I love it when the client takes a pic of the product you have recommended, and bought it on Amazon! Not ever even thinking of supporting their local stylist - who barely charges above cost. I once asked a client who had gotten sparkles done in her hair, why she had gone to a different person than the one who had introduced it to her neighborhood group (which was also helping to give her a little extra money). The client said she got it for "free" from the neighbor - who of course learned it from the other woman. I was dumbfounded. This client was an author of a cookbook. I felt like asking her if she would mind if another person gave her cookbooks out for free vs. having to pay for them?
My hairstylist is always so hesitant to upsell me when I am like please tell me what to buy and I’ll buy it all! I think a lot of clients are like that. it is not pushy we want the best for our hair although I appreciate her trying to save me money
buggy627 exactly!! This is one of the main points I make in the video! Many hairstylists just get very turned off to selling when they face a few rejections. So this video should help ❤️
I hate it when I’ve told my client about a product they need and they say they will have to get some-and then I forget to get the product for them at the end of the service and they walk out with no product!! That’s when you want to hit yourself over the head!!!
I used to sell around $300-$500 per WEEK in product, but the last few years I’ve been so lackluster at selling. (Being honest) now I’m feeling that itch and inspiration to invest in some new products that I truly do love. It’s just so scary because it is so costly.
I totally understand your concern with this! I recently just did the exact same thing with Brazilian Blowout, brand new service that I'm now certified in. I'm also able to perform their other treatments, so it's becoming a major retail point! I'm excited too be retailing this brand I'm excited about, my guests would feel a difference from, and also can make a good chunk of money with them. The return is greater then the initial cost, I promise! Cheers! : )
Omg my first high end salon Made us do that too. Collect everything you used on them and instead of offering just one or two, we had to ask "which of these products i used would you like to purchase today?" It was so crao
So appreciate you. Very helpful. I do have a question. What are the best practices for approaching professionals with new hair growth products coming to market?
