This video really did the trick! Question, does this ONLY work if the key fob battery is near dead? I replaced the battery, and still had the same issue. The sequence on this video still worked for starting my vehicle.
Once I've had battery replaced by Cadillac dealer and it died in 1 month again, so possibly your new battery is stale... try another from a different batch. If that doesn't work, maybe there is a problem with Proximity Sensor or some other electronic part which could be malfunctioning in certain weather conditions like too cold, too hot or too humid. Mine don’t start even doing the instructions you showed , it still locks & unlocks the door here & there but still saying no key fob detected
I was stuck in my cts during the summer time with the windows up. I pulled up to work and was preparing to get out of my car when my doors wouldn’t open and my windows wouldn’t let down, the car was completely dead! Plus, it was 104 degrees out!!! Not to mention, my phone had just died! So, I’m in the car panicking trying to figure out what I could do to get out. I was sweating and overheated with a heart rate of probably 150 or more!!! I just knew I was about to die! Mind you’ll, I had dark tint on my windows to make matters worse… No one could see me as I’m yelling and banging on the window !!! Finally,I thought to grab my gun and was ready to shoot my window out… God, sent my husband as an angel! He came to surprise me with breakfast because I’m a diabetic and didn’t have time to eat. He didn’t realize I was in the car at firs but, he was curious enough to see me moving panicky throughout the car and came over immediately to help! He told me that there was a release leverage on near the floor to the left side!!!! Lord I never realized the release handle in the car!!!! Jesus!!! I fell out the car breathing like I ran a 100 mile marathon!!! I thanked God for the kindness act of my husband thinking of me and also for blessing him with paying attention for once!!!!😂😂😂❤

This is a dumb question but after you unlock the car with the manual key & if the interior lights and car doesn’t turn on then it’s a problem with the car battery?
Yes, it's very possible that the main battery in your car is dead or a wire connection to one of the terminals (positive or negative) on battery is loose... in that case you just need to tighten it... happened to me once as well.

Do you have to plug the key fob into something or just lay down in the center console?
In this Cadillac, just lay the keyfob down. In some other models, you need to put it in a special pocket.

A friend of mine locked his keys in a Cadillac like that and the doors won't unlock what do you suggest
If he has OnStar activated, call them and they'll open door for him. Otherwise, if no spare key available I'm afraid he needs to call local Lock-Smith.

I replaced the fob battery but still got no remote detected I started it the way you said but got the same message when I turned the car off...any other suggestion?
Possibly a bad "new" battery. Try replacing again with a battery from a different batch.

What if you have the key but the fob is lost?
Why would the batteries in my key fob go bad in only 18 months? I have had vehicles 15 years old that the batteries never needed replaced.
I know what you mean... the first time my battery died, the car was under warranty, so the dealership replaced it for "free", but 4 month later it died again... I guess some batteries are better than others.
The remotes usually come with very cheap batteries from the factory.
Where do i go to get batteries replaced dealer?? Is there anyplace cheaper??
No need to go to the dealer, you should be able to change the battery in your remote yourself.
