They're called narcissists. I was married to one for 26 years. Used to love hunting old tools & now 2 years after my divorce I'm finally getting back to hunting tools & man let me tell you it's way better than being married to an emotional vampire. Love your videos & thanks for being a part of helping me get my life back

To Scout the project was hairy.
Then he found it was from Little Ferry.
    He looked in his stuff,
    And fixed up the muff.
And now the hammer is cherry.
John knew he needed to test
The hammer that came from the west.
    He beat on the bird
till it looked like a turd.
    Now ScoutCrafter's beating his chest.
    Scout made the aluminum shine.
The machine work was done mighty fine.
    It looks really cool,
    That refurbished tool.
I wish that hammer was mine.

Maybe it might be a good idea to make a thread checker system like this. It would likely take a looong time, but would be fun and sure help me learn the lathe. Thanks for another great one John! You never cease to amaze me with the things you make with your lathe! LOL I guess I'm just going to have to keep my eyes open for a small one. Did come across an interesting find the other day. I happened upon a Reechet which I have never seen before. This one has the patent number on it but no company markings. Instead it is marked AC for the AC Delco company and evidently came in a special sparkplug replacement kit. Just goes to show you learn something new all the time. I'm looking forward to having a few good too adventures when the weather warms up.

  • @geraldschrader8511
    @geraldschrader8511 5 лет назад +1

Scout, I used to work with an emotional vampire exactly as you describe. One of his favorite things was to always talk about killing management (obviously this was well before the present day when that kind of talk would have a SWAT team showing up to arrest him). One day I cracked and unloaded on him, and reported his rants to management. He went to the union and they advised him to deny everything, which he did, and as a result management let him slide. But he never spoke to me again, and I was mighty happy about that!
Awesome job on that hammer by the way. As soon as you showed the damaged heads I thought "He's gonna make new ones from Delrin". Sure enough!

Good show! I tell you what you may want to try. Get some 2-part resin. A lot of RUclips guys that I watch use it in art. Since you would cast it yourself; you could seat the knurled pieces any which way you wanted. And; conceivably, you could load it up with bird shot, squirrel shot, or whatever. To add a little weight. I think it does well with impact type tools. Nevertheless, looking forward to Wednesday's show.

Hi scout, you know if you've had dealings whith an emotional vampire ,because when you come away from them you feel more depressed than you did before ,lol. Reminds me of Moriarity in Kellys heroes, ! When Oddball said, ' always whith the negative vibes Moriarity, lol, one of the all time great films, and my favourite. The delrin faces worked out nice, realy liked the replacement faces you made, if this is a user, let us know how they stand up please. Thanks Scout, Best wishes to you and your's, Stuart.uk.

Hey scotcrafter I just got one of the same hammers it's a mess...lol but I was wondering where would I be able to get new caps for it and what is a good fix for a handle grip? It only had a few peices on it in the middle. Oh mine says little ferry New Jersey .

If you look on eBay you will often see the caps available, the grip however is a dipped grip and not available aftermarket as far as I know! Great balance on this hammer!!!!

    • @ScoutCrafter

The rubber on the pucks is hard but I don't think hard enough to take treading and might come off.. If there was a way I could put an insert in the hole to hold treads then it would work! =)
