- 3.1 patch is out for World of Warships here is an awesome game I had playing the Iowa tier 9 battleships. She definitely lives up to the nickname The Big Stick. I hope you enjoy the video.

Your performance in this battle reminds me of a story about the Texas Rangers.
A Texas town finds itself with a rioting mob that the town sheriff cannot control so appeals to the Rangers for help. Later that day, the train arrives and a single Ranger descends to the platform.
The sheriff looks around, then says "They only sent ONE Ranger??"
The Ranger replies: "They's only one riot, ain't they?"

Just a tip do with it what you will but I recommend your make your mic a little louder. Or get a better mic, this one sounds a little weird. Just my thoughts great vid.

Its a REALLY good idea when fighting BBs and CA/CLs to shoot every 3rd salvo as HE. It's almost guaranteed to knock our guns/light fires. This forces the other player to burn their Damage Control ability, second HE salvo re-lights fires and you swap back to AP for max damage.

+peter schlueter The Missouri (aka The USS Table) was only good for signing a document on. The New Jersey had more battle stars and honors than any other battleship in US naval history and was still out killing the enemy while the Table was steaming to Tokyo to get used as a desk.
and when 0.40 came out everyone was wiped back to 0 :P
That poor, poor battleship... I expect that kind of thing against cruisers, but dang... bet he never saw THAT coming.

How or why are you playing tier 9 vs tier 4-5...
Back in the old patches, Match Maker always messed up, unfair system back then.
I hate what they have done with the gun sound effects. My cruiser guns sound like a damn 9mm. They really need to make the sound more meaty. Nice video. Keep it up!

one question.
at the end your repair skill looks empty. are there only 3 uses?
and why not use it on cooldown when it doesnt exceed your total HP?

MrZmurcht You can use it 4 times at max.
How much you can repair/heal depends on the severity of hits you've taken, Heavy and Critical damage are recovered less % than Light damage or damage from fire/flooding. There's also about 15% recover cap for each repair.
It's kinda difficult to tell how much would you heal at times, I wish WG implement some sort of guidance for that.

Maree Printemps I agree, sometimes I have repaired massive amounts and sometimes it's nigh-on nothing! My last game in the Iowa I got 125,000 dmg done :D

Im only at Tier 4 with all the ships but should i be using the commander and moving him to the next ship with the penalty or should i get a new one for the new ship?
Merchant Ivory I move my commanders up and retrain them starting at tier 4 or 5. Also one of the biggest perks of premium ships is training commanders without the penalty.

You are perfectly right in your assesment of the Iowa and as others pointed out you obviously know how to play with a Battleship BUT I would have loved to see a game with you fighting equal tiers.
This is more like sealclubbing and does not gratify... an Iowa vs tier V New York BB? then an AFK BB? then there are only tier VI's left... no contest for you,just lots of HP to shoot.
Good video, but PLEASE turn your mic up. I'm on max volume and can barely hear a word...
Repair doesn't work the same on all damage it repairs the most HP from fire or flood damage, then light damage, moderate, lastly Heavy damage. Haven't seem any Documentation but after 2 months or so behind the wheel that is just what I have seen. I don't mean I think so I have watched for it specifically and it works that way.
Isn't running aground kind of embarrassing? One other thing... at the ranges you are fighting at why are you not accelerating and decelerating a little? In long range combat EVERYBODY tries to lead off. In a real sea duel I would stagger my shots for a wider spread of hits along its line of travel instead of focused fire at long ranges. The reason is at long range any changes of speed can mess with targeting badly. Another thing I noticed is you do not take advantage of targets of opportunity as much as you should. One other thing too, I notice you are timid about firing over islands in your previous videos and also you withhold shots that should have been taken from the farthest range you can fire from especially when you are firing into a close formation of ships. The ting that makes fleets so dangerous is you combine the firepower of other ships into one huge destructive storm of fire. If you teamed the Iowa up with two cruisers and a pair of destroyers there is no reason why all of you could not target one ship at a time and literally blast it out of the water with one salvo. The thing is your greatest strength is being able to support the older gun platforms from Air attack. There was nothing overly special about the main guns compared to other battle wagons. The Iowa was not intended to stand alone in a fight anyways. She was still submarine bait. If you sailed your team as a fleet instead of a free for all you would be a lot more dangerous. Also from farther range sometimes it is better to strip the ships supporting the big battle wagon more or less for the reasons I stated above. You get rid of their close in support from a distance and it takes the effectiveness of the battle wagons away as you close in. Heck, two destroyers with the right cover can lay enough torpedo down to sink ANY battleship or carrier in one big hit. Its getting in close enough to effect that hit is the trick. I am a huge fan of group focused fire. There were a couple of times when you and two other ships targeted the same ship and literally blasted it out of the water within one good salvo.
I could understand being timid about wasting ammo if there were a real ammo limitation issue to be concerned with but if you got the ammo to sustain a fight POUR IT ON! Take more of those long shots and especially pick more on any badly damaged ships you cross to get their firepower off the board faster. Lob some rounds over the island and show ships hiding behind them they still are not safe from the BIG guns.
You have to be an idiot to go after this ship with planes.... kinda like that Lexington Carrier in one of my games... who had a massive hard on for me, and kept throwing his Bombers and Torpedo planes at me... many planes were shot down a total of 60+ planes... And clearly he never learned.
I'm pretty sure that upgrade at 2:58, -17% to aiming speed, that means it takes 17$ longer to aim your guns, even though your loading time is decreased. That does not seem like a great trade of, gotta say.
MKRocker94 you are right it does increase the aiming time but the aim time on the higher tier American ships is good so it doesn't feel like a negative.
WastingSomeTime Gaming I feel it. It didn't seem that slow when you were playing. What other upgrades are available for that slot?
MKRocker94 The other options are #1 increase main gun accuracy(no percent or stats provided), #2 +20% to AA mounts effectiveness, #3 -20% to secondary battery loading time and #4 -12% to main battery loading time with -17% main battery aim speed.

Got myself a tier 4 phoenix and strangle to get higher , most times (been a noob) i get sunk , but just yesterday i made some good gameplays and peaked to bring 4 enemies down in a tier 6 battle , i was so thrilled that i was all over the chat lol! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, MAKE MORE VIDEOS MATE (any ship you want)!

Getvirus Thanks for the compliment. The North Carolina and Iowa seem to have a fast and flat firing trajectory that makes landing 12 Km and lower shots easier.
WastingSomeTime Gaming Ohh nice. Haven't played it enough to notice the differences between the firing arches. Let alone some of the higher tier ships. Tho I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the North Carolina

I was going to start with the American cruiser line but the more games I see with their BBs the more I want to start with those. Life is so full of tough choices. :)

I notice up on top right and left you can see each individual ship-- how do you bring that up on the HUD-- its not on mine even with advanced HUD up

I got smacked by this Big Stick last night while I was in my Nagato. Damn thing knocked out 3/4 of my health in it's very first salvo. It and Montana hit like a ton of damn bricks filled with TNT.
Darth Marth The Iowa class has the second heaviest broadside (in terms of projectile weight) of any WW2 battleship, second only to the Yamato.
I got hit by Iowa from a range of 8km. I have had plenty of games in my Nagato vs the Yamato and have never taken that kind of damage at that range from it. I've been hit by all nine of the 18.1 inch AP shells many times and Nagato, for whatever reason, just shrugs it off and continues going to work. When Iowa hit me, it was like I didn't even have armor.
