditioning, repainting.
I was just wondering what could go wrong.then i thought.Alot...Icewater flows thru your veins hahaha Live to fly another day helecopter pilot twin pilot your on your way up.Greatjob Sir Jimmy
Well done well done jimmy as he said, first time I saw you flying in a helicopter Jimmy. So starting a new Jimmy’s world, a helicopter do it to it I love helicopters 🚁. Well great job flying it , and thanks for sharing showing. Keep it up fly that helicopter, have fun be safe as you can and see ya on the next flight Jimmy see ya bye
wow what a nice video i love the sound of a helicopter. luckily i live near a helicopter maintenance place and hear the sound almost daily. i am glad i found this youtube channel. greetings from the netherlands
Love It! Jimmy's come a long way since the first video I saw where he was turning a right pattern by mistake with his Cherokee 180. Since then, he has flown high performance planes like the Lancair and the Cessna 310. He showed great judgement when he had a gear problem with the 310. That's what makes a good pilot! Congrats Jimmy on flying the hardest machine to fly since the advent of aviation...The heli!
Congratulations Jimmy. I had forgotten what a massive piece of machinery the Mattel Messerschmitt (Hughes TH-55 Osage) was. Think of balancing a broom on one's hand...with feet, cyclic hand, collective hand, and motorcycle grip throttle. No they are not going to put some control in our mouth. Don't try to scratch your nose with the cyclic hand.
Great job, Jimmy! Well done! However, you handled that bird with very soft hands and input. You had to have had a very good instructor! The congrats goes out to Jimmy and his instructor. Well done guys!
Congrats reminds me of a flight that would say sure your ready to solo I think, At least no one else will be killed. Always got him at least Two hour of extra paid instruction
Congratulations! I remember, vaguely, my first solo many years ago, fixed wing...three touch n goes and come back in. Looks like that's the same way they do it in rotor wings also. I do have a question, you were in the right seat. Is there a reason for that on a rotor wing? Normally you'd be left seat.
I used my right hand, my cyclic hand, to scratch my nose once at Ft. Wolters. The nose pitched 60 degrees down immediately and I grabbed the cyclic again. The radio instruments are in the center. If the pilot was in the left seat, he would be tempted to change frequencies with his right hand, his cyclic hand. The collective hand, the left hand, does not have to constantly be on the collective.
is this gunna be the ''COMMUTER GO TWEEN'' the HQ BACK YARD, and where the 421 is gunna be living??? :) HEHEHE JIMMY get the wife to sign off on a HELOPAD in the back corner of the yard???? LOL HAHAHAHAHA
You do know why that particular helicopter was designed right for the army so they can crash it to teach pilots how to crash a helicopter and you're doing a solo in it
yeh ..quit playin' roun' jimmy...cleared to solo... comin' up..right thru effective translational...head to the pattern...3 circuits with 3 full down ldgs...Done!! save 2 minutes on vid😎👋
Congratulations Jimmy. Onward and upward from here…

Jimmy congratulations!!!! Now I want to fly one
Does this mean he'll be hunting down defunct helicopters and rescueing them now too? Jimmy's going UP but his bank account is going DOWN..hehe
Very nice man! Congrats

I guess next time we will see rebuilding choppers 😂😇
Congratulations Jimmy! You made it look easy!
Hovering is the hardest part of helio control and jimmy has the right combination of wrist control
Great job, Jimmy !
Jimmy likes flying helicopters. Jimmy is doing good you know. Jimmy likes the hover.
Spoken in true Seinfeld humor 😅
Awesome...😂
Well done Jimmy 👏🍻
TH-55 Saw many at Ft Rucker. Too many moving parts for me ,my dad was a career US Navy Helo jock and was amazing what he could do with a helicopter.
That’s mother Rucker.
Good on ya mate
Now give us a clear prop
And a doughnut in the Elvis jet😂😂❤❤❤
Well, that ends the buying airplanes for a living thing... Every POS Helicopter is now fair game! "What could possibly go wrong"
LMAO.......😂
Very nice!

Congrats Jimmy...
Parabéns pelo solo 👏
Gotta take Cleetus for a ride!
WOW!! That ain't nuttin' to sneeze at!
Awesome job Jimmy! Man does that helicopter have so much more power when the instructor is out as I found out on my first R22 solo flight! Nice work!
Great stable flying
Congrats reminds me of a flight that would say sure your ready to solo I think, At least no one else will be killed.
Always got him at least Two hour of extra paid instruction
Great job !!!
Well done, I did the same thing 60 years ago,
😄👌 Great stuff. 👏
I have never seen you being so serious Jimmy!!!
Bravo.Go Ahead
I thought it was Jimmy's World!! Good job, Joseph Priolo, on training Jimmy!!

Van Halen, Top Jimmy🎸🚁
Nice flying Jimmy! You're making it look too easy!
Congrats!! How many hours it take to get that good? Looks like you got one hell of a good instructor. Best Wishes!
Well done, Jimmy.
TH-55 great fun I had in that
Yeah jimmy !!!💪🤙😎
Attaboy Jimmy. He's gonna buy a Blackhawk now.
well done jimmy
Is that the copter you won from Cleatus? Nice job buddy.
What fell off the skid on the first lift off??
Can I get a ..."Clear Prop" ! Rotor and tailrotor specifically!
You did better than I did in Microsoft Flight Sim.
Any flight schools around Dallas that train in this helicopter?
Since when sits the PIC on the right side in the 300?
Next the huey
Wow Jimmy that’s crazy
I learned to fly that at Ft Walter’s in 67
I was at mother Rucker.
How many hours did you solo at? Great job Jimmy, Enjoy your videos from central Fl.
@@FL.AirBoater Jimmy was able to solo with 9 total hours of helicopter time. That’s a testament to the ease of operation of the Schweizer 300.
When does the pilot sit in the co-pilot's seat?
I used my right hand, my cyclic hand, to scratch my nose once at Ft. Wolters. The nose pitched 60 degrees down immediately and I grabbed the cyclic again. The radio instruments are in the center. If the pilot was in the left seat, he would be tempted to change frequencies with his right hand, his cyclic hand. What could possibly go wrong!!!!!!
yeh...flyin' any Robinson R mod🤨👎
WHATS THE COST TO LEARN TO FLY A CHOPPER
Jimmy can you hold pedals and not be uptight and rigid and tense?
is this gunna be the ''COMMUTER GO TWEEN'' the HQ BACK YARD, and where the 421 is gunna be living??? :) HEHEHE JIMMY get the wife to sign off on a HELOPAD in the back corner of the yard???? LOL HAHAHAHAHA
20,000 parts flying in close formation? Not for me thanks 😂
Long time no see I was afraid that Jimmy spend all his money and is gone from Y t...
Pretty good… I was sure you’d throw an autorotation in there 😂
(yeh.... neeewwp...not first solo ..🤣😂🤣😂)
Oh it’s so fun
Is 95 cruise speed with a Rotorway unrealistic?
@@mranderson191 you can I’ve cruise comfortably at 100 mph. Just need to have the rotor system balanced well to keep vibration down
You do know why that particular helicopter was designed right for the army so they can crash it to teach pilots how to crash a helicopter and you're doing a solo in it
