I've taken 7 years of Graphic Design classes, and I understood everything here, the only thing I personally had a problem with was that I'm using Corel Paintshop and not Photoshop so alot of things were different. Still able to make a good overlay though, thank you!

I sat here for 2 hours not because the tutorial took a long time, but because I couldn't find any cropped photos of my waifu so I sat there and cropped a background for an hour.
Google remove.bg and theres a site that does it for you. Not completely accurate though but does it in an instant.
if your too broke for photoshop i reccomend photopea, its free online browser! i was able to follow along with it

Hey ace, im REALLLY trying to make an overlay but every time i delete a layer to make it transparent the other layer just stays white and i cant find any ways to delete it please help, thank you
possibly due to the background layer. All you have to do is unlock it and delete the layer

I have a problem with the "drop shadows", layer 2 has not them linked as for the boxes where i used them, sorry for my english. It's like when i decide to click on the eye of the layer 2 the drop shadows of the other boxes stay visible
What is the point of making the pink background transparent? If nothing is behind it what does this do other than just make the color lighter..you could just use the lighter color?

I hold ctrl and i click on the webcam and it highlights it like you and everything, but when I click on the layer 1 to delete it does nothing.

It is. That's why a lot of people are moving away from Adobe. Affinity products are $50 each and you own them. Or GIMP is the free alternative.
this helped a ton but the only issue I can't seem to figure out is how to make my gameplay go behind the webcam frame through obs. On photoshop it's perfectly overlapped, but it goes over the webcam once I apply to it OBS
